  1. Ended up ordering MasterCase Pro 6 for 179€ from a local store. In Cooler Master's EU store it's 159€ but with shipping added it wouldn't be any cheaper. Gonna be trimming the 5.25" drive bay a bit to make room for the GPU.
  2. Damn this was good info, thanks a lot! I have i7-4790K cpu so it got me thinking if I could overclock the G.Skill I've been using. I checked things out and found that it has excellent overclockability and that my ram has been running at only 1333MHz because I didn't XMP profile turned on... So I bumped it straight up to 1866MHz, CL 8-9-9-24 and 1.65V because that would be a stable set up as tested here It might turn it up some more just for the fun of it and to give it a real edge.
  3. Yeah, it's not that much and shouldn't make a difference but it would be nice if modding wasn't needed Thanks for the answers people! Will be looking into these shortly
  4. How many and which particular cases or case series are there with native vertical mount for gpu? I know Cooler Master has a mount for their MasterCase and MasterBox series and some case from Thermaltake has a vertical gpu mount. But what others are there? I came up with this question when I was looking for a new case. The problem I have is that MasterBox and MasterCase only fit max gpu length 296mm with the 5.3" drive bay, which I need, and my Asus STRIX 1080 ti is 298mm long.
  5. Well it's a good point to sell the cheaper one because it could be easier to sell... Corsair tends to please me too!
  6. Well that's one thing It's not so Spike-y
  7. I have two sets of 2x8GB DDR3 RAM and I'm thinking of selling the other. G.Skill TridentX, 1600MHz, CL 7-8-8-24 Corsair Vengeance Pro, 1866MHz, CL 9-9-9-24 As I've understood and tried to make some primitive calculations which is better by dividing the latencies by clock speed and comparing them. I got the result that the G.Skill is better by a split hair. But what do you think in a case like this, which would be better to keep for myself?
  8. Oh nice! I'll be getting the MasterFan 120 and see how they work. Thanks for these.
  9. But isn't the Aura Sync RGB header used for LED strips etc case lighting, not fans?
  10. I've been thinking about exactly that MasterFan kit. But would they work when I'd like to have RGB fans speed controlled by the GPU. That controller, as far as I know, needs to be connected to the motherboard's USB header and fans to the controller which means that the fans are controlled by the motherboard. I think I'll buy them anyway, I can still use them even if they don't work just the way I hope.
  11. Hi! Asus gtx 1080 ti STRIX has these nice 2 additional 4-pin fan headers but does anybody know if I can control rgb fans' lighting through them with Asus Aura or some other software. I'm thinking of buying a 1080 ti strix and I'd also like to get some new fans to put in those headers, rgb if they can be controlled through them.
  12. I did have the custom water loop all planned, yes. Now the notion about 1080 ti got me thinking again, thanks a lot, really! Originally I was so fixated with the idea of having a water cooling that I didn't even look at 1080 ti because I thought I could "save" cash by having normal 1080 with the water loop. Now I checked things again I see that the price difference is not even that big between 1080 ti and 1080. So I ditched my idea of custom water cooling loop and now I'll just get a 1080 ti. I pretty much knew that there isn't anything to upgrade in the CPU or RAM, but I was just curious if there was any point in any upgrades Thanks in any case!
  13. Hi people! I'm upgrading my build for 4k gaming and I'm getting EVGA gtx 1080 Hydro Copper My rig already contains (parts that have something to do with gaming): i7-4790K @ 4GHz with Corsair H105 G.Skill TridentX 2x8GB 1600MHz CL7-8-8-24 ASUS Z97-Pro Gamer Corsair AX860i 2x WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200rpm Samsung 120GB 850 EVO Obsidian 900D Monitor: Acer XB280HK 4k display So I was thinking if you have tips for my upgrade, mainly about motherboard or RAM or even CPU. I know there might not be any real sense in changing mobo or CPU, as I haven't even overclocked the CPU yet. But would any newer mobo or DDR4 give me any real benefit in 4k gaming? Or would faster DDR3 give me any benefit? Any other tips and tricks and feedback is also allowed and welcome. Thanks!
