  1. So my PC has an IP of 192.168.2.3 on this network, which i presume is the "interface" in route add. If I add a static route 192.168.2.0/24 and pass it through this "interface" it should work, right?
  2. Hello, I would like to have a PC with two Ethernet ports, one of which would be connected to the main network, with access to the Internet (lets say this network is 192.168.1.0). The other would be local, accessible only through this one PC. Lets say this network has an address 192.168.2.0 and I want to access one of devices (like a NAS(lets say it has an IP 192.168.2.2)) through a web browser. How will the PC behave if I type 192.168.2.2 into the browser, and how can I make sure it wont try to look that up in the primary network with access to the Internet? Any help/advice is appreciated..
  3. A friend of mine asked me to build her a gaming PC. The PC booted first time, no problems at all. A day later, she told me that the pc started experiencing artifacts, as can be seen in the uploaded pics. I went there and tried a only a handful of things, because she was going somewhere. - It's not the monitor or the cable, because when I removed the GPU and plugged the HDMI cable into the motherboard it was working fine. - it works fine in safe mode. - i updated the chipset drivers and gpu drivers, but nothing changed. - I disabled every start up program except for the eset antivirus, didn't help. - the most mind boggling is the fact that when I put it into my pc it works (I borrowed the card for the weekend) I can't believe that something like that can be caused by a software/driver. I have yet to try Windows repair. I can try updating the bios. I doubt it's a faulty pcie slot. Could it be a faulty vram?? The specs are: Gainward GTX 1060 6GB I5 8400 Asrock Z370M Pro4 2x8gb corsair vengeance 2666mhz ddr4 Any advice is appreciated.
  4. Just to be sure, I updated the BIOS to the newest 1.D version. May or may not help, will keep an eye on the thing.
  5. I have another PC with an enermax PSU, could try to swap them and see what happens. Could still be the front panel connectors tho.
  6. Hello. I've had this problem ever since I built the pc way back in 2014. Basically everytime I went away for more than a day, the pc would turn itself on, sometimes more than once. Lately I even encountered that PC turned itself on 3 times in a row within a couple of minutes. After that I tried to turn the PSU off. After a few seconds I heard a click from the powersupply followed by another one shortly after. (note: this is normal, happens everytime I turn the pc on or off). The PC tried to boot AGAIN but there was no power. I tried many things: Setting wake on lan events to be managed by bios/os, disabling every wake on lan option in windows , updating bios, but none of that helped. My specs are in my signature (is that what it's called? Anyway it's the I5 4690k one). I could be there's a wire that's short-circuited, however the pc never turned itself off randomly. What else could it possibly be? A bad PSU? A bad motherboard? Am I overlooking something?
  7. Hi everyone, so I was at my friend's house and I installed Windows 10 on his PC (clean install), because it was bluescreening like crazy. I've had to clear the CMOS, because the mobo at some point refused to start. Anyway it still bluescreened, even after installing the latest drivers from nvidia and gigabyte (for motherboard) websites. Over the course of 2 weeks the following blue screens occured: 4x 0x4e 1x 0xde 1x 0x1a 1x 0x1c7 1x 0x139 1x 1x12b It's quite the list and I have no clue as to what on Earth could be causing so many different BSOD codes. Any help will be appreciated.
  8. As I said tho, the R9 270 will most likely die at some point soon. Now I wanna know how much can OCing change?
  9. So an RX 460 or 1050 (Ti) is a better suit, as I thought....
  10. the thing is, he doesn't need more CPU power, but by the looks of it he'll be needing a new GPU soon
  11. That I know, however I'm concerned about it being bottlenecked by the CPU. Also The price is much higher than the other GPUs.
