  1. First i'd check into other possibilities like game settings. And try and get 100% usage our something else like a benchmark, but... Even with fresh and current drivers, i have had issues. Its not likely, but it is possible. Here's an old thread where I ran into this issue and how i went about resolving it.
  2. Most likely yes. I recommend MSI afterburner for system resource usage monitoring if you don't already use it. EDIT: could be something like drivers also
  3. Be sure to check to make sure you dont have framerate limiter or Vsync enabled in the game settings. Edit: Maybe try a benchmark like unigine superposition and see if it hits 100% there.
  4. "And if you feel you got everything you came forIf you got everything and you don't want no moreYou've got it, just keep on pushing and, keep on pushing andPush the sky away" - Nick Cave
  5. An intel 8th or 9th gen Core i5 is not compatible with the H110 chipset. Even though its the same socket.
  6. Its a solid little system on paper for what it is. Its sort of a dead end platform that you're on though. For the games you listed (R6, RocketLeauge, Destiny) I'd reccomend a graphics card upgrade. Any of the following would be a nice upgrade that would increase FPS in those games: GTX 1070 (used) GTX 1660 SUPER, GTX 1660 ti, or maybe a GTX 1660. The rest of you components are kind of budget/lower end, but capable enough for the games you're playing. Upgrading the processor using your existing motherboard feels like a poor-ish choice since an i7 that is compatible with your motherboard just feels like a poor value for the money, not to mention that the anemic VRM on your motherboard would be really toasty if you did. An SSD upgrade would be advisable, but it wont increase FPS. Really you're just looking at an entire new computer beyond a graphics card upgrade. If you decide to build a new system, i advice choosing an AMD platform. If you decide to stay with intel, you can keep your 8gb of ram, especially if you dont care about overclocking. You can also keep you case if you like it and your hard drive if you are satisfied with its performance. If youve got money to spend, I'd sell your current pc and get an all new one. If you're on a budget, i'd upgrade the graphics card now, and start saving for a new system. EDIT: to make the best purchasing decision, I would suggest downloading a monitoring software such as MSI afterburner and then play destiny since its probably your most demanding game and then see just how much of your resources are being taken up. You want to pay attention to GPU usage, CPU usage and RAM usage. If the game is using 99% GPU, 60-70% CPU, and like 6GB ram then you have enough cpu headroom to upgade to better graphics card. If it looks something more like 99% GPU and 90% CPU and 8GB RAM used, you really just need an entire new PC for more performance. You could possibly keep your power supply by the way for the new system, but it is low end and many would advise against this. Its well suited for your current system TBH. if you absolutely had to, you could get more performance out of your current system, you could hypothetically upgrade to a used i7-6700 or used i7-7700 (whichever is cheaper) and then get a new graphics card, but these used i7's are ususally overpriced relative to new stuff. It also just kind of makes the whole system unbalanced.
  7. I saw this on a friend's facebook and I thought my results were interesting and unexpected. Just felt like putting this out there for anyone interested. I suppose its kind of unnecessary to share on LTT forum, but oh well. NBD tho.
  8. https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/OSRI/ Thread to share results I took it just for fun ?
  9. I have see the 2060 for about this much BUT it was one of the most basic models, like an EVGA single fan and it was either open box, or refurbished. Are you located in the USA?
  10. No problem! Would you be willing to let me know if you have any compatibility issues? I'm just curious if it works in your lenovo.
  11. Whatever you do, dont get the super if you already have a 2070. It'll be hard to get your moneys worth. I'd just stick with what you've got until your graphics card isn't giving you the performance you desire. That'd be the best way to get your moneys worth IMO.
  12. Agreed. I wouldn't buy one unless its at least 1/2 of the MSRP.
  13. Sites like ebay have buyer protection, so if you get hosed, you get your money back. Its usually low risk, even for things like mining cards. That said, there are the horror stories and there is of course a risk. Like you said... no warranty to help you if it craps out 6 months down the road. I have bought many used components and have yet to get anything defective or have it die on me down the road. Its a risk i am willing to take. To each their own!
