  1. I put a different GPU and SSD on it and it updated, even with the same flash drive I used before. I'm confused but relieved.
  2. It's correct. The next BIOS, 2901, won't flash, nor will the newest BIOS. BIOS Download Page I have tried a few BIOS and ran the renamer when included and still no luck. Some of the older ones have a long name and no renamer file, is there any particular name it should have? Or do I just need any 7 letters, dot, and 3 more letters? None of them say they require a previous version installed, but I did try the next one anyway, and no luck. Edit: I ran the renamer on the next consecutive BIOS, 2901, and that still gave me the same error.
  3. I made sure and it’s the regular B450F Gaming, not the B450F Gaming II. Bios version 2801 is not listed for the B450F Gaming II The internet flash didn’t work either.
  4. I got a Strix B450F Gaming (not Gaming II) from a friend to help my coworker build his first PC. He’s going to be getting a 5th Gen Ryzen CPU and my friend told me the BIOS probably isn’t up to date, so I put a spare Ryzen 5 1600 in to flash it. It’s currently on version 2801, Win 10 and most recent chipset drivers downloaded. I tried to flash it via USB and on the SSD, but neither worked. I tried the newest bios version (5003) as well as the next one from my current one (2901) on both drives and it would either say “Selected file is not a proper BIOS!” or something along the lines of “File could not be read.” I tried several times with several drives. USB 2.0 and 3.0 formatted as FAT32, as well as adding a M.2 and downloading it on there but none worked. I tried flashing it from the internet, but I still got the “Selected file is not a proper BIOS!” Is there anything else I should try? Could I have a corrupted BIOS?
  5. I’m stuck. I got a second m.2 so I moved over some documents and photos and did a fresh install of Windows 11 on my main drive. System Specs CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D w/ Mugen 5 cooler GPU: ASRock 6800XT Taichi Mobo: MSI B550 Tomahawk RAM: 64GB Corsair 3200MHZ PSU: Thermaltake Grandpower RGB 850W Storage: SK Hynix Platinum 2TB main, just added Intel 670P 2TB The GPU was recently replaced from a recent RMA for Radeon driver crashing issues. The rest of the system was purchased in November/December of last year While the install media ran on my USB, I was playing Rainbow 6 Siege and my screens went green for a second and went back to normal a few times. I did the fresh install shortly after and installed all of my drivers and some games, then the same thing happened but more frequently with some artifacts. Sometimes I lose discord voice audio but not the sound affects like muting and deafening. Sometimes the screens turn green and my PC turns off, but not a green error screen just solid green. I added a photo of one of the event logs. Here’s what I have tried: •The fresh install •Re installing display drivers fatter using DDU •Enabling/Disabling Kombo Strike •Command prompt DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, sfc /scannow, and chkdsk •Changing background and disabling animation •Changing display refresh rates Running games windowed- this seemed to help a little •Windows 10 fresh install after all of this, and the problem persists but not as bad so far I reinstalled Corsair iCUE and while messing with mouse settings the screen flickered once for the first time since this fresh install. I finished messing with settings and uninstalled iCUE to see if that could have been the problem. I switched mice too. I played Deep Rock Galactic and had a quick flicker two times but not bad and no crashes. I have enough extra parts to troubleshoot piece by piece, but I want to see if there are any other solutions or troubleshooting methods to try before tearing it all apart. (R5 1600, Strix X370, 16GB Corsair RAM, Seasonic 750W, Strix 5700XT). pls help
  6. This has been happening for about a month. I have a Ryzen 5 1600 3800 mhz @ 1.325 and a 1070 but this happened before the overclock and right around the time I got the 1070. It happened mostly when playing Rainbow 6 Siege and happened again last night when playing Modern Warfare. Temps are fine, never above 60. I'm thinking it's a PSU problem but I've searched several times and the results are about people turning off their PC and fans still spin, which seemed to be because of a faulty PSU. Has anyone else had or seen a similar problem? What would be the best way to go about troubleshooting? Thank you!
  7. I have three monitors connected to my MSI GTX 1060 6GB. They are all 1080p but one is 144hz and the others are 60. They have functioned flawlessly but just a few minutes ago I woke my computer up and my 144hz was not detecting any input. It is connected via Displayport to the GPU. I tried using in different ports and they all worked but only when just two monitors were plugged in. As soon as the third was plugged in, the 144hz would stop detecting input. One of the ports on the GPU is messed up from a user error so I can't test it but I have no idea what the issue. Everything was fine a few hours ago. This particular card has an issue with the fan at the back where it won't spin and the front fan will spin as fast as possible. I then flick the back fan and it starts spinning and the front one slows down and they both stop or spin slowly. I know that I need to RMA the card, but could this be related to the monitor issue? Any help is appreciated!
