  1. There's no need to get nationalistic and upset buddy. Gallup did a survey two years ago. It wasn't 10000+ it was 1000+ random adult Americans from all 50 states (though considering the methodology, I don't think they would have gotten significantly different results with 100,000 random adult Americans) 30% of surveyed people believed that he Earth is less than 10000 years old. No offence really, but if that's true, I don't have a hard time at all seeing 25% of Americans think the Sun orbits us.
  2. 10 days I got game crashes on Locker after the end of the round, the problem did stop for me after the last patch.
  3. No, your point is not my point at all. Even if you are tech savvy, sometimes a program (not nessarly Windows itself) just McFucksUp after you change something and you might have no idea what the hell just happened (And let's face it, no matter how a person is knowledgeable, there's always these moments when you go "what the hell did I just do?") and so System Restore comes to the rescue in these cases. And for the help it provides, sacrificing few gigabytes of storage is nothing. I remember countless times that something went wrong with my computer (or I just decided to do some risky experimenting) and System Restore helped me solve easily it with just a couple of clicks, minus all the headache of doing it manually. The only time it failed me is the situation I explained already about creating a new user account, since the problem most likely occurred perhaps months before my oldest restore and the issue simply didn't come to my attention until I tired creating another account.
  4. Games maybe. I can easily see the logic in that, but not movies in theaters. The game you're gonna play it at home either way, so if you can get it for cheap, why not?! The movies on the other hand, if you and your friends are just lazy, or busy, or just plain don't wanna go all the way to the theater to see a movie, then why bother?! Stay home and pirate.
  5. What do you mean "removed"? There shouldn't be an option called "remove" This is how the Window should look like: As you can see, I got system protection in my computer enabled for the C and V drive. Also you can see on top how I got the C drive selected, when I click on CONFIGURE, this window shows up: In this last Window, you got 3 options. The first one is if you want system restore to save your program files and settings that you have made to Windows, the second is to restore to only program files, and the third is to disable system restore for that drive completely. If you are willing to risk it, the third option is what you should have chosen, then Apply and OK. For me as you can see, I chose the first and gave system protection a max of 4.77GB, of which it's using 3.74GB right now.
  6. I do full system backups to my entire PC every 2 - 3 months. However, program errors happen all the time and sometimes you just have no idea what went wrong and how to get things back as they were before you installed this or changed that. Windows repair is a viable option for Windows only errors. It's not going to be of any help if you got some problems with other programs; moreover, it often forces you to reinstall some or many of your drivers. Even Microsoft recommends that you try System Restore and then Windows Repair... and if all fails, reinstall the entire OS. That is not to say that Windows Repair doesn't have it's uses. 3 months ago I needed to create another another user account on my computer. Windows failed to do so for some reason, it did not create a user folder or make new registry data for the new user. Going back to the oldest restore point (3 weeks from before) didn't fix the problem, so I undid the restore and did a Windows Repair. I did have to reinstall a whole bunch of drivers, but it fix my problem.
  7. Again, ask yourself, what benefits are guys like HBO going to get if they make their content less exclusive? Are they going to make more money? No, and so long as the answer is no things won't change. As I said earlier, if they get less exclusive, piracy rates will probably drop, but their profits will drop even more. So unless you manage to make your government make it illegal for a channel to charge exceptionally high charges for their broadcast, or if you convince a large portion of said channel to boycott (both tasks are harder than the other) nothing will change. Thing will stay exclusive and you gotta pay extra special subscription for it.
  8. So the number of bought iOS devices was higher in the last quarter of 2013 than before... at the time when Android really got popular? Something is fishy here.
  9. Yeah it's subscription based. However, a lot of people say that if the game doesn't become free to play within a year of release then it would probably just die, which I think is true. So it might turn into free to play eventually.
