Frankie reacted to Nup in Frankie's modded Air 540 Build
Man your attention to detail is a pleasure. Nice to see it. Love the switch mod. Iv always wanted to mod in a switch like that (or the fire button style ones) as an on off switch.
Build is looking classy! Also what fan solution are you thinking of? Is the mobo's one not idea of just for cabling?

UPDATE:
Well the forum told me I should start a new thread instead of start this one back up but it's the history that makes this thread what it is. Here's a little teaser. This isn't gonna be a big update at first. Just small stuff but by summer it should be in full swing. Help me bring this build back, I'll post some more pics tomorrow if it's not snowing still.

Frankie reacted to Oshino Shinobu in Choosing LED Switch
LED strips draw a tiny amount of power, a 2A switch should be fine. If you want to be really safe, you could use a 5A relay.

12V at 5A is 60W.
With 60W of LEDs in your system, what switch to use is gonna be the least of your worries
You'll be fine with a 2A switch

Hey don't judge me, maybe I wanna recreate Las Vegas in my case.
Thanks for the input.

Absolute worst case scenario (assuming really bad electrical design): each LED will consume 30 mA, with 15 LEDs that is a mere 0.45A. Before you say "but the resistors!", that is considering the resistors. Resistors act as voltage droppers, so the same current flows through them as does through the LEDs for any given array. In my experience though, a strip containing 80 RGB LEDs at full brightness will only consume about 0.8A.
In a nutshell, a 2A switch will be more than fine. 5A is just overkill
Cheers

Frankie got a reaction from JoaoPRSousa in Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Coming at you with a friedly tip.
I'm in a proces of restoring a vintage ''bike-cycle'' cleaning parts, buying parts and whatnot and watched a YT video how to get rust from chrome parts. Dude pretty much said to use tinfoil as a sandpaper with some water. I was skeptical but what the hell, tinfoil isn't exactly priceless. This time internet didn't fuck me over and it works.
My phone doesn't have the best camera so use imagination. The part on the right looked somewhat similar to the part on the left, maybe just a bit better. About 5 minutes and some elbow grease later it looks much, much better and it even smoothed out the pitted parts.
Obligatory gif.

Frankie got a reaction from Andrew Storlie in Building a new desk, putting Pc inside and need help with mounting
For the fans and mobo, you can just print out simple templates, mark the holes, drill. Or maybe gut and cut and old case ?

DDR stands for double data rate. The 933mhz shown in CPU-Z is doubled to make 1866mhz.

Frankie reacted to Damikiller37 in Looking for that special ONE. (case)
How about the new Corsair Crystal Series 460X RGB or the standard 460x. That should be enough tempered glass in one case to satisfy your needs. Unsure about the price since it's only been announced.

Update:
For the cable management I used some custome cable combs. Of course made by Gosumodz.
If you are at the Gamescom in Cologne at the moment, you can visit the booth of Mifcom to take a look at this project.
Some more work in progress in pics will follow.

Frankie got a reaction from Lewiskyy in I am upgrading my PC and need some help...
Seems fine to me. What PSU you have btw ? If you're upgrading to these pretty nice parts, nice PSU should be also on the list. You don't really want to spend this much money and run the HW on some shitty PSU.

Sure thing. That's why I mentioned it, fellow Air 540 owner.

Frankie got a reaction from don_svetlio in CSGO fps problem
@don_svetlio is definitely right, VS units are good for office PCs and that's about it. Go for PSUs he mentioned or something like a EVGA G2 550W would be also perfect.
