  1. Yo wassup lads, (that was the most cringiest intro to a topic on this site ever) So I am transforming my old laptop (Asus K75V; 3rd gen I7 mobile; gt 630 2gb; 6 gb ram and a Kingston uv 400 ssd -with windows 10-) into a desktop! My questions are: - the power from the power cord goes directly into the mobo so do I need the battery to be hooked up as well if I want to boot this system? - Do I need to have the keyboard and trackpad plugged into the mobo for it to boot? Already thanks in advance! Btw this is just a fun project to spend my time with so if you're gonna say "Hey stupid, that isn't gonna work." you might as well immediately fuck off because I'm going to be trying it anyway. No offence.
  2. So my grandpa passed away and I got the lovely task of securing all important files of his computer, laptops, external HDD and Nas. So I've managed to get all files that could be of importance to one place on my personal PC drive, but the way the drives (from my grandpa) were organised I assume that a lot of files will be the same, and because we're talking about multiple terrabytes of storage space used, it is impossible for me to personally go and compare everything. So I was wondering if there would be any program the could do it for me... If you want specs, I can give you those, but I'm too lazy to write them down if it might not be needed. Already thanks in advance
  3. So I've built a new PC and I've installed windows 10 pro on it. The drive in question is a WD blue 2 TB drive, it is recognized by windows (it shows up in task manager), but has the name drive 0 and I'm unable to put my files on it or even acces the drive. The rest of the PC specs are: I7 8700 Asus ROG strix B360-F Bequiet dark rock 4x4 corsair vegeances DDR4 ram (2133 mHz) Asus ROG strix gtx 1080 8gb Samsung 960 evo 500 gb (boot drive for windows 10 pro) Evga B3 650 watt Can someone tell me how to get this drive to work in windows?
  4. First of all: It can wait Second of all: I don't see the problem. I haven't been hacked nor have my devices exploded -yet-. Third of all: The problems are found in hardware and so in every CPU generation until now pretty much. Fixes will probably be first applied to the 9th gen of intel CPUs. Fourth of all: Be quiet sucks over all and so does the Pure Power 10.
  5. I know this isn't your question, but 7700K + 1050ti? Also I'd say for a psu maybe about 500 watts. I know it's overkill, but it'll give you room to upgrade the GPU in the future (something you'll want to do).
  6. So hey guys -this isn't Austin-, I'm going to be building a gaming PC for my cousin and I need to choose the power supply, something that I've always found tricky. The specs of this build will be as the following: I7 8700 (non K, yes I know) Asus H370 ROG strix mobo 16 gb of corsair vengeance ram Asus GTX 1080 variant (probs the ROG one, because aura sync RGB) 256 gb samsung 960 pro Some 2TB hardrive (probs from seagate) Some ATX case I'm thinking of maybe buying a corsair TX550. My budget would be around 75 to 80 euros. So could you guys give me some tips or suggestions? Already thanks in advance.
  7. Maybe it was a bad buy, but in comparison to other secondhand and new PSU's I thought it was a good deal. It powers my system just fine and btw this system will probably only be used for about 1 hour a day and I am planning on selling this system so I can buy a new PC with new components only. And also, I'm not the type of person who knows everything about PSU's, I only knew this would do the job for me at a price I could afford it.
  8. Just wait a few months for the new GPU line-ups to appear and the cost/performance ratio should be way better than we now have. So don' t use the APU, or the 1500x rx 560 combo. If you need te PC right now I'd sugget to go with the 1500x and rx 560 como.
  9. I sure wanted to listen to the advice, but if I wanted to save up for the PSU that you guys suggested to buy new, I'd have had to wait for another two weeks and in that time I really needed to use the PC (School, etc.)
  10. I got a cooler master 500B (v1) secondhand for 25.-.
  11. According to this list http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html An EGHA 450B should be better and in my case also cheaper... Is that true?
  12. Getting the non-modular one doesn't matter right? I know, it's a stupid question.
  13. Hi, I'm putting together a PC with the following parts: - i7 2600 - 8 gb ddr3 - Nvidia geforce gtx 970 - some OEM mobo from Medion - 64 gb ssd - 1.5 TB hdd I just need to determine which PSU I'll use. I'm currently thinking about buying a Be Quiet! System Power 8 - 500W. My budget max is 55 euros. Do you guys agree on this choice or not, and if you don' t, please suggest a different psu. Thanks in advance.
  14. You could A: only plug in only an Aux cable in your PC and this mediabox, It would work fine, but it wouldn't have (as far as I know) surround B: you get a deck amplifier or soundcard to put all of the thingys in. Btw I'm completely sure.
  15. The ASUS that is on sale (used) on Ebay.
  16. the 8600K won't bottleneck the 1070ti. Btw the 8600K is better then the 7700K in multicore and singlecore performance. Btw don't buy a 1070ti, just go for a gtx 1080 (non ti)
  17. Ryzen for what you have proposed here, but I'd wait for the 8th gen intel budget boards and get an i5 8400
  18. Well because the old gpu (a gt 730) is still receiving power from the mobo I guess that can't be.
  19. No it doesn't and putting in the old gpu didn't work either.
