  1. Killing Floor. http://store.steampowered.com/app/1250/ But wait for a sale... you can get it for like $5 every couple months.
  2. I think most people don't play on Ultra anyway... just because all of the lens flares and coronas, blur, etc, really make it difficult to pick out targets. I usually go for ultra textures, texture filtering, and models. Everything else is either High or Medium. No AA.
  3. "Featured daily deal!" It's full retail price...
  4. No... That thread is about showing off your rigs/workstations. This thread is about showing off your wallpapers and desktop themes... Quite different.
  5. I must be the only person here who only encountered kids on Xbox Live very rarely. In fact, I've encountered a comparable number of kids on the PC version of Team Fortress 2 as I did on Live. It's really not as bad as most people make it out to be... also... y'all know there's a mute button, right? Anywho, I like this video. But the best is still the "How to Annoy People" series with Kevin.
  6. That's why I don't buy them, to be honest. That, and the premium price tag. I could handle that if they made them with some more appealing colors though. I understand maintaining a brand image but... come on, Noctua! Also, this is a nice rig. I know a lot of people think blue LEDs and stuff are tacky, but I like it. Did you have any trouble with the loop, OP?
  7. Personally, (and I'm not trying to change your mind...), but I would get a brighter, maybe UV color... so that the tubes look like they're glowing from within... But that's just me.
  8. They're all around $200 on Newegg. And by the time I bought from somewhere else and paid $10 for shipping, it would have come out the same anyway.
  9. Palm. Held my mouse that way forever. Everything else is just unnatural.
  10. Technically? Yes? It's my first PC that I've purchased all of the parts separately and built myself. Though I have swapped parts with older PCs before... creating the odd "Frankenputer" from old parts. Maybe. But the 270 has to be overclocked to match the speed of the 270x... and then the difference between the two is around 1fps in games. At least, that's what I got out of Linus' video about the 270.
  11. Or buy them. They're relatively inexpensive. Most people who configure fans for positive pressure do so to limit the dust intake. If you configure for positive pressure and then leave your fans open... you're defeating the purpose. They'll suck in more dust than they block with the air vented through other parts of the case.
  12. Just out of curiosity... why do you want positive air pressure? If it's to keep dust from entering through every vent, crack, and crevice on the case, do you have a filter strategy for your intake fans?
  13. Since when does standing outside in your boxers make you a hobo?
  14. EDIT: Nevermind. I'm completely wrong. lol Just read this... http://www.tested.com/tech/457440-theoretical-vs-actual-bandwidth-pci-express-and-thunderbolt/
  15. Why just about everything in a PC is standardized EXCEPT for the front-panel I/O connections on the case? Specifically I'm talking about these... Why haven't these been standardized like just about every other header on a motherboard? You'd think it would be compressed into a single plug by now. If all of the motherboards used the same layout for where the power switch, HDD led, etc were used, could case manufacturers not just include one connector with all of the connections in their proper places? Key it so it can only be connected in the proper fashion and be done with it? Sure, we have those little plugs that allow you to connected all of the separate connectors to it and then plug them all into the motherboard at once. But doesn't that seem a little redundant when you could just standardize it and the case manufacturers could include whatever connections are required into a single universal plug?
  16. That's not what I meant. I like the way Skyrim looks. High res textures, some better models, some mods to squeeze a little more detail in here and there... I like that. Skyrim is not a bad looking game. It's also not realistic. In fact, no games is realistic. That's why Bethesda made Skyrim look the way it does... it has an art direction beyond just "we want better graphics!". What I'm talking about is mostly the ENB series of mods that so many people drool over. Like in this video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCU862nVpJ0 That looks absolutely horrible, in my opinion. The lighting is okay, but everything is blurry and hazy. The depth of field added so that the entire background is blurred when you look at a tree that's 20 feet away is just ridiculous. And the people have the nerve to call this "realvision"... no. It's not realistic at all. Eyes don't work that way. And if your's do... you need to see an Optometrist. That last part wasn't specifically aimed at you. Or anyone else, really. I'm just tired of every single "amazing" mod I see including ridiculous depth of field and motion blur and bullshit.
  17. I must be the only one that absolutely despises what most people call "amazing" Skyrim graphics. Updating the textures and models, etc, is one thing... but there are a lot of really terrible effects added with most of the popular ENB type mods, imo. Like that horrid depth of field that every modder and their uncle seems to put on EVERYTHING. No sir, I don't like it! Is Ryse not an Xbox One exclusive? Also, I think Forza 5 looks a lot better than Ryse...
  18. I once had one that hijacked my browser. I can't remember what it would always redirect to. I popped open task manager and found a suspicious process. Trying to kill it resulted in a "this application is currently in use blah blah" message. Rebooted in safe mode and just to make sure, I re-activated that process from the .exe I tracked down in my windows folder. Sure enough, as soon as I did, the same pop-ups and re-directs were displayed. Pretty easy to remove once in safe mode. In fact, that's the only virus I can remember getting. Ever.
  19. Nah, man... Half Life isn't available on PC... http://store.steampowered.com/app/70/?snr=1_7_15__13
