  3. Hey guys lol I didnt think I would really ever want a gaming laptop but I was thinking about getting one in time for my Thanksgiving trip this Wednesday because I'm dumb and last minute, but I've hardly ever done much research into gaming laptops so I was hoping some people could point me in kind of the right direction with it My current build has an Intel i5 6500, AMD RX 480, and 16 GB of RAM so I'd like to obviously find something with power like that but I can't go into the thousands range really so I can accept the possibility of that not happening, especially with how graphics card prices have changed since I initially built it (and i probably dont need that much ram lmao) 1 TB storage Would be Good but again idk what I'm going to have to sacrifice to fit the price range, its not really a big deal if I have to use external drives or anything I guess,, The computer's main purpose is just to load up with a couple of games and run them when im on vacation, and when im not on vacation to just be a school computer with a game or two I can play during downtime. I KNOW I should probably wait until black friday to buy anything but here I am anyway
  4. So I don't know if this is the right place for this whoops and i might delete this later ? but im trying to make a decision rather quickly on this and im having trouble im trying to decide if i want a nintendo switch with a game or 2, plus accessories like controllers and battery bank etc or a higher refresh rate monitor and some steam cards. the problem is im honestly pretty satisfied with everything i have right now, and there isnt really a huge thing that i want really bad battlefront 2 was looking to be something i was highly interested in like that, but we all know where that went. none of the nintendo switch exclusives really appeal to me in the same ways as some big ips in the past for me like GTA, LittleBigPlanet, etc. so im trying to prepare for the future, and trying to figure out if its better to get a switch for the portability and future switch exclusives, or a bit better pc experience and lots of money to spend on games ill want in the future,,,
  5. I was literally just watching a video when you posted that saying they were pretty bad ? i didnt know these were actually a thing till just now tho so
  6. yeAH we've been definitely hardcore considering a switch over here, the only reason I'm not super hyped because I know my brother will mostly hog it, especially nowadays since most games (most definitely including the good ones like Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2) are single player, I know he'll hardly want to take turns... long story short i want my co-op campaign games back and aside from that i was never a huge Nintendo fanboy in the first place to be dedicated enough to their ips to motivate me to get their consoles very often aside from peer pressure, mostly because they just weren't what I grew up with in the same way. Hopefully those hardware issues I've been seeing about it being cheaply made etc etc aren't too bad though? I thought about getting a new phone lately like one of the newer iPhones or a Pixel what with how mine's been acting lately since iOS 11, but the thought of losing my prized headphone jack in exchange for those damn earpods has most definitely scared me off for now
  7. First time poster here, long time LTT fan As I've been beginning to start thinking and putting together my wishlist for the holiday season, I've been struggling a little with coming up with things to want, totally a first world problem right? Or, at least, things to want that weren't so outlandishly priced... looking at you, Star Wars Titan XPs ://// So here's my question to the awesome people of the LinusTechTips forum: What sort of tech gadgets, PC accessories, parts, and otherwise are you all looking to receive this year? (PS: @LinusTech this would totally make a cool video in December, or sometime down the road at least before its too late to buy anything ;o; )
