Linux Mint or Ubuntu are fine and basic for that

I've ran Ubuntu from a USB drive with no problem. I even think most OSs can do that, even Windows. 
You could run Linux Mint, as it's even less demanding than Ubuntu iirc

I know this isn't your question, but 7700K + 1050ti? Also I'd say for a psu maybe about 500 watts. I know it's overkill, but it'll give you room to upgrade the GPU in the future (something you'll want  to do).

GPUs and RAM are way too overpriced atm, so stay with Devils Canyon for now, it still has lots of life left

I sure wanted to listen to the advice, but if I wanted to save up for the PSU that you guys suggested to buy new, I'd have had to wait for another two weeks and in that time I really needed to use the PC (School, etc.)

My overclocked 1700X and overclocked GTX 970 draw about 330W under load. 450W is plenty.

What is your system? Specs?

So are you saying 8600k with 1080? With the money i save in the CPU i could do that. Makes so many difference to the 1070ti?

Depends on what you're doing with the PC. 
Bottlenecking is a stupid term. Simply means all the parts aren't utilised 100%. 

Ryzen for what you have proposed here, but I'd wait for the 8th gen intel budget boards and get an i5 8400

They're the same thing. 
 
FCLGA is the full abbreviation (can you have a full abbreviation?) of LGA. It stands for Flip-Chip Land Grid Array. LGA is the exact same thing, it just doesn't specify Flip-Chip.

see if the i5 8400+z370 board combos are similarly priced. the 1600 can be paired with a cheaper B350 to even out the costs.

The best way is to unplug the HDDs, install windows on the SSD and get it up and working. Then shutdown the system, plug in the two HDDs and force the system to boot from the SSD. Copy all files that aren't windows files off the one HDD with Windows on it to the other drive or the SSD. Format the HDD that had windows on it and then move things back as needed.

You obviously just need to go liquid nitrogen cooling?? 7700ks run pretty hot so that isn’t bad. It never hurts to check your thermal paste application but I wouldn’t worry about it.

I ran the beta just fine with my i5 6500. Also, the BF1 requirements also need a 6600k

FX 6350 is as fast as 6600k apparently
