  1. Hi all, I am looking at getting a 34inch curved ultrawide for productivity work. I will mainly be using it for the screen real estate and a bit of photo editing and I do not want to break the bank. I have found this one and was wondering if this is any good? Link This seems to be a decent Black Friday deal. Should I pull the trigger on this one or is there something better at a similar price? thanks!
  2. Cheers! do you know if I will need a better spec Mobo for a 5700g? I have read a few bits about VRM issues on the cheaper ones but unsure how bad they get affected thanks! EDIT: ignore the above, I have researched and the VRMs should be fine for a 5600g (which I will go for as it is more than adequate) the main point I need help with is ensuring I have a motherboard with a good enough hdmi for a 3440x1440 output and ensure it has the correct bios flash to use the 5600g. Is there a way I can confirm this?
  3. One of these from a while back. From the days running an overclocked 8320 and 280x haha https://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/Antec-High-Current-Gamer-HCG-850M-80Plus-Bronze-Modular-850-Watt_49562.html
  4. Damn I was going to buy this but sold before I got home from work. I am considering buying some bits in the Black Friday sales and building my own. I already have a power supply and I have managed to spec a b550 mobo, ryzen 7 5700g, 16gb ram and 1tb m2 ssd for around £350 which I feel is a good price. i dont have my old windows key anymore but i think you can get a license online for peanuts if i recall. what do you think for future proof and light games. I will keep looking for any big deals on eBay!
  5. Managed to find this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276166666420?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ZXm-EXmURaO&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Zwo5a7BCR_O&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY seems to have a caring owner from what I can tell and seems a good price. Would be nice to have a GPU but I can always get a cheap one to add
  6. Thanks both! I personally don’t mind building or buying. it definitely looks like I can get a nice used system on eBay, I will take a look!
  7. Thanks. i have found both of these linked below 9th gen with more storage/ram 10th gen (so hyper threading too) but less storage/ram bear in mind I can currently get 20% off the 10th gen one too so I could use that money to upgrade some bits. Do these look good? Thanks!
  8. Budget (including currency): £500 max Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: general computer tasks, max will be very light games or some photo editing. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have peripherals all sorted Hi all, it has been a very long time since I have posted on here! I have been out of the PC game for a few years and I want to make an office pc that I can use when working at home. I want this to be pretty compact, maybe even desk top and be able to run general office tasks efficiently. The max I will need to play is some light games or watching 4k video for example, I don’t game heavily anymore. I am unsure what the latest processors are anymore. what do you suggest? thanks!!!
  9. Okay thanks! Will get searching for a stick to purchase, appreciate the reply.
  10. Hi all, I have a Lenovo E595 which I use for all of my uni work and it currently has 8GB of RAM. It is only using 1 slot to do this so I was considering upping this to 16GB as it will help with programmes like CAD. However I know that it isn't the best idea to mix sets of RAM so is it okay just buying another 8GB stick with the same speed rating and installing this? Thanks again Pro
  11. Yeah I feel like I may be in the same boat as you, going from Android to iOS. It’s looking like the iPhone 11 for me
  12. I actually find the phone quite responsive and fast to load things which is nice. The screen to small extent only because I had an amoled before but that's something I'm used to now. The camera setup. A camera improvement would be the main thing as the current one is a bit meh. Mainly social media, YouTube, emails, music, nfc payments, photos etc... I've found some apps have been glitchy on me with them crashing or not working as intended. Software. Support so far is not bad but I intend to keep my next phone for longer than this one.
  13. Yeah I guess it does. I was planning on waiting till black Friday for a deal but I guess it's hard to predict what's gonna happen so wanted to gauge other people's opinions on it. Thanks for the input
  14. Hi guys So I am currently rocking an Honor View 20 which has been quite a solid phone for the price I got it for, but I've had it a while so was thinking of upgrading, plus my mum is in need of a new phone as hers is starting to play up so I'd donate her my old one. My dilemma is deciding on which to purchase. At the moment the 2 main contenders are the OnePlus 8T and the iPhone 11. Real word performance is very similar from the research that I've done. The main difference seems to be the 120HZ Amoled in the OP as opposed the LCD in the iPhone but I'm not sure how much id notice this day to day. Price wise for me the OP starts at £549 and the iPhone £599 but I'm planning on seeing if there will be any Black Friday deals for them. I used to prefer androids massively but since acquiring an iPad air 3 for Uni work I have begun to like iOS again, especially with the optimization and long software support. So essentially I am asking what you would recommend and why. If you have any questions for me don't hesitate to ask. Many Thanks Kieran

  16. That is lucky haha Just to check before I order, I assume it will work all fine? I have compared it to the Realtek one and it looks identical, it just has newer features like WiFi 6 which I’m not sure if they would affect compatibility at all?
  17. Yeah I’ve read that the Realtek ones have loads of issues. Thank you for the help I have found one on amazon, the ax200ngw, I assume that is the same thing and will work fine with my laptop?
  18. Ah I see so CNVi Versions won’t work with AMD? By default it’s a Realtek 8822BE according to Device Manager
  19. Hi everyone So i have a Lenovo e595 and it has issues where it sometimes disconnects from the WiFi or the connection becomes unstable. From further research apparently the oem WiFi card is the culprit. I was just wondering is it as simple as swapping the cards out and doing drivers to change it? I was looking for a suitable card and came across the intel 9260, would this work? Many thanks Kieran
  20. Cheers, if there's a good deal might have to just go for it
  21. I see for the distancing. So would you recommend going for a bit of a bigger one. I did put my mates 40" TV in my room for scale and it was a lot bigger than expected so I genuinely believe a 43" will be great. What do you think of that one you linked? I believe it would be a similar sort of TV.
  22. Thanks for the suggestion, I should note I live in England so will most likely purchase from amazon or currys (an electronics store here). It is prime day tomorrow too so there may be some deals on. My main worry is I am not too sure what sort of TVs are good or not as ive heard some horror stories with cheaper ones.
  23. Sorry should have mentioned the TV will be for my room so I will be sitting around 3m away max so I do not think I need bigger than 43"? My budget is around £350 so anything around there really Hmm I might have to take a look, just not sure if I will have the space in my room for one that size
  24. Hi everyone So I will be purchasing an Xbox Series X around Christmas time this year and will want to make full use of the 4K capabilities that it has. I have a budget of around £350 for a new 4K tv and there seems to be good options for this price point. I don't need the biggest tv which is why I was looking at 43 inch ones as that seems to be industry smallest for 4k. It will only be used for gaming, some uni lectures and the odd YouTube video. I was thinking the Hisense 43AE7400FTUK but I'm not sure how this will fare in gaming or how it will look as I know cheaper tvs tend to be worse but the reviews seemed decent. I have read about HDMI 2.1 being implemented in the Series X but from looking I don't think I will utilize the features enough to justify the cost of a TV with it. Basically I am a TV noob and was wondering what you would suggest. Many Thanks Kieran
