  1. The 1700 itself is causing stutters and low fps in the 1% lows - having owned every ryzen generation the cache and CCX issues with first gen ryzens make them stutterfests vs the 2000/3000 series. Its not worth upgrading into the first gen ryzen and youre losing a TON of preformance off any gpu as a result. Even your max fps will be 15-25% cut off from a 5600x. Look it up, benchmarks from gamernexus, AMD even discussed this and i speak from experiance of owning every ryzen generation, the first gen ryzens with a modern GPU are knee capping your FPS.
  2. Id still go with an add on google TV ontop of the tv device if i was trying to decide between the three, its cheap and is a huge speed upgrade on most tvs. The lossless audio isnt a noticeable thing today, Sheild tv is only good for dobly atoms but to be honest - an xbox with dobly atmos purchased does a great job of this too and is probably better value overall. I struggle to recommend the sheild anymore with its AD infested interface and super old SOC.
  3. OSX on mac hardware = by far more effiecent than windows. Windows will destory your battery life - why? First Safari gives a huge battery boost vs chrome, no safari on windows means chrome = compounded issue with battery life. Second, OSX is optimized to not overload the system with background tasks, more so if your device has a GPU then windows is forced to run on the GPU and loses graphics switching. Windows is horrible on Apple hardware, OSX 100%. There is little you can do to optimized apple hardware on windows, but undervolting the cpu is one option, also undervolting the gpu however its a minor difference.
  4. My recommendation is to do the following, OpenCore Legacy Patcher - Install Big Sur and be done with it. Install windows 7 and enjoy windows freedom without limitations. -- Install windows 10 via the sound patch complex method and enjoy windows 10. Install Chrome OS from google on it. Install Linux. Or Live with the outdated OS because you're not really missing ANYTHING worth while with the newer version tbh.
  5. M1 is perfectly fine, M2 just boosts the GPU slightly so it isnt a huge thing since macs dont really game well. The few games that do run on mac, run amazing on the m1 (minus SC2 but thats a OSX issue not gpu issue). M1 is the way to go.
  6. You can buy gamepass cheap like <100 for 3 years; its actually pretty good option tbh.
  7. Google TV is the best value, the sheild is super old tech charging full prices still (its like 10 year old chips in it) I've gone through this game thing where i bought all the google tvs, used and compared them all - returned them all for the google tv. It has some limitations but honestly, usb-c adapter + usb stick helped iron out some issues -- plus the thing plays PS1 / N64 Emulatiors perfectly.
  8. I own every mac version. m1 air is the best value. m2 is NOT worth the premium due to a number of issues - Skip it. M1 Pro 16" is worth it if you can afford it, 120Hz and decent HDR screen (but it does bloom alot because no good HDR OLED screens for laptops yet.) Its not perfect so i wouldnt buy this for HDR due to the mini led bloom effect softening the hdr image from time to time. Pro motion is nice as it helps the blur from the older 16" ALOT. Overall the M1 Air is fine, you can get powered display docks that can hook up more than 1 display aswell if need be; however there are other ways around this limations too. M1 air is super good value, if you get one used for <900 you have a killer deal without the tax aswell. 8gb is perfectly fine for any office task, even light gaming (but you have gamepass cloud gaming to work around all these issues). 8gb on the m1 air is like 16gb on typical laptops speed wise and functionality due to its data rate. If you're budget minded - M1 Air for sure. If you want a bigger screen thats overall best in the laptop world, M1 Pro 16" Skip M2, no reason to get it - Screen is trash, ssd is trash unless you upgrade to 512 then making it much more expensive and in the 14/16" realm.
  9. You should upgrade your CPU, the 1700 is the cause for most of your issues with very studdery and low fps lows. 5600X + 3060 would help or wait for AM5 and upgrade to the 7600x and then get a new GPU. 1700 is a massive issue for you ATM, amd made tons of improvements to fix the studder issues with the first gen ryzen chips.
  10. LMAO, that has <1-2% preformance impact. 100% not the cause is PCI-E 3.0 The issue is likely drivers, OS Configuration, Ram Timings. OP run 3D Mark and compare gpu scores and cpu scores or use userbench and find where the bottleneck is vs peers.
  11. 3060 TI FE is the best cards to get their rare, run super cool and quite. People talking trash havent owned any. Plus they MINE UNCAPPED! So toss on Nicehash and slowly pay off the investment where the LHR cards will take 2.5x as long to do so. You have the best 3060 ti card. The FE is not loud and not hot. Its super well engineered btw for a cooler and people are projecting previous gen cooling oems. I game and mine with all of mine, their QUITE and they run cool.
  12. In Canadian dollars, RTX 2070S are 650-750 new. Used some are going for $500-600 Should i try to sell my 2060 and get a 2070Super Or should i wait for the 3070/3060 and get that instead? 2070s are like 200ish off atm used.
  13. Don't buy any dell, our whole office got 17's and 15's and we sent them all back 50+ too many engineering flaws, bloated batteries broken trackpads. Avoid dell, trust me their low end. Just buy a Apple and toss bootcamp on it.
  14. DO NOT BUY THE 9500 OR ANY DELL. Do not believe reviewers, their sent cherry picked units to mislead you the consumer. There is massive engineering issues in the dells and yes the battery is rated for 300 cycles and will be dead after 2 years. Additionally, the current threads on reddit that have been given gold state the major customer service issues and quality issues. DO NOT BUY A DELL, spend the extra buy a Apple Mac, Surface or Lenovo.
