I'm looking for the right long term storage solution for me. It's about photo and video files that need to be stored and saved in the long term. Currently there are about 4tb but it will be more than 10tb on duration (it should cost as little as possible) Bluray: Small steps possible little space hdd: classically small effort tape: high entry price Cloud: everything has to be uploaded running costs Do i miss any options what should i use

so what is then the cheapest way to have 3 tb of redundant storage

so the plan is to use this as a off side backup and it should be a raid

a raid because of the redundancy there is always the possibilyt of a drive braking this is what i would do with more expensive drives and that is what i would like to do with cheaper drives

So i was thinking if there is cheaper way to create a raid 1 or 5 or so then buying the cheapest new hard drive which would be at least in germany the Toshiba DT01ACA300 3000gb so it is not importen how loud or fast they are. importent is only the capacity. i was thinking about 3 tb real space in a raid 1 this would be 2x3 tb

so there are sata to ide converters so it is possible and they are cheap so why not but dont forget that this will not be the safes solution

Hay I Have some Fibre Channel hard drives and i need to find a controler solution to use theme what is the cheapest way to controlle them i have about 10 drives

so i have found a paper from seagate and it ist a fc conector

so if this is a sff-8470 how can i cont it to a computer i cant find a card and i need more then 4 drives in the set up
