  1. We will have to first see how much the Z400 sell for and then decide the build, but the above config seems solid.
  2. Thanks for the links, will check them out. Indeed the Threadripper will be a better choice than the i9 but our System Builder always recommends and intel Build and may not build us and AMD one. Thanks for replying.
  3. We are thinking of phasing out 5 of our HP Z400 and 1 Z600 and replacing them with a couple of new builds. Can anyone suggest a configuration that will match the rendering power of those without breaking the bank? I was thinking of going with the new i9's for the price to performance against the Xeon's. We mainly use Vray and 3ds max. Thanks.
  4. I have only a single pc on the home network. The provider is a local one who in turn leased it to the nearest Cable Operator and I do suspect that the network setup is not that secure. Yes, I have a Cable Internet. I don't know what standard they use. Too bad the boost doesn't last longer.
  5. So, bear with me ; my first post. I notice that sometimes I get far greater download and upload speed than my 4 Mbps cable connection. It is especially noticeable when using p2p clients. Also when speed testing on Ookla I get almost identical speeds in both downloads and uploads on most servers. While updating windows recently It jumped to a peak of 150 Mbps for a minute and averaged at about 60 Mbps for ten minutes. Funny thing the update didn't even finish and got stuck at 69% with still a lot of bandwidth left. I'm curious to know what causes this Internet OutBurst!!!
