  1. Also settings is taking about 10x as long to open now
  2. Also looks like WiFi and Bluetooth wont turn on
  3. As in the title, was working fine this morning, went to put the radio on in the digger and it came up with "No Sim Card" under mobile data, meaning no BBC sounds for me... And also (probably more importantly) no phone calls! Phone without the phone bit is kind of useless, so does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? Ive tried cleaning off the sim card and blowing out the slit it goes into, didn't really do much. If i remove the sim card it shows "sim removed, restarting" and if I insert it it restarts also, so i think it knows the card is there... Dont want to replace the phone because there is nothing else on the market that is as bulletproof and small... Ran my last XZ1 over with my tractor and bought another to replace it, don't want to make the kill count up to 2.... Also if at all possible i'd like to avoid factory resetting because it is a right pain in the arse, but if it is the only way i'll give it a go...
  4. Forgot to mention, its an android. Xperia XZ1 Compact
  5. Hello All, So my phone fell out of my pocket for the millionth time today, except it wasnt so lucky. It survived the fall (as it has done countless times) but it couldnt quite survive being driven over by my tractor. As a result the screen is utterly buggered (but only where the tread was in contact with the screen, other than that it hasnt cracked...). How would i go about getting the data off of my phone, as normally you have to click on a popup when you plug it in, which obviously i cant do with a buggered screen Thanks James
  6. Or even the Nokia Beam Pro.. That's what it's called. Sorry. Just goge it there are loads of websites on it
  7. What would be an equivalent then?
  8. Hello. Any news on this Nokia beam? Any ideas if it is actually happening or not? Thanks James
  9. would a range booster help? What is the fastest speeds i can see on h+?
  10. OK thanks. I have just noticed i am actually not on 4G at all, but H+. Is there a reason for this? If i stand in a specific window, i can get 4 bars, but no 4G. The LTE discovery said nothing about Band 3 or 20. Thanks James
  11. I use manjaro, and i can vouch for it. I am nearly ready to ascend to arch but i need a stable(ish) computer as well ? . Manjaro is fun, because it is arch but stable I used to dual boot but then i bought a laptop that has windows 10 on it and dual booted that instead
  12. Hello, So i have an unlimited 4G plan with "3". The speeds i get are around 2MBps on a good day with the 4g hotspot from my phone sat in the window. This is better than the 400kbps internet speed that BT is willing to give us (would pay more for more speed but they don't offer it here). What i want to know is how to get a better reception. I want to use a similar thing to these 4G modems, but i want to use my phone's sim (without removing it from the phone because i don't want to have to do that every time i want to use the internet). I would like to use a USB C solution, as then i could buy the sony USB dock (which i am probably going to get anyway) and just dump it on that, enable tethering and that is that. I can't find anything about aerials or antennas that plug into my phone or signal boosters that don't cost an arm and a leg. Thank you in advance James
  13. If i have to buy another system that defeats the point of fixing this one doesnt it
