    I have had problems like this with older hardware, I suggest using windows 7 to be honest. Ive had a better time and less problems with it.

    I use one alot since my school has gotten one and unless you are gonna be putting a lot of time into it then it is not worth it

    The processors these days are very efficient and the new phones have great battery life

    Is it blue screening or just shutting off? If it is just shutting off then it could be a faulty power supply, but if its blue screening i think it might be the windows install. If it is the windows then i suggest re installing it.

    The hyper 212 evo is a good way to go for budget coolers. Only pain is installing it.

    I really recommend the phanteks eclipse p400s. It is around $100 CAD and comes with tempered glass and a rgb strip along with the synced rgb power bytton and lighting at the bottom.
