So how much would these cards be in Canada? Was hoping to get a 1080 but might have to get a 1070 instead because budget reasons.

Steam gauge: Who has the most valuable steam account
EarthwormJoe replied to Neutronicsoup's topic in PC Gaming
"Over the last 5 years, you've spent 1302 hours playing this selection, which includes 459 items, is valued at $6740.78, and requires 2191 GB" Well then. -
That'd be great if I was doing a Mini ITX build, but my current mobo is ATX Was looking at this earlier, probably gonna go with this since it's cheaper then the one I wanted originally, and the extra HDD bays is nice if I ever pick up some more. It's on Newegg and Amazon from what I'm seeing, but sold out on both. I like the look of it, but it's a bit out of my price range.

I need something that'll fit an XFX R9 390, four 3.5" HDDs (and maybe an SSD in the future), a 5.25" optical drive, and maybe something that'll be decent for water cooling if I decide to get a Corsair H55 or something like that.

650w PSU enough to overclock an FX-8320?
EarthwormJoe replied to EarthwormJoe's topic in Power Supplies
So if I wanted to get an FX-8320, I'm screwed if I use the G46? Not even something like an Antec Spot Cool would help? The motherboard was also something I'd like to not have to upgrade >.< -
650w PSU enough to overclock an FX-8320?
EarthwormJoe replied to EarthwormJoe's topic in Power Supplies
I know I would, I mainly got AMD because when I built my current rig I was on a pretty tight budget (still kinda am for these upgrades too). Only thing stopping me right now is having to get a new motherboard as well and have to reinstall Windows and all that, which I just don't wanna have to deal with at the moment. Maybe once AMD's Zen CPUs come out I'll make my decision. -
650w PSU enough to overclock an FX-8320?
EarthwormJoe replied to EarthwormJoe's topic in Power Supplies
Mostly just gaming and web browsing, sometimes Video editing/Photoshop when I need to So how far WOULD I be able to get it? If I can get it to at least be on par with an FX-8350 I'd be satisfied -
So I'm planning on upgrading a few things in the next few weeks, mainly the graphics card from an R9 270X to an R9 390, and 8GBs of RAM to 16GB, but I'm also planning to upgrade my FX-6300 to an FX-8320 (was gonna get an FX-8350, but decided to get the 8320 and use the money saved to buy a decent CPU cooler). One of the things I DON'T wanna have to upgrade is the XFX Pro650W I got last year, since I already paid a decent amount for it when my old OCZ 750w crapped out, and because I won't have enough to afford a new one. So my question is simple, can I overclock an FX-8320 to maybe the same level as an FX-8350 or a bit higher on a 650w PSU and not have any problems? (from my understanding XFX/Seasonic is a pretty damn good brand). My motherboard is an MSI 970A G46 if it matters.

So I recently tried out Saint's Row IV from Steam's free weekend and really enjoyed it. It's also one of the games I supposedly can get with my new R9 270x when I get it. So I went to AMD's website to see what else I can get and it isn't there. Hell, the Gold rewards are exactly the same as the Silver rewards. This just a mistake or is AMD really being THIS lazy... http://sites.amd.com/us/promo/never-settle/Pages/nsreloadedforever.aspx

Anyways, I just had a major derp moment only to remember that my GPU comes with them. Mods or whoever feel free to delete the thread

So something like this? (Sorry if I'm being confusing, I know my fair share about computers, but Power supplies are the one thing that I barely know about ) http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200106

Connects from the red ports on my Power Supply straight to my Graphics card.

So I just ordered an R9-270x which needs 2 6-pin power cables instead of the 1 I have for my GTS 250. I've looked all over sites like NCIX, Newegg, etc. and can't find it anywhere. Is there a specific name for the cable or could someone find me a link to order one?

Eh, not too bad. I was playing Crysis 1 maxed out a few minutes ago and it was pretty playable. It plays MOST games pretty well at around medium, I can probably live with it for a few more months, only reason I'm not sure about getting the CPU/Motherboard first is because I'll also have to buy Windows 7 (copy currently using is not genuine) unless I want to leave them in the package while I save up the cash to get it. I'm also gonna try and get my Laptop sold ASAP and then I'll hopefully have another $300 (That'd be enough for the GPU + new RAM).

So earlier this year (May, June?) I bought an older Gaming PC for $325, it's working pretty good so far and the only problems I had was when I first got it and it would go to the recovery screen (I did a system restore and haven't had it again since) and the computer shutting down during games like Skyrim, Mass Effect and hell even the SRIV Character customization (No other games have had this problem, not even BF4 ) and I'm assuming it's my CPU overheating (it still has the stock Intel cooler). I also bought this intending to upgrade, and since my birthday is coming up very soon I'll finally have some money to get started. Right now I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E7500, a GTS 250 and 4Gbs of RAM (full list on my profile), and am planning to upgrade to an FX-6300, an R9 270X and 8Gbs of RAM. I'm hoping to have about $200 by then and will have enough money to upgrade either the CPU+Mobo or GPU, but if I get the CPU+Mobo I'd also have to get a copy of Windows 7 since it isn't genuine on mine (the PC was used BTW) so then I could buy them but then have to wait and get money for Windows 7. But if I get the GPU, I KNOW I'll have a bottleneck there. So should I get the CPU+Mobo or the GPU? Or just say screw it and upgrade the RAM and other stuff?
