So my question is , is this a good pc for a "future proofing " where all hes to do is maybe up the Ram from 64 to 128 or change the cpu to the Ryzen 3 when it comes out in 2 -3 months ( and yeah ive told him to wait ) and nope the 5 year old wants it yesterday So any help would be appreciated in "what parts i could use/ or are better than what ive chosen " post up parts instead of subjective ideas that could be left to your own imagination because it doesnt help...Real HELP is valued Amd - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WWxZp8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ cpu AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT Processor $845 OR AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT Processor $665 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- heatsink Noctua NH-D15 Chromax CPU Cooler $189 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ motherboard Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master Motherboard $689 OR Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master Motherboard $449 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- gpu Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super Windforce OC 8GB $999 OR Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Super Gaming OC 3X 8GB Rev 2.0 $779 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- psu Corsair RM1000x Modular 80 Plus Gold ATX Power Supply $275.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ case Fractal Design Define 7 XL Black $329 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hard Drive - (c:/ Drive/)Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD 2TB $649 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ram - Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (2x32GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 $559 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What do you guys think Thanks again
  2. Sorry guys im in Australia ...the cousin just wants the pc now he doesnt want to wait He will be donating his old pc to his wife ( as a work station/ vr setup ) I have asked him to wait for zen 3 etcc but no go he wants to start the build on Monday ....and today is friday what part of the 2 links dont make sense instead of saying " To be perfectly honest, part selection for both lists makes little to no sense" How about being helpful and letting me know what you dont like about the pcpartpicker Build The psu is something i never cheap out on i ALLWAYS go overkill .... Trust me your better of for the extra few $$ "These seem like rendering workstations or something" yes he does do allot of Adobe premier work stuff and other programs (marketing ) etcc live streaming so yeah he wants a great pc i will be getting the parts from ( sorry if link is not allowed ) https://www.pccasegear.com/ Thanks again
  3. Budget (including currency): Country: Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So Here is my dilemma Im building A Amd Build for my cousin (intel fan boi cough cough ) but i have convinced him into going Amd ,am i correct in this , he will be doing allot of work on it mainly NOT necessarily gaming (maybe a little Vr now and then with the Htc Vive pro that he has ( pavlov ....so sad lol ) ( he does allot of work with adobe and video encoding etcc and allot of live broadcasting etcc . the Build i was going for is this with the covid prices going up and up i cant put a firm price on anything but i am using Pccasegear as maybe the place i will be getting the parts from His old pc was a intel i7 6700 , z170 msi gamer, 32 gig and 512 gig m.2 , msi1070 8 gig ... now i do know the new pc will be faster thats a given but are the parts i have chosen good or just ehhh Amd https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WWxZp8 For a Amd Build or should i have him go for this Intel https://pcpartpicker.com/list/k89PZf Any help would be appreciated Thanks
