  1. Every product I can find that goes from DP1.4 -> HDMI 2.1 loses VRR support
  2. Wouldn’t I lose VRR support through doing that?
  3. Then my other TV would not be connected to my computer. I would have to tip my Corsair 2000D over every time I wanted to swap the display.
  4. Hello, I currently am trying to get HDR to work through the HDMI port on my motherboard. When I try to enable it the screen becomes washed out, but does not display HDR. Here is my setup: - AMD 7700x, MSI B650i motherboard, Nvidia 4080. - Display: one LG C2 in a separate room connected through an optical HDMI cable to the 4080. Samsung S95C connected through the motherboard. Games that I play through the motherboard HDMI output utilize the 4080 through Windows 11 game settings. However, I don't think this would be the issue since even the desktop does not properly show HDR when it is toggled through windows.
  5. You only have to double-tap twice instead of once. I don't see this as that big of a deal. How are they supposed to pay for everything if they don't advertise?
  6. You're so right, I really don't appreciate LTT having 10 second sponsor spots at the beginning that are designed to be easily skippable with a double tap or the two second mention of lttstore.com. I much prefer GN talking for 5 minutes about how amazing his new mod mat or disappointment shirt are. /s
  7. That is what I was thinking, or if it couldn't be the first video they have up once they're back it could be the first one they have up addressing the changes. Obviously no one wants the testing to be rushed. If they do review the water block again, I think that is the only way they can do it without it completely blowing up in their face.
  8. Honestly, I think they should do this at this point. I think they would need to start with a sincere apology to Billet, retest it, and then they would likely still come to the same conclusion that Linus doesn't personally recommend it. I think from that point they could note that that is the approach they should have taken from the start and they could go more in-depth into the changes they are making going forward.
  9. They don't have Nexus in the EU since they operate out of Canada without a branch/warehouses in the EU. I'm not 100% sure about European tax laws as I'm in the US, but at least for us, this would allow them to avoid many US taxes.
  10. In light of everything I think the WAN show should take a hiatus until the internal investigation is finished and emotions have cooled off. Linus is clearly an emotional person and I don’t fault him for that. However, at this time I think a WAN show would pour fuel onto the fire. The best thing I think they could do, would be to have the next WAN show be a community Q&A where all the management team is able to address the community concerns, provide an update on the new processes, and address the sexual harassment allegations.
  11. I tried plugging it directly in and it resolved the display issues but the posting speed was still pretty slow. Unfortunately updating the drivers doesn’t fix the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth issues. I looked online and you can’t buy a replacement for the nvme module since it’s an AMD Wi-Fi 6e module so I think I’ll need to go through gigabyte. Thanks for the help!
  12. I can borrow my brother’s and give it a shot. Do you think it’s more likely the GPU over the motherboard?
  13. After moving PC cases my computer now makes weird noises over the speakers, takes forever to post/has issues showing post screen graphics, and doesn’t work properly in windows (Wi-Fi doesn’t work anymore). I know my RAM (tested with two kits), CPU (5800x 3d), and PSU are good but am unsure of the graphics card (7900 xtx ~4 days of use), motherboard (Aorus x570-si), new PCIE 4.0 riser cable in the fractal ridge, or my boot drive. I believe my motherboard might be bad, because my Bluetooth stopped work about two weeks ago for a couple days but resolved itself. Also, the booting issues are pre-OS so I don’t think it would be my SSD. Please let me know if you agree or have any ideas.
  14. I’ve been using the cable I sent you for a couple months now to transmit full RGB 4k 120hz without issue, so you should be set easily with 1440p. Keep in mind that the cable is directional (one side source, one side display), it needs to be plugged in with the 5v usb dongle, and make sure you plug it directly from the GPU to the display. I tried plugging it into an hdmi switch, then to the display, and it didn’t like that. Also, all the usb ports are 2.0, which is perfect for headsets, mice, and keyboards but won’t be great for file transfers.
  15. You can get a similar setup for much cheaper through USB over Ethernet and a fiber optic HDMI cable. You just need to make sure the USB over Ethernet hubs are plugged directly into each other with an ethernet cable. This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B092ZQ356K?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/Extender-165ft-4-Port-Ethernet-Cat5e/dp/B07VN3FBW3?pd_rd_w=x0awb&content-id=amzn1.sym.0ef772df-4d2e-4e69-babd-790844639d27&pf_rd_p=0ef772df-4d2e-4e69-babd-790844639d27&pf_rd_r=29ADM66S9XQ0VAFNH25Q&pd_rd_wg=FHZew&pd_rd_r=e1fdd826-c9db-4f79-9c58-ec238ddd0f59&pd_rd_i=B07VN3FBW3&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_m_grid_dv_rp_0_1_ec_ped_ld_t
  16. Meanwhile in-n-out is still cheaper, has more employees per store, and manages to pay them all well with benefits.
  17. I would want a messenger bag that could fit my 14 MBP or 13” work laptop and a mouse. If a space could be made for a ten-key less keyboard that would be awesome, but not a must.
  18. It’s SONY that is doing the worst even with their WOLED TVs.
  19. If you have a spare drive try installing windows on it and see if the issue persists. You could just have a corrupted driver that needs to be replaced. For the overheating, you might want to consider repasting the GPU since it’s probably dried out at this point.
  20. Power equalized graphs aren’t useful this gen since both Nvidia and AMD (apparently based off the LLT review) have issues when reducing power. So if you reduce the 7900 XTX to the 4080 power you’d be running the 7900 xtx out of spec which isn’t a fair comparison. Likewise, if you boosted the 4080 to the 7900 xtx you’d be running the 4080 out of spec and wouldn’t be a fair comparison. So, again what is the point of power normalized comparisons? If you care about 50w less then you should pay the extra $200 and get the 4080.
  21. Why would we care about power equalized benchmarks? It is like a 20-50w difference full load. The card clearly has some first gen kinks to work out, but it plays games really well and the rest can be fixed with future drivers.
  22. If you’re going with amd 7000 series then you’re presumably intending to have upgrade options in the future. I would recommend going with the x670e then to make sure your mobo supports as many features as possible now that way you don’t need to replace it in 2-3 years. I would personally suggest grabbing a 5800x 3D with a discounted mobo and DDR4. I think by the time it’s worth upgrading from a 5800x 3d/7900x the price of AM5 mobos and DDR5 will have come down a lot.
  23. Yea, we all live on top of each other. It was the built in COX router so not the best, but it was Wi-Fi 6 (they’re also about as good as a $100 standalone router anyways). I use an ORBI AX4200 now and have full speed throughout my entire place. It is also 2 walls between the living room and bedroom.
  24. At least in California where I live 800-1200 sqft is a condo/apartment. They have the thickest walls imaginable and have a ton of wireless interference. My original router couldn’t even get signal from one end of the living room to the bedroom. You also can’t drill holes in the all to run a cable nicely. Plus, by the router that will be good 5 years from now, not the one that barely gets by today. All of the space ship looking routers get destroyed by Orbi with Wi-Fi 6 in reviews.