  10. First thing first, did you follow this video? And make sure it's this video, not his older outdated video. If you haven't watched this video, please do. It's very helpful and if you go through it you will probably find that you might have missed something. That being said, there's a good chance you did not plug in your correct and personal settings for the .ini file. So go through the video to guide you.
  11. In terms of fraud and security, I believe Bitcoin is safer to use than credit cards. However, my only and huge problem with Bitcoin and all other crypto currencies is their wild fluctuations compared to standard currencies. It might be stable in the future, but I can't trust it for now. That itself presents a cycle that's hard to break: A currency will not be relatively stable unless a big mass of population trusts it as a serious currency; a big mass of population will not use something as a serious currency unless it's relatively stable.
  12. You do NOT want to remove (disable) system restore. You might want to minimize it, but never disable. Sometimes something might go wrong in your system and your 2 only option to solve it is to restore the PC to an earlier point, or do a complete format which is a pain in the ass if you ask me. To change the settings of system restore (assuming you are on Win 7; it's almost the same way in Win 8, the bottom of this page should help you locate in on Win 8 or 8.1 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc ) simply search "create a restore point" in the start menu and click on the option that shows up. You will get a window titled "System Properties" and you will be on the tab "System Protection" In that tab, under "Protection Settings" select the drive you want to change its setting and click "Configure" Another window will popup that has a slider that says "Current Usage" this slider determines how much of your computer is used for restore point. I recommend that you have a minimum of 4GB dedicated for system restore on the primary drive, and probably no more than 10GB. So do your changes and then apply and okay. On my own PC, I got system restore enabled for my C drive (512GB) and my V drive (1800GB) I also have another drive but I left system protection disabled on that drive, since I only install programs on C and V. On C I have set it to 4.77GB (1%) on V I have set it to 18.6GB (1%) Why this much for V? Because 1% is the absolute minimum you can set it to. I would set it lower for V, but I can't; however 18GB out of over 1800GB is practically nothing for me.
  13. Even if the legal option was more convenient, piracy of said legal option would still exist on quite a large scale. As I have already explained that shows like How I Met Your Mother for example are still heavily pirated, despite the fact that new episodes air on normal cable packages within a week of their premier, if not within the same day (this is at least the case where I live: Canada The Death Star) As for shows that air on exclusive packages like Game of Thrones, the question you should ask yourself is, what benefit would come to HBO if they weren't so exclusive? Would their shows be less pirated? Somewhat, but they would still be pirated as much as the shows on the normal packages, which is quite a bit. Would they make more money? HEEEEELL NO! Piracy of their shows might drop a bit if they were in a normal package, but their profit will take a big punch as well, even if you factor in that they might make more advertising money (because they would now have a bigger audience) The fact of the matter that as big as the pirating community is, the community that wants to watch these shows and are too ethical to pirate and/or are technologically inept that they don't know how, is even bigger. As such, these people will pay for these exclusive packages, and so guys like HBO make use of this knowledge and charge so much money for their channels.
  14. In light of today's WAN show, I think I speak for everyone when I say that we want... NO, we DEMAND that Linus wears the Stormtrooper armor the next time he shoots a video for Tech Tips.
  15. Rocketfish cables themselves are actually pretty good. I got one 2 years ago from FutureShop http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/rocketfish-rocketfish-3-7m-12-ft-hdmi-cable-rf-g1169-rf-g1169/10170584.aspx?path=809fa1c70cf94a80a0496e2445825350en02 and I use it to this day when I need to hock up my laptop to my TV. The cable itself is great as I said, but the price is of course bullshit. Same goes with pretty any sort of cable you buy from any sort of retailer. Now up there it's listed for $60; it was $75 back then, but a friend of mine works there and got me the cable for $15 because employees over there got the products at a price near it's actual value... 15 goddamn dollars Now that's a testament to how much retailers rip people off on the sort of things. Later on I found out about http://www.monoprice.com/ and that's where I get my cables nowadays, but the RocketFish cable is still working great.
