  1. I think I got the world fastest single CPU in the world, with a clock speed of 5Thz! Of course this is a joke. I don't know why task manager is seeing those numbers and this is a window VM. A lot of thing can go wrong I guess. I just find it funny seeing those numbers.
  2. I was just clicking videos and I came across this.
  3. I've been trying to fix this problem for hours and I got nothing. Here what I got. Just bought 10g card (intel x550-T1). Put it in my server, installed the drivers from intel website ($ make install). Change the MTU to 9014 ($ ip link set "name" mtu 9014). With all that. It work. I get 10gb from it. transfer files like crazy. The end. Nope. Next day came by. I reboot the server and now its no longer works. The card is working as i did boot to windows and it work fine. Did a few commands to see whats going on and here what I got. $ /sbin/modinfo ixgbe | grep version version: 5.7.1 srcversion: 720A79B0425CF0E9E12CB84 $ sudo lshw -class network *-network UNCLAIMED description: Ethernet controller product: Ethernet Controller 10G X550T vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@0000:03:00.0 version: 01 width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi msix pciexpress cap_list configuration: latency=0 resources: memory:a2400000-a27fffff memory:a2800000-a2803fff memory:a2b00000-a2b7ffff memory:a2b80000-a2c7ffff memory:a2c80000-a2d7ffff *-network description: Ethernet interface product: Ethernet Connection (7) I219-V vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 1f.6 bus info: pci@0000:00:1f.6 logical name: eno1 version: 10 serial: 04:d9:f5:1c:c9:e2 size: 1Gbit/s capacity: 1Gbit/s width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=e1000e driverversion=3.2.6-k duplex=full firmware=0.5-4 ip=10.0.0.79 latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes port=twisted pair speed=1Gbit/s resources: irq:130 memory:a4600000-a461ffff $ ip addr 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000 link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever inet6 ::1/128 scope host valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever 2: eno1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc fq_codel state UP group default qlen 1000 link/ether 04:d9:f5:1c:c9:e2 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff inet 10.0.0.79/24 brd 10.0.0.255 scope global dynamic noprefixroute eno1 valid_lft 601582sec preferred_lft 601582sec inet6 2601:2c7:9000:1ca0::92d2/128 scope global dynamic noprefixroute valid_lft 601583sec preferred_lft 601583sec inet6 2601:2c7:9000:1ca0:2d20:d890:2e27:29a3/64 scope global temporary dynamic valid_lft 206048sec preferred_lft 82761sec inet6 2601:2c7:9000:1ca0:c4d2:e05c:a976:c647/64 scope global dynamic mngtmpaddr noprefixroute valid_lft 206048sec preferred_lft 206048sec inet6 fe80::4ad4:9dea:ae69:e89b/64 scope link noprefixroute valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever It seem like the network card is "unclaimed" and has no logical name. try to use modprobe but got an error. $ modprobe ixgbe modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'ixgbe': Operation not permitted
  4. I would like to have 2 parity drives but I don't know if i did it correctly. snapraid.conf # Example configuration for snapraid # Defines the file to use as parity storage # It must NOT be in a data disk # Format: "parity FILE_PATH" parity /mnt/parity1/snapraid.parity 2-parity /mnt/parity2/snapraid.parity # Defines the files to use as content list # You can use multiple specification to store more copies # You must have least one copy for each parity file plus one. Some more don't hurt # They can be in the disks used for data, parity or boot, # but each file must be in a different disk # Format: "content FILE_PATH" content /var/snapraid.content content /mnt/disk1/snapraid.content content /mnt/disk2/snapraid.content # Defines the data disks to use # The order is relevant for parity, do not change it # Format: "disk DISK_NAME DISK_MOUNT_POINT" disk data1 /mnt/disk1/ disk data2 /mnt/disk2/ disk data3 /mnt/disk3/ disk data4 /mnt/disk4/ disk data5 /mnt/disk5/ disk data6 /mnt/disk6/ # Excludes hidden files and directories (uncomment to enable). #nohidden # Defines files and directories to exclude # Remember that all the paths are relative at the mount points # Format: "exclude FILE" # Format: "exclude DIR/" # Format: "exclude /PATH/FILE" # Format: "exclude /PATH/DIR/" exclude /.lost+found/
  5. Well! I just fixed it. A newbi mistake. mergerFS and mergerfs are not the same.
  6. Ok, i'm very new to linux and I hit a wall that I don't know how to fix. I got to the point where i should be able to see the drive storage but when I try to access it. I got the storage drive for where i install ubuntu [which is 50gb]. I have 6 disk and 2 parity, which should give me around 40T B (6TB each drive) So i don't know where I f***ed up.
  7. I thought it need to run a VM to do both task but if it don't have to, cool. As for the OS, a simple windows 10.
  8. I've been planing to buy an "off the shelf" NAS since I am at or over my current capacity for my media storage (12TB). Then Linus made the video "320 terabytes in a normal PC case!! The DIY 4k editing NAS" which made me wanted to do a DIY NAS. The thing is, I want to turn my 2nd computer, into a NAS and a VR computer. First I want to know if that even possible to do on one computer with VM and such. The only thing I can see it working with is PROXMOX, but i'm too dumb in this subject. Even if I can or can not use my 2nd computer as both NAS and VR. I would like to know if these items are good to buy for my DIY NAS or if anyone else have a better opinion. I am going to do 10Gb and I will be streaming 4k stuff from the NAS. I am planing to buy more than 8 drives for the NAS. That maybe in total of around 60ish TB. Future Purchase: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076642YPN/ NETGEAR 10-Port Gigabit Switch (I would like to have a 10Gb up and down if possible. If someone has a better switch. I'm open ears, same with the other items.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BDZWJAO/ LSI Logic Controller Card (PCIe 3.0 with 16 ports for Sata please) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072N84DG6/ Asus 10Gb Network Adapter (RJ-45 only please) Case: Will be upgraded to Fractal Define 7 XL Currently Have: VR Computer Build: Motherboard: Asus Prime Z390-A Storage: 970 EVO Plus 500GB CPU: Intel i7-9700KF @ 3.6GHz (Too lazy to overclock) GPU: EVGA RTX 2070 Super Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) Power: EVGA SuperNOVA 750W 80+ Gold
  9. So, I have been having some odd freezing. Like the one when you play a game and fps drop out of nowhere. Than game play as normal. Well, Thats me. The freeze only last for 1-4 seconds long and resume as normal. Here the catcher. It happen all the time. Not just when I play game. It happen as I watch Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, and/or web browsing. All which need very low cpu/gpu power. I have this computer for a year and this event started to happen a month ago. All components are new when I bought them. Which is why am very confused of my situation. I am open to suggestion.
