Run Run Shaw dies today at 106 years of age. He created, directed, and produced over 900 of movies including 36 chambers and bladerunner which both are 2 of my favorite movies. He invented the Kung Fu movie and was a gigantic influence to martial arts, he helped introduce chinese martial arts to the modern world, the gaming industry and list gos on.

just did thank you I will be cautious and always considerate I do not tolerate noob bashing, insults or racism. This is going to be one of my first forum experiences I am not forum savvy please correct me if I am not doing something properly. I have always been a reader and not a writer in forums and take criticism well. I have really enjoyed Linus and his associates work for several years now and would like to be active in this community.

Being an Audio professional the first thing i have to inform you of is sound quality and bluetooth generally are not used in the same sentence. It sounds like @ss underwater through dollarstore earbuds.  Bluetooth is convenient and you sacrifice a ton of quality for that convenience. The good news is companies like Yamaha have gone an extra step to enhance bluetooth audio with aptx. His phone may actually have this natively. the Yamaha bluetooth receiver YBA-11bl would be a good choice for its price $50, quality both physically and sound wise. it also has an option to use aptx (oddly enough an old technology thats resurfacing with bluetooth) which is a less detrimental way of streaming audio with bluetooth. It also has digital audio out via DCoax. Sennheiser uses it with their wireless headphone units which sound great. Its been around for a long time and mostly was used in professional situations until recently. I have only installed Yamaha's unit for iphone customers. If he doesn't have a budget and wants convenience he could also go with a sonos unit or a wifi streamer if hes computer network savvy and has been bitten by the  audiophile bug. You can stream higher fidelity with those options and they have better range. If its a sony smart TV he could also go digital audio out from the tv and plug it into his amp. I use a sony googletv box for internet audio which is easy to use and my fiance likes it. Basically find one that has a warranty, is a company you heard of (or high review scores), and has the aptx badge. This is my first post so I am not sure if I can post direct links to purchase it but all major online shops will have it. A great tip always buy from the store not a marketplace seller (lots of chinese fakes out there) and an yamaha authorized online seller. The trend lately has been buying directly from a company's store has had  great prices and excellent customer service which is worth the extra money to me personally. Go to yamaha's store or NICX and check the prices Let some others chime in its always good to get several opinions. Oh this product does not have analog audio if i remember correctly so he will need an amp with digital coax. If hes got money go Sonos they are out of Boston and have amazing tech and customer support.
