So, the modem i currently have is usually positioned upstairs, near my kitchen, though i want to move it downstairs since i am the only real user of the internet in my house. I want to move it to my room, in which i have one outlet internet thing, problem is, it doesn't have the same connectors. The one upstairs has a Ethernet port, and one of those old phone line connectors, while the one downstairs has only a phone line connector. I have a cable that goes from the old phone connector line to DSL, of which i need in order to plug in the modem downstairs, while upstairs, i use an Ethernet to DSL cable that was set up by my ISP. When i try to use my cable to plug in the modem downstairs, the power LED goes on, the 'Internet' LED stays off, and the DSL light flashes, which usually idicates it it trying to find a connection i think. Any ideas on what i could do?
