  1. I have a pretty good beefy computer but need a laptop for my CAD class, nothing special I wont be going through simulations too much (ill do that on my PC). I have a budge of 500-800, and I prefer to keep it on the lower side of that budget. I don't have preferences on the display nor the keyboard/track-pad quality, I primarily care about the performance; 8 gigs or 16 gigs of ram should be plenty for the basic parts and sketches of CAD that I will be doing in class. I do not know anything about the laptop hardware except the transferred knowledge of the more common (I guess) desktop hardware so anything would really help. - thanks I found this was wondering if it was good : https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaPad-Processor-Graphics-82KT00AMUS/dp/B08YKDYWK5/ref=psdc_13896615011_t5_B08YKHGKTV
  2. I am on windows 10 I have a new 970 EVO and an SSD that I run windows on, never had problems with this SSD, it is a fresh install of windows. My whole rig is basically new, new 3600X with trident Z 3600 ram with a steel legend B450 board, a 5700XT XFX Thicc III It started happening and i thought it was thermals because that would make sense, I ran my GPU fans 50% faster and it it still happened, I have my CPU on a aio cooler and it never reaches anything near 85+ So I am thinking it might be a faulty GPU, somehow power delivery is skewed? I was running on a "bad" psu for a while (a month) but I switched over to a thermaltake 600W PSU and it doesnt reach near the 600W cap "bad" i mean as in it would randomly shut off because power delivery wasn't sufficient
  3. now that I think about it... its the psu, it went throught mining, I thought seasonic was top of the line, I need a new psu... life of the pcmasterrace, money is just for spending I guess
  4. is it dangerous to be running off a faulty psu? dumb question, but I have been using it for like weeks now. will it, or has it damaged my pc
  5. Nvme was installed after, (today), the problem I am water cooling the cpu and the gpu is a 3 fan beef boy that doesnt break a sweat I am thinking it is the psu, I dont have a replacement on me, so i would have to straight up buy a new one
  6. doesnt matter tho, gpu wasnt making the noise, I meant mobo though sorry
  7. I have a very nice pc that I just built, 3600X 5700XT Steel legend mobo, 16Gb trident Z ram "OC" to 3600Mhz (XMP file, advertised on packaging) 1TB Nvme 970 evo plus and 250Gb Samsung SSD I have this weird high pitched noise, It causes bad stutter issues in games. I can drag a window around my windows home screen and it will make a consistent noise like its doing something, then when I let go of it it doesn't stop but it becomes "random". I have unplugged all my peripherals to make sure it wasn't them, I unplugged my GPU 6x2 PIN and changed the video output to my cpu, still had problems. I have reverted my OC on my ram back to the stock 2133 Mhz, still nothing, i underclocked my cpu by 100Mhz.. nothing. I am going insane, my hardware is new from trusted buying sites like newegg and amazon. please save my pc I have a seasonic psu G seriers 80+ Gold
  8. well i have a ssd for my os 500 r/w and 1.5 TB for games
  9. thank you for the help I changed my build to a 1700 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KZXCCb
  10. no I decided to stick with a HDD, it wouldn't matter in games
  11. nothing else, what do you think about the 3770k though, i have z68 mobo already with 16gb of ram. i would be like $200 cheaper
