USB C is a connector. USB is a protocol and so is thunderbolt. If you dont have thunderbolt support (which you dont), you are not going to be using eGPU via USBC.

And how do you plan on adding a eGPU to that thing? In any way, dont waste a dime on a Pentium machine, especially not on a pentium laptop.

    What are your cpu/gpu temps
Ypu might want to reapply the thermal paste as its 3 years old and probably has dried out

can sometimes be a silly thing, but did you plug the pw switch correctly on the mobo? check the cables and if you wanna make sure, try and jump the mobo to boot it

KhakiHat reacted to BondiBlue in Questioning a 1TB to 2TB HDD upgrade
Is this the drive where you have Windows installed? If it is then I'd strongly recommend getting an SSD instead to put Windows on. The difference between running Windows on a mechanical hard drive vs. running Windows on any half decent SATA SSD is night and day, and it won't slow down nearly as much over time.

I thought linus was grinding on one of the guys or something.

Then I watched the video and saw that they are just making cheesy jokes. Lol

Mind your 'B' and 'b'... is your internet speed being measured in megabits and your download being measured in megabytes?

what did you use for the speed test?
and what are some examples of downloads you tried and what software did you use?
and what is your internet speed (im guessing gigabit but I gotta be sure)?

Quote with the arrow at the bottom left of a post and the person will get a notification that you replied.

Typically, the graphics card is the only thing with drivers that get updated regularly. What parts are in your computer?

If you have access to the router, you may be able to limit bandwidth within the router's OS. Probably varies router to router though

KhakiHat got a reaction from RFAurora in PC trouble after home circuit breaker tripped
Well, it's likely not the GPU causing any issues since you still have a display, assuming you tested it with the monitor hooked into you GPU and not the motherboard.

KhakiHat reacted to RFAurora in PC trouble after home circuit breaker tripped
Yeah.  It's the only good thing that I don't have to replace that.  GPU prices may be coming down, but I still don't want to replace it at this time.

Either the sensor is wrong, or you have your temps set to show in CAM Fahrenheit for some reason. Don't do that.

190 F is still 87 C, which is very hot. 120mm AIO's like the Kraken M22 are pointless unless you're doing a sff build where nothing else will fit.

What are the coolers you used before? What is your case? What is the fan configuration?

Hasn't the LHR firmware been around for a like a year now? If there was a workaround for LHR someone would've found it already, and this seems suspicious because the card BIOS is encrypted.

KhakiHat reacted to JohanKjeldahl7 in PSU made a strange electrical noise
Well that are some scary sounds then... I personally would probably switch my PSU as soon as possible, if you can get guarantee in any way (maybe ship the PSU or entire PC to SCAN UK so you don't have to go there yourself). Also I would never run the PC without being nearby right now. It is unlikely that a modern PSU catches on fire randomly but I personally would not risk anything here...
