Need help with custom loop
Mdmit87 replied to Deadpool2onBlu-Ray's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Ok to answer some of your questions. I'll start off with were to buy I recommend either performance pcs or Newegg as long as you are careful when buying from market place selllers I was recently checking prices on mayhems pastel fluid one seller is around 20 dollars per bottle over priced. As for brands I use alphacool, bitspower, and primo chill Xspc is also good barrow makes good fittings although they are kinda pricey last time I checked. And as you stated EK is always a good choice. If you have any other questions feel free to ask you can always msg me and I'll try to help -
Ok I just reinstalled my 6600k and running prime95 I'm not getting temps above 55c could I have a bad 6700k or could it just be that it just runs a bit on the warm side ? Also I should be able to just switch out the CPU as long as I reset bios to default correct?
-
I was thinking that myself but,I seem to have ha fair amount of flow
-
I was thinking these were a bit high but I'm at a loss for the cause I have even re applied the thermal paste and checked for air trapped somewhere and still get the same temps
-
ok so i recently switched up a bunch of my pc i went from a 6600k to a 6700k and i also switched cases from a corsair 750d with 2x alpha cool nexxxos xt45 240mm radiators to a be quiet dark base 900 pro with 2 bitspower leviathan 360mm 30mm thick radiators and am having issues with my temps being about 20 degrees C higher underload. temps at idle are 29C and temps under load are 70 C and this is with out an overclock

CPU temps with Corsair H80i seem a little high...
Mdmit87 replied to NinjaSandvich's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I'm not sure if your using a z170 mobo or not , with my Gigabyte z170x gamming 7 i have noticed my 6700k overvolts to 1.4v even if i have the voltage set to 1.25v, i would check your voltage during a benchmark, if it is overvolting try changing to and adaptive voltage and setting an offset to limit voltage- 13 replies

You could always look into just a cpu loop and expand from there. Ek makes kits you can buy that have everything you need for a cpu loop. All you would need to expand is 2 more fittings and a gpu block, along with some extra tubing. Here is a link to one of the EK kits https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-kit-p360

I figured out adaptive voltage let's see if this fixes it -
I7 6700k high vcore at stock speeds or is it something else
Mdmit87 replied to Mdmit87's topic in Troubleshooting
i'm not entirely sure how to set up adaptive voltage on my gaming 7 or if it even has a setting for it -
I'm running a i7 6700k at the stock speed and i'm using a Gigabyte z170x gaming 7 running bios F8. This is all in a be quiet dark base 900 pro with a custom loop with cpu and gpu which is a msi gtx 1080 sea hawk ek. i also have 2 360mm radiators. my issue is that if i set my vcore voltage to auto it sets the voltage at 1.3v and i get temps underload of 72 to 74C and thats throwing me off because my 6600k o.c to 4.5Ghz and 1.32v only hit 60c, so i'm confused about whats going on here also the 6600k build was in a corsair 750d with 2 240mm 45mm thick radiators and my new ones are only 30mm thick. temps are being monitored with HWMonitor

I apologize for not responding until now, but i sent PPC's an email and yes they will customize a block for you

Why not one of these kits http://www.performance-pcs.com/swiftech-cpu-liquid-cooling-kit-ppcs-custom-biohazard-edition.html or go custom loop and order one of their blocks
