  1. It runs 3200 fine at cl 15 but i cannot get it to 3400 let alone any higher. I have shoved almost 2 volts threw it and i can get the timings lower for a bench mark or 2 but thats it
  2. So i am trying to get some info on why my 32gb kit of g.skill trident z rgb 3200 cl 16 wont overclock past the 3200 mhz. I can tighten the timings to 15-15-15-30 with a tRFC of 450 and tCMD 1 i cant get the trfc below 450 no matter what and i cant get the ram over 3200. I have tried voltages all the way up to 1.9 and timings at cl20 trying to get over 3200. Do i just have a shity kit of memory or do i need to get a new motherboard? Thanks for the read and i hope someone has some advice for me.
  3. So a high bclk wont damage anything? Also i thought ram was safe up to 1.45 daily? When u say loosen the timings what do u mean increase them? They are at 15-15-15-36
  4. So im new to overclocking and i haave some questions about safe voltages and blck mulitipliers. I am running a 1700x on a gigabyte ax370 k5 motherboard with a 120mm evga aio cpu cooler. I currently have my system running at 4.1 ghz at 1.38 volts and my ram is at 3200 speed cl 15 at 1.44 volts with the soc running at 1.218 volts. I have the bclk set at 104.00 to get to 4.1 and 3200 mhz but im not sure if that is ok/safe to run 24/7. Any advice on the situation will be appreciated! Also are my voltages ok?
  5. It is fat 32 forsure. Thank you i will give that a try now. Also any advice on installing windows onto the nvme drive? I have tried twice now and both times it would only give me part1 or the nvme on the boot menu and when i would try to select part 1 i would just get the windows window screen without the loading circle
  6. So i am new to building pc's. I just finished my personal build and im having trouble updating the bios. System specs... + Ryzen 7 1700x + gigabyte k5 mobo + 16 gb of g.skill trident z 3200 ram + wd black nvme 256gb + Samsung 840 500gb + seagate 1tb hdd + evga 1070ti ftw2 + evga 120mm clc + evga supernova g2 750 watt psu + phanteks p400s case So i am trying to flash the bios to the f5 bios from the f4 but for some reason my mobo will not read the files on my flash drive. I have formatted the flash drive and cleared the partition. I load into the Q flash screen and it says part 0.1...etc but it will not read anything from that drive. Please help i have no idea what to do at this point and i have a $1500+ system just sitting there while im stuck on a hp laptoo. Thanks for the read and advice!
  7. Thats why i am thinking of udins the i3 its as good as the 7th gen i5 from what i understand?
  8. Im looking at gaming at 1440 at 60 to 75 hz not really into the 4k. My draw to the i3 is i have seen alot of people oc to 4.5 or higher and from a purly gaming point i feel like that would be great. Also if i dont create any content nor will i use it for anything but game play. The i3 with 4 cores seens like that would be enough until i decide to upgrade to the 8th gen i7. But im a noob at the pc building and want to make the best educated choice so i am here lol!!!
  9. Im looking at building a i5 8600k coffee lake gaming pc with a 1070 . In the states i can build it for about 1000$ usd but i want to get some thoughts on going straight to the i5 or maybe starting at the 8th gen i3 oc instead. Or a different processer gen/brand in general. Need advice!!!
