  1. So i have watched the Techquickie video about the USB naming scheme, with linus ranting about its naming and i am pretty on his side on it. I dont like these new names either and i fully support your rant, however you may missing one crucial thing that makes USB forum do all of this wonky stuff, and the reason is number in 4 is considered extremely unlucky and bad number, which brings trouble and even death itself. Check out google on chinese numerology about it, number 4 in their language is pronounced as "Si" and death is pronounced as "Shi" and these two are really similar to one another in speech thats why it is considered really unlucky number and causes massive tetraphobia in china. USB forum knew it, and also know if they would decide to name their "3.1" as "4.0" the technology they created actually would meet GIANT problems, chinese companies could have even refuse to build it and even government could get involved into this. They are so obsessed with this number so the point where they even avoid it in online games. If you know their culture and watch other youtubers from china on that stuff you will understand it, for them "death" is super tabu topic, they are afraid of this word much much more than any nation in the world, its a part of their value system to actually believe in this kind of stuff. It would be a shoot in the foot to give number 4 to any thing produced in china.
  2. Or get g-sync monitor and all problems will be gone away with stuttering and etc thingies.
  3. I can test it if it will come, do you know any specific tool for it? It will be a bang for the budget to get those rams today performing similar to desktop ones.
  4. It says in manual the rams will run in non-ecc mode. For example this mobo https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B360M-HD3-rev-10#sp Support for ECC Un-buffered DIMM 1Rx8/2Rx8 memory modules (operate in non-ECC mode)
  5. I just found this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IFFY6XS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 On amazon, its really cheapo ddr4 2400, ecc unbuffered. I was wondering, because it will run on b360m mother boards, thats what the manual on gigabyte site says so, but will it be any different to run these 2 ram sticks in dual channel than using a desktop basic 2400 mhz or 3000 mhz 8gb ram stick? Im reading all over the place that unbuffered are supposed to be much faster and with commercial use on standard mobo ECC does not work. How will they perform in comparison to idk to this one for example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK8GX4M1A2400C14-Vengeance-Performance-Desktop/dp/B00UVN2C8O/ref=sr_1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1524711580&sr=1-6&keywords=ddr+8gb The low price may sound suspicious to be fair and i dont know what to think about it, is there any tool to check ram performance? I bought 2 of them and im really curious what does these "server designed" ram sticks could do.
  6. Sadam Hussein bought a tons of those consoles back then.
  7. Since Sony is one of the HSA founder along with AMD, they will probably implement a fully supported HSA chip, along with that 3d vram technology samsung is inventing. It will exceed the todays 1080ti in games, simply because HSA chips are clear superior to the homonogeus systems we have in PC now. Second gen ryzen is the sight of that.
  8. Streaming and video recording much easier and less power consuming. Sharing and shooting images easier. Most of the times cheaters free online experience. (that one is a deal breaker on its own)
  9. The console is strong enough to handle 40 players on the same instance in FFXIV at 60 fps, so... It all depends on the games and if you have turbo mode on or off. I heard Xbox one X drops performance the longer its turned on. There is not such a case with PS4, it could handle the game for whole day without frame drops or system crash. But on the other hand ps4 pro is really loud, yet still alot more quiet than gaming laptops i used to play on. PS4 pro is the way to go honestly, it may be weaker, but it offers more games. Playstation network service is the same. And xbox is not more stable than playstation OS hell no, it drops performance within playing time. FFXV drops around 10 frames per second after 3 hours of gaming. And better hardware doesnt help Xbox one X in running the Pubg at 20 fps, it all depends on developer and that one game have just shown microsoft doesnt really care how the game is performing on their console like at all, otherwise they would not let so broken game to be released into their platform. Sony did opposite and demanded stable frames from bluehole devs. As long as the MS will not change their politics, the xbox could even be 90% stronger on hardware it will not make a difference. The game will run as well as the developer and console company will let you. Im just curious about the system settings on xbox, on ps4 pro i could switch to 1080p output and turn the turbo mode on, that delivers me a 40+ fps in most of the games and sometimes even 60,GTA 5 runs at those settings in 50-60 fps for instance Thats enough for me.
  10. It could and probably will push developers to make use of DX12, which increases the overall performance of the game. Since xbox one x has hardware support for it, there will be developers aiming for it, because it will make the job easier.
  11. Oh my god, why... The consoles on release were not lacking in power, get over that myth created by pcmr enthusiasts, the PS3, PS2 and even PS4 upon release were highly scored devices, previous ones were even revolutionary. Its just how the devices are after several years after release, ps4 is from 2013, its already 5 years after release, now take a look at GPU's from that time, 500 and 600 series are pure garbage today unable to hold new games in 30 fps. CPU's are even worse, not to mention inferior ddr2 memory. As for upgrades, its not really that simple to implement at all, thats why they hold one version of console for many years, because they could configure and adapt API for them to make game developers job easier. Look at the ps4 pro, it took developers a lot of time to configure their games towards it. One console and one hardware just makes things easier to create OS, games and other stuff on it. Consumer would just lost interest into the consoles, if they were more expensive, for the most price above 500 bucks is not acceptable and companies has to adapt to it.
  12. Does it download some stuff? Fan could be working on sleep mode some time after you turn it on.
  13. Yes. For the price it is, its not like the pro is 2 times more expensive.
  14. Absolutely no, at least for the GTA V I have a laptop with much better GPU with gtx 970m, and gta 5 is running really badly, around 30-40 fps to be exact on highest settings and around 40-50 on lowest. Its due to the poor cooling solutions on laptops, the GPU could be the same as on the traditional PC but the performance due to the thermal trottling will be like 20% lower. The laptop you want to buy is used, and old, i cant remember when they were making laptops with 700 series, it could be even 5 years old, and the GPU itself is mobile type so its not even near the performance of original gt 740. It probably sounds like a jet engine also. The laptop you have here has 6 gb of ram, its not so good either, it will be fine for the minecraft and rocket league but forgive to run gta 5 on it. I am not sure if it will even run rocket league at 60 fps to be honest. If you dont need a mobile device and playing at home, and looking for a cheap system to play games, then go for console instead, xbox one x is for the same price as that laptop and runs these games great.
  15. Xbox one and ps4 is the 2013 year invention. Comparing them to the PC's from that era with 600 series nvidia gpu's or even AMD's, they were incredibly strong for the price of 350-500$, when the good gaming PC was easly over 1000$. The consoles were able to play the game and record it without any performance loss, that was unthinkable on the PC back then. Not even to mention 1080p support, a real full hd, when most of the pc was either hd ready or 900p. The things changes a little after 700 series, but consoles were still relevant. And for the performance, its still amazing if you take into consideration how much power they take. And neither sony or MS will never put into the consoles dedicated isolated gpu+CPU architecture like on the PC, since the HSA chips works for them wonders and they will focus on this type of solution, due to its superior performance and power usage. Merging both chips together saves incredible amount of space on Vram along with the reduced number of computing tasks to do the same job. I will be surprised if Nvidia will not release their very own, HSA fixed PC when the next gen consoles will go out.
