Oh my Lord, thank you guys, saved me from dropping good money on a new PSU, new cable brought her back to life. Def keeping an eye and nose open for any potential issues

unless that's what caused the fire in the first place

Replace the cable. Switch the pc back on. 
Most likely the cable shielding failed or something of the like. 
 
Suggestion, watch the new cable, IF the PSU is over-pulling (over-drawing) then yeah the PSU could be at fault and may need to be replaced.

This will hit the PSU first, your part will probably ok.
The cable might not be good to handle the current, you should replace it with a better one.
Most PSU have a build in fuse, so if anything happens outside the fuse will take the damage.
Replacing the fuse would bring the psu back.

Some sort of Batman game will be FREE at the Epic Games store NEXT THURSDAY, September 19th, 2019. Looks like they're doing a mystery game for the first time. Not even 100% sure it's a game, it could be a comic book for all I know. I sure hope they don't resort to doing books. That's what Humble does and it's so stupid. Imo, very little people actually care to download free books from a gaming website.

If I didn't already own it, dirt rally at 3.49 is a hell of a steal, especially if you own a VR headset.
