yes (no special requirements), just unscrew the m.2 drive, put the m.2 drive in, put the screw in, and you are done as it is now a drive that you can use : )

Poly LLC reacted to Krosis in new build seemingly randomly shuts off
Can you go to the bios and check the CPU temp?
-
Poly LLC reacted to Zando_ in First time M.2 User....
^^^ Be aware if you can't see it in the BIOS or OS off the old drive, some mobos just disable the M.2 ports by default so no need to freak out. Should be simple to just enable it in the BIOS.

Poly LLC reacted to W-L in Fluid changed before even getting in loop
I'd remove the fluid and flush the loop sounds like the bottle of fluid may have gotten contaminates in it and had growth occur since it was not a new bottle and recapped from before.

Poly LLC reacted to Fasauceome in Asus Crosshair Vi Hero Extreme cannot detect M.2 sata
It's possible that the motherboard is rejecting the windows install because of potential driver conflicts.

if it works, it works, its only the asethetics if you want to make it look cleaner by plugging them all closer together. If you plugged them in and everything is working, it's fine. Unless it's on the inside. That's a different story

Poly LLC reacted to Palden in PC randomly turns off?
If it does, you might want to check and see if there's a BIOS update for your mobo, Ryzen is still a new architecture and you might be behind on some updates that could fix it

Poly LLC got a reaction from Palden in Looking to upgrade my processor.
go with the i7, don't buy another motherboard, it'll save money and intel has better single threaded preformance, which is good in games.

looks good, and won't have memory bandwidth problem because of that dual channel memory :). Getting a hard drive down the road might be a nessesity as 120gb won't be enough to store more than 2 AAA games, unless of course you aren't using this for games, but it will be filled up easily from daily usage in most cases. You can easily get a 1tb hdd for about 50$
