  1. Say professionals, I'm an individual patched into his wireless network with the use of an adapter card, since stringing an ethernet cable from the router to my place of stay would be unappreciated by my folks. Recently, I've been having some troubles with my connection, with regular minute-per-minute packet loss, and speeds not nearly as good as they used to be. What do symptoms like these mean? Could my adapter card be going out, or is there something going on with my network?
  2. So, let's assume then that someone was looking for a small, powerful card to put in a watercooled build. Would it be better to get a normal Zotac 1080ti Mini and throw a waterblock on that? Or just take the small performance hit and go for a 1080?
  3. When I saw this card came out, I was instantly excited and was looking forward to it popping up on stores so I could get my hands on it. Now, so many months later, and still nothing. In fact, it's almost as if the card doesn't actually exist. The only things that pop up in search engines about this card are Zotac's own page on their website talking about how great it is, and a couple videos on YouTube, including Linus' own, where I first learned about it. After that, almost nothing. No one is selling one, nowhere can I find even posts talking about it. After about 6 results it switches to talking about 1080s and "AMP Extremes." So, tell me forums, did this card ever actually become a real product? Or did I get pranked by Linus?
  4. I mean, the end goal for everything, which is what this is about, would be two systems, one for games and one for encoding, with the encoding PC pushing out 1080p at 60 fps stream quality. I'm just thinking of ways I could go about doing it. SFF with an APU and an internal capture card, external capture card with dedicated graphics...
  5. Disclaimer: This isn't really about money at the moment. It's why I didn't really mention money in my original question, just asking about theoretical performance from much more immersed techies than me, who better understand the numbers and the science in the context of my question. I'm just exploring options and potentialities, I'm nowhere near ready to pull any triggers on anything anywhere. Is this to me, or to O9B?
  6. So, I've been bouncing around the idea of a SFF encoding PC using a Ryzen APU. I was hoping that, if and when I get around to it, to build a separate PC for encoding gameplay for twitch streams, and potentially even making mods for games, so usable for making custom game models and animations. The reason for me wanting to use a SFF case is so that it's more portable, in case I want to stream on the go, if I would have access to another machine for the actual gaming. Also because I'm very much considering an ITX for my gaming rig.
  7. Using the Stock cooler included with the fresh 1200. And no, moving or removing RAM does nothing to solve the problem.
  8. So, a friend of mine has been trying to fix his PC. His old one had an issue where it would shut down after a short time, and we eventually put that issue to the fact his PSU was so utterly clogged with dust, and debris, the fan wouldn't even spin. So, they swapped their PSU out. However, immediately after they've started having a problem where the PC won't even boot to BIOS. Whenever they try to boot the system, by any means, they get a couple seconds of activity; fans spin up, lights come on, then it all shuts right back off again. With the help of an incredibly tech-savvy other friend, they've ended up combing through the entire PC and replacing every major component except the RAM. Parts list, all basically brand new: CPU - Ryzen 3 1200 Motherboard - ASUS Prime B350-E RAM - Team T-Force Dark, 2 8GB sticks, speed unknown. The only parts that were a carry over from the old machine at this point, but it was brand new in the old machine anyway. PSU - EVGA 600B GPU (Irrelevant, due to it being a brand new one that hasn't even had the chance of being plugged in yet) - Gigabyte 1060 6GB Parts were replaced in the order of: PSU, Motherboard, and CPU. Again, GPU isn't an issue, it's literally a brand new part still in box that's not even been taken out yet. The old one was a 750Ti, God only knows the specifics of that.
  9. So, I've been bouncing around the idea of a SFF encoding PC using a Ryzen APU, so I can fill the single PCI-E slot on an ITX motherboard with an internal capture card. I was hoping that if and when I get around to building a separate PC for encoding gameplay for twitch streams, and potentially even making mods for games, so usable for making custom game models and animations. The reason for me wanting to use a SFF case, is so that it's more portable in case I want to, I can stream on the go. If I would have access to another machine for the actual gaming.
  10. So, let's say a guy had a super cheapo Rosewill mATX case, with a power button backlit by a blue LED. And he had the problem that he was gonna put a Red Team build in it, and the blue light right up front would harsh his vibes. #FirstWorldPCProblems If said guy wanted to just change that LED from blue to a soft white, on a scale of 1-10 how difficult would that be to DIY modify? On a similar note, what about swapping out the kinda ugly pink/green front audio ports to the more typical silver?
  11. That was the price for the whole thing. Tower with all the bits, peripherals, etc.
  12. So, back in late March 2016, I went about spending my hard-earned (160 hours in two weeks hard) $1,100 buckaroos on a new PC to use for gaming and streaming. It wasn't much to work with, but I tried my darn-dest and came out... well, kinda on the low end of the spectrum, with an FX 6300 and a GTX 960. Now, a year and three quarters later, there's whole new architecture out, and I'm worried soon I'll have to upgrade. Problem is, to get to where I wanna be is gonna be about another $900, with a Ryzen 5 and a Vega 56. Ryzen 3 seems like a nice, cheap upgrade, but I'm confused about something: With my dinky little setup, I am able to stream and game simultaneously without much trouble, or at least I have been able to so far. But, from what I've heard, the Ryzen 3 isn't powerful enough to do that, even though it's around the same price point mine was when new? And even though the Ryzen 3 is more capable than the FX 8320/50/70, the last-gen processor that was an upgrade from the one I have now? At least, I think that's what I read people saying... Anyway, basically, what's goin' on here? Or am I just missing something?