  12. My brother has a PC with an FX-6350 in it, which is paired with a R9 270. The issue is that the GPU already died twice, but I managed to "bake" it and breathe some life back into it. I checked whether or not the GPU is overheating, and surprise, surprise... it's not. Because of these incidents, I started to look at some new GPUs to pair with the CPU. He's not an extremely intensive gamer, only plays games such as WoW, LoL, CS:GO, Hearthstone and so on. I narrowed my choice to these GPUs for these prices: Sapphire RX 460 (2 GB) - 96,23€ - It's about 10€ cheaper than the RX 560 2 GB and the performance is about the same so why not? Sapphire RX 460 (4 GB) - 115,58€ - Once again about 10€ cheaper than the equivalent RX 560 Sapphire Pulse RX 570 - 207,56€ - Probably the most powerful card I'd pair with that CPU, also RX 470 is no longer sold here MSI GTX 1050 - 113,83€ MSI GTX 1050 Ti - 145,99€ Despite really wanting to support AMD, I've read that with lower-powered CPUs, even AMDs, nVidia GPUs tend to outperform the AMD equivalents. The RX 460 delivers about the same performance as the current GPU, however it halves the power consumption, which is nice. I'm not sure the RX 570 wouldn't be bottlenecked too much. And thus I feel like buying the GTX 1050/1050Ti. One more thing to add, the CPU is currently stock, however it's cooled by the infamous CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo, so overclocking it IS an option. But I'd like to know what you think, that's why I made this topic after all. Thanks for any suggestions
  13. I wouldn't mind formating an SSD, I would mind formating the HDD, that already has data on it. The question is whether that HDD needs to be formated if I want to use an SRT SSD with it.
  14. So, I want to buy a second SSD (Crucial BX100 250GB) for games and I would also like to use a 32 or 64GB partition as an SSD Cache. The question is whether I would have to format my HDD. If it's any help my motherboard is MSI Z97 Gaming 5.
  15. Ok, what is better for the money? Xonar DGX (34€) or Creative Audigy FX (33€). Nobody was really complaining about Creative, whereas with the Xonar people have all kinds of issues.
  16. So, one of the 3.5mm jacks (front speakers) is dying (which means that the audio is (really) terrible and low volume) and unlike the old motherboard I had, I can't reassign what connectors outputs to what speaker and therefore I think I need a new sound card. I've been looking into Xonar DSX but on Amazon I read that if you connect headphones to a front connector, it will switch the output device to headphones, but when you unplug them, it won't switch back to speakers and also that the audio from the front connector is quite quiet. These reviews weren't the newest, so I am asking anyone who owns one of these sound cards, are these problems still present? If so, what's a good alternative in that price range?
  17. Markus looks good and I can actually buy it where I live. But my question would be how tall is the back side? Also how long do you have it and in what condition is it?
  18. I don't know if it belongs here, but I don't know where else to put it. Anyway, I'm looking for a new office chair. That means I'm not interested in those things such as DxRacer because I think they're stupid. I would like for it to have an adjustable head rest because right now, when I lay back, my head is touching the edge of the chair - a metal bar, which to be honest is really uncomfortable. The other requirement I have for it is that it MUST be well built, because my current chair is sinking, squeaks and rattles, and the left side is lower than the right, so the right side bumps into the table while the left one is capable of going under it and so on... Preferably not leather. What options are there?
  19. Well... I would like to finally play GTA V on PC
  20. I just want to know... Can the PC port priority be any lower?
  21. Slight shift? That's two more months of having nothing to do!
  22. Ok, so WoD+BattleChest are roughly 50€... Is it good? Is it worth 50€? And do I get a month for both WoD AND Battlechest (2 months total)?
  23. So, I haven't played WoW since the Lich King, and even then only on unofficial servers. I was wondering if I need to buy every single expansion (battlechest) to access all the content, because I remember hearing that you only need the Warlords of Draenor expansion. Is it true?
  24. I've had my K70 since Christmas. I have Cherry MX Blue switches and I love it and would definitely recommend it. The two main reasons I chose this one is that it has a volume wheel and it's looks (Aluminium)
  25. Yes, I do have Gaming 5, and the mic would be purely for skype. Thanks.
