I usually recommend NVMe if you can afford it for things like video editing and stuff. If it was me, I wouldn't put it in this laptop just because of it's specs aren't that amazing like a i5-8250U and a MX150. If you don't have at least 8GB of ram in there, I would upgrade to that at least and go for a sata M.2 ssd.

Personally, what I've wanted to see was instead of seeing a tech channel build a 'PC of the era' and instead 'The best POSSIBLE PC of the Era'.  Like digging up the MOST obscure and blazingly fast Pentium III or 4 and the fastest possible GPU, throwing that IDE drive out the window and going full solid state using CompactFlash instead.  The kinda PC that woulda cost $10 000 in those days.

    Would linus recreate this?
and show off the productivity that could be done with it?

    and
one like this: male RCA's to female 3.5mm

Plug the RCA ends together but backwards (right into left & left into right). you then have a 3.5mm Left/Right swap cable.

that is a scam if I have ever seen one. Reasons why

    1900X 16 core 8 thread 180W CPU in a laptop not possible
GTX 1180 isn't a GPU that exists (yet)
Aliware is not a brand that exists
that box does not contain a 17" laptop there is no chance in hell
6K 144HZ panel bullshit, you can't even get a 120Hz 4K monitor, which isn't just IPS, or TN it's IPS TN
    6 cooling fans in that???
The IO does not relate to that picture of the CPU in any way
it has 3 2TB SSDs in two difference form factors why?
It has not just a mechanical keyboard, but the best mechanical keyboard
it has RGB zone lighting but as far as I can see there is no lights on it never mind RGB ones

NO IT EXISTS IT HAS SUPER RAID,  everything with super Raid exists, and it gets even better its supper raid 4 for when 1,23, and 5 is not good enough

    EDIT-
I just noticed there is a website on the box www.cdrking.com, and the product doesn't even exist on that website

@Crunchy Dragon You know what the most annoying thing about this is the fact that the couldn't even make their own website in order to sell it

and the chat log with Dell

so I am following their advice and am contacting Yuga Tech, their average response time is a day so I will get back to you when they do

Usually with cooling systems that have a hub, they require a USB connection into your motherboard so you can control the colours through a program. In some cases, you're also able to wire RGB strips into the control hub and control them through the program as well. Look around for RGB coolers with control hubs that require a USB connection to your motherboard and see which one you like.

Well I don't remember what your config is right now, but I had a friend play on integrated graphics on a laptop for a few years  before I built him a PC (we play warframe, btw) so you should be able to get by for now.

But especially with prices high right now, and the fact that the GPU really wouldn't be giving you the full value since you wouldn't be using it to it's fullest, I still think that's the way to go.

Sir Launcelot reacted to SupaKomputa in Motherboard output or video card output?
a 1030 will work with your monitor, games will run at full speed at that resolutions.
some 1030 still have vga output, if not you can get a cheap hdmi or dvi to analog vga adapter.
Buy GPU first, then the monitor if you want more resolutions.
I have 3 monitors one of them still use vga.

Sir Launcelot reacted to tarfeef101 in Motherboard output or video card output?
yeah I still maintain that you should not buy a new GPU. Get the monitor you want to target first, then get the GPU once you have the $$ to use that monitor to it's fullest.

No point spending $ on a GPU that isn't going to be used to it's fullest

Sir Launcelot reacted to tarfeef101 in Motherboard output or video card output?
No, using the output from the motherboard will use the integrated graphics

(also if you don't have a monitor that can take advantage of a better GPU, what's the point of getting a new GPU? Just save your money for a monitor that'll make the experience worth it, then get a GPU to match)
