  1. Hi all. So I'm looking at getting a budget headset, and originally I was going to get the Corsair HS50. However, there is a sale on the Logitech G233 Prodigy. Which one should I get? Currently with the sale the Prodigy is cheaper, however its usually more expensive. You can suggest others, but they have to be around the same price as the HS50, and they need a microphone
  2. Someone on the Overclockers forum was asking the same thing. https://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/783577-CPU-Coolers-for-LGA771-Socket All I could find are stock coolers, and other random stuff on Newegg and Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/E33832-001-Intel-Xeon-Socket-771-Cooler/dp/B00GZHGQFK https://www.newegg.com/global/nz-en/p/pl?N=100008000 600035346&isnodeid=1
  3. Hi all Recently I've been having some problems with my phone. I am looking for a new phone, I'm not actually going to buy a new one just yet, I'm only curious to see what specs I should be aiming for. About 400NZD (264USD) would be the max, only push that if its worth it. My current phone is a Vodafone Smart Ultra 7, 2 years old now Can a moderator please move this to the right section, I'm on a phone and didn't realise its in the wrong one
  4. Will the list include categories, like best CPUs for overclocking, best multi threaded performance, best single threaded performance, best overall, best price to performance etc?
  5. Wait if you get the $1 monthly today, will it always be $1, or will it go to the normal price? I'm assuming normal price.
  6. I say keep the XR I mean, it can out-perform older laptops (like mine). Ask yourself whether you would prefer the cash, or prefer the phone.
  7. What power supply is it? Some are good, others are bad
  8. Yeah, tech is expensive here. Here are some other ones I found that are in my price range, What are your opinion on these? - The Corsair HS50 (https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/Categories/Products/Gaming-Headsets/Stereo-Headsets/hs50-config-na/p/CA-9011170-NA) - The Hyperx Cloud Stinger (https://www.hyperxgaming.com/en/headsets/cloud-stinger-gaming-headset)
  9. Hi all I'm looking for an affordable headset with a good mic, decent sound (I'll only be gaming with it, no need to be overkill with sound), and it needs to last for a decent amount of time before it breaks. They have to be priced under 100NZD (66.65USD). I already have headphones, but they don't have a microphone. I was also thinking of getting a stand alone microphone (ModMic4 or 5????) After looking through many lists I have come up with 3 headsets that look good for me. - The Razer Kraken X (https://www.razer.com/gaming-audio/razer-kraken-x) - The Corsair HS50 (https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/Categories/Products/Gaming-Headsets/Stereo-Headsets/hs50-config-na/p/CA-9011170-NA) - The Hyperx Cloud Stinger (https://www.hyperxgaming.com/en/headsets/cloud-stinger-gaming-headset) Please tell me your opinions, feel free to recommend others if you want. Thanks in advance
  10. Unfortunately they are both out of my price range. I need something cheaper than 100 New Zealand Dollars. The Hyperx Cloud 2 is 160, and the other one is 120 on a discount.
  11. Hi all I'm looking at getting a headset. It has to be under 100NZD. I thought this would be quite good https://www.razer.com/gaming-audio/razer-kraken-x
  12. The H7 has a 120mm fan, the M9i has a 92mm fan. If your case can fit the H7, then that has better performance from what I can see

    New Microphone

Hi all In the future I am looking for a microphone, as I am currently having to use my laptop as a "microphone", while gaming on my PC. Are there any decent microphones out there? I'm not really interested in a headset, but if its really good, then I'll consider it. I'm looking at something preferably under 100 NZD, maybe a bit over if its a good deal. I was thinking of the ModMic (I'd probably get the 4 because I'm cheap like that) I will most likely be buying it during a sale, maybe Black Friday
  14. Unless you need an AIO for specific reasons, it would be better to get an air cooler, as air cooler are better than water coolers, unless you want to buy a top of the line AIO
  15. I'm just looking for a new router. I could probably get it replaced, but I don't think it's the best, I just want something good
  16. Hi all. My internet router has been acting up a bit recently. I don't know much about networking stuff, would anyone be able to recommend a good router? Obviously I don't want it to be too expensive, above 150NZD isn't that great, 200NZD maybe if its really really good. I am on a fibre connection, I will be having anywhere from 4-10 devices connected at the same time, one of them on 5GHz. PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT looking for diagnosis for my current router, I just want to know what options I have if I decide to replace it. My current router is called a Huawei HG659b, I got it included with my Spark plan
  17. Do you really need the minor performance buff? Yes you will be getting PCIe 4.0, but there isn't much point in that yet, because as of yet Intel haven't switched to PCIe 4.0, so we'll be seeing PCIe 3.0 stuff around for a while. If you are using this for gaming/streaming I'd say it's perfectly capable, no need to go through the hassle of returning it.
  18. I'm going to assume that 570 boards will be expensive, also PCIe 4.0 isn't really needed yet. I'm not planning to have the latest hardware, just hardware that can run my games
  19. Would an X370 motherboard support 3rd gen Ryzen?
  20. So this is my current build. It's a recent build, most of the parts are second hand. I was just wondering what some good upgrades might be in the future? I can't give an exact price range, but the cheaper the better, as long as it's worth doing it (e.g no point really in going to Ryzen 3 1st gen, not enough improvement for the cost). I was thinking maybe a 3rd gen Ryzen motherboard, maybe with a Ryzen 3 3rd gen, or even a Ryzen 5 2nd gen. I'd love to overclock. I was also thinking of upgrading my case. I'm not looking to upgrade my storage, it's fine for now. Also note I will be getting a microphone of some sort soon
  21. CPU-Z isn't always right. It showed my memory as 665MHz, when it's actually at 1333MHz (even Windows got it right)
  22. Hello all. I am going to get a streaming device to stream mainly Netflix (maybe Lightbox as well, it's a New Zealand rip-off of Netflix I think). Would a Roku Express or a Chromecast be better? The Chromecast is $9 cheaper when I factor in shipping costs. Note: I have a 1080p TV
  23. Hi all. I have a rather old non-smart TV. I am soon to be getting a Netflix and Lightbox (New Zealand's rip-off of Netflix) subscription. Would the best way to watch these on my TV be to buy a Chromecast? I don't know much about them, so which would be best? Note: I have heard about the Apple TV, but I haven't investigated that much, and I assume that it's overpriced. Note 2: It's a 1080p TV, not sure about the refresh rate though. Note 3: We use Sky TV as our television provider, I'm assuming that something like a Chromecast won't affect that
  24. I would say that it is still an adequate machine for what you are using it for, the price to performance upgrade with going to 8th gen Intel or Zen 2 Ryzen isn't worth it, unless you needed the CPU performance for something.
  25. What are some good benchmark programs for a GPU?