  14. Its from 2017 and its a little on the noisier side, but this case has some of the best stock thermals you can get. Edit: The H500 mesh in your PCpartpicket list is also great! Not quite as good thermally as the RL06, but great nonetheless! https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811163379?item=9SIAD6F6MV1049&source=region&nm_mc=knc-googlemkp-pc&cm_mmc=knc-googlemkp-pc-_-pla-ventura+buy-_-cases+(computer+cases+-+atx+form)-_-9SIAD6F6MV1049&gclid=CjwKCAiAmNbwBRBOEiwAqcwwpQ26zcPMU2xpOULotVFmu4Mz2g-SpKS1Wcpq1ZE1c1FLoAoXB5ytbxoC1nEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  15. I would't worry about getting rid of the driver. The 1060 and 1080 use the same driver i think. I would install the new graphics card, and just download the latest drivers from nvidia. I wouldn't worry about uninstalling the old ones unless you run into any issues. As far as power connectors go, Yes, you need to plug in the extra 2 pins that are just hanging there. It should all work fine.
  16. 1070 used would be my pick. Used hardware is almost always a better value for your money assuming it is not defective.
  17. Good point and I agree. If the OP wants to manually tune, that would be far superior to MCE for thermal reasons and also just for the sake of conserving energy. If they want to set and forget though, I feel it is okay to leave MCE on.
  18. AMD B450 Tomahawk https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Crossfire-Motherboard-B450-Tomahawk/dp/B07F7W5KJS Intel Z390 UD https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Z390-UD-LGA1151-Motherboard/dp/B07HS59X7P
  19. @BLUwU Welcome! That monitor should be A-OK. The forum is great place to start when it comes to building a PC. I recommend creating a new topic in the new builds and planning subforum. Be sure to include your price range, country of residence, and a short summary of what you'd like to accomplish with your PC in the post! Additionally, Linus and other tech tubers have plenty of build guides and parts selection guides for all sorts of price ranges.
  20. I think it'll be totally fine. Especially without manual overclocking. I'd leave MCE on as it wont auto boost higher than your thermal headroom allows anyway. Edit: I'm not suggesting that your cpu will run out of thermal headroom either. I personally don't think you will, but if you do, youll be fine. I cant say for sure without testing. But you should give it a whirl, its totally safe to test out at least.
  21. Only other thing i can suggest is take it all apart and put it all back together carefully. Make sure everything is plugged in all the way. The cooler might not be seated properly either.
  22. Yes it is sufficient. 360 wouldnt hurt either. Fun fact, a 360 is hardly better than a 280 since the dimesnsions are really 280X140 = 39200mm VS 360x120 = 43200 square milimeters. Only 10% more surface area. Edit: I usually advocate for air cooling over water cooling. Cheaper with similar or better performance and better reliability.
  23. Unless its overheating, I wouldn't sweat it. Consider periodically using MSI afterburner or a similar monitor to keep an eye on temps. There are built in overtemp protections to prevent serious damage. One thing is for sure, Corsair and Asetek are good brands but they DONT last forever. Moving parts, friction, yada yada.
  24. All pretth meh or bad deals. If i had to pick one of those, I'd go RX 590 as long as you have a good enough power supply. If your current video card is the GTX 1060 in your signature, i would save my money. Its not a big enough upgrade to justify the cost if you value your money.
  25. If it were me, I would NOT get the AMD RX card as I have had very poor luck when it comes to compatibility with pre builts. I have tried RX 460 RX 470 and RX 570. I would either throw in a GTX 1050 or GTX 1650 and call it a day. If your stock power supply has a 6-pin (it probably doesn't considering the wattage) I'd grab this GTX 1650 for $130 https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-1057-RX If your stock power supply does not have a 6 pin, i'd grab this GTX 1650 for $135 https://www.ebay.com/itm/254445347409?ul_noapp=true If you are really limited on cash, a GTX 1050 is a bit cheaper. If you can find on on ebay for like $60, its a pretty good deal, I see them go for this price semi commonly. They're pretty easy to find in the $75 dollar range. https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-Geforce-GTX-1050-SC-2GB-/174120395484 If you still have budget leftover, an SSD is a nice upgrade if you dont already have one. I'd grab the largest size SSD that you can afford with your remaining budget. I wouldn't worry about the power supply personally. if you have DIMM slots leftover maybe grab some used DDR3 RAM. I usually can find 2 X 4GB for 10-15$ pretty easily. I wouldn't worry about upgrading the power supply unless your graphics card choice requires a power connector. Personally, i'd just try and find a low powered graphics card like one i recommended. Edit: A few afterthoughts: Like these other guys said, if you go the power supply upgrade route, be sure to check compatability! Lenovo systems commonly use proprietary connectors. You'll want to check to make sure it uses a 24-pin ATX connector and a 4-pin EPS connector. If you go the GT 1030 route, be sure to get a GDDR5 one and NOT DDR4 one! The performance between these two are WORLDS APART and the prices are pretty close.
