  1. Not related but I paid £10 less than the 8700 for the 8700k (£349.99 compared to £359.99 on OcUK)
  2. Well when I post it the Royal mail insure it so even if it does get damaged the buyer can still claim money back on it
  3. I mean I have an old shoe box and I am wrapping it in a bag and surrounding it in Bubble Wrap. Could I just use the show box lol
  4. I would recommend the A version at least. I've just gone for the maximus hero. a good choice if you can afford it.
  5. Yeah I don't have original boxes etc as they are from a prebuilt I have kept upgrading so bubble wrap is fine i hope
  6. Tomorrow I will be packing my CPU/MOBO/RAM to be sold. I have an A3 sized bag and some bubblewrap. It is ok to wrap it in bubble wrap isn't it?
  7. I am looking to get a ASUS Z370 maximus hero but saw there are capacitors to the left of the socket. Will these interfere with my H115I? Also I am sending off my mobo/ram/cpu/cooler as it is being sold. what is the best way to package it? Bubblewrap? Thanks
  8. You could always get a fan controller and plug it into a fan header on the motherboard
  9. How come you can't use the internal USB 2.0 header?
  10. Hey, I am finally able to upgrade my rig's cpu+mobo (already have the ddr4 ram needed and a 1070 etc). I am currently using a 4690k but want to upgrade as the games I play seem to use more than 4 cores/threads. Should I get the 8600k or the 8700k? Also is the Z370 maximus a good motherboard choice (non wifi edition). I'm mainly gaming and doing a small bit of live streaming. I preferably want to stay away from Ryzen. Thanks
  11. If you get a high end adapter you could get 1 gigbit. Although your wiring affects this greatly
  12. Hi. I'm looking for a squad to play tournaments/ranked with. Only looking for an EU squad. Thanks
  13. Browsing the interwebs and found this tidbit! If this is true holy moly but it look's to good to be true. https://www.tweaktown.com/news/60100/amds-new-ryzen-7-2800x-teased-12c-24t-up-5-1ghz/index.html What do you guys think?
  14. Well every part you buy will have warranty with the manufacturer. So it isn't worth it really.
  15. I would spend the extra and build it yourself. A weaker PSU is terrible as it could have bad capacitors etc
  16. eah that would work just make sure you plugged it into the back of the mobo in a USB 2.0 slot
  17. You create a bootable USB with the media creation tool and then install windows from there.
  18. That would be a bad choice. It has shown Coffe Lake likes high ram speed along with Ryzen.
  19. You could consider getting the i5-8400. It is a cheaper 6 core CPU but loses the ability to overclock. Or you could change to AMD's new offering (Ryzen) with the 1600 being similarly priced (or lower) which has 6 cores and 6 extra threads. You could buy a Windows key off of eBay for a few dollars/euros instead of paying over $100. I don't believe there is much difference between the R5 standard and the R5 black out so maybe consider the base version. Hope this helps
  20. I would go with the ASUS board. Good warranty and ASUS have a much better BIOS. The hero boards are some of the best out there. it also has a wider range of RGB compatibility :3
  21. Hey, I am looking to upgrade my PC at the end of the year, I already have 3200mhz cl14 DDR4 RAM, but I really don't know what CPU to get. I am thinking the i5-8600k as I am mainly going to be gaming and it sounds like it beats most of ryzen for gaming, but if I do plan to do a very light amount of streaming would ryzen be worth it? I'd prefer intel but im not sure
  22. Well it is something to do with my CPU. Like I asked earlier just wondering if anyone had a fix for it.
