SeventyPointThree reacted to Dedayog in Installed new cpu now black screen
Let us know how it goes with the CMOS battery.
Not much we can do on our end, except link the 5800x BIOS...
PRIME X470-PRO CPU Support | Motherboards | ASUS USA
Why you didn't update the BIOS prior to putting the 5800x in I have no idea.
Edit: Hmm, link defaults to the main page, so scroll down to the 5800x BIOS link.

The best option would be to just run a cable from your tower to your tv. (display port if available, hdmi if not)
This would surely use the tv resolution as the default when you are using the tv and if not you could easily change it in display properties by right clicking the desktop.

Certainly sounds like something has taken control of the networking on the PC. And as for the non-genuine thing, I wonder if it is an actual message or a fake one from another rogue... I would seriously backup any important data and reinstall the OS fresh. Seriously.

Chances are that your graphics card went into safe mode after a failed overclock. Restart your pc, and it should solve the problem.

Surely an EVGA 750 Gold PSU MUST have come with multiple PCIe power cables, right?

SeventyPointThree reacted to Tedster in Wireless or Ethernet
Yes, going for Ethernet should help the problem because it gives a far more consistent connection speed and better pings.

SeventyPointThree reacted to YoshiDomin8or in Is Nvidia 3D Vision still worth getting in 2015?
Hey all,
I've had an interest in 3D for quite a while but have never gotten around to it.
I've always considered using Nvidia 3D Vision but with VR around the corner such as Oculus Rift and HTC/ Valve Vive, i've been wondering if I should wait until the release of these to try them.
Now I know that they are completely different in a huge way but if anyone has had experience with 3D Vision feel free to share or link to another thread if there is one.
Really the main question is, is 3D Vision still worth getting?
Thanks peeps!

SeventyPointThree reacted to LordErrorprone in New Platform Launch Feedback & FAQ
First I wanted say that I have no problems with you guys enabling people to pay for early access to your videos. But as of now I see no reason to use vessel over YouTube. It looks to me like the "hd" videos on vessel are in 720p, that's a massive downgrade from the 4k and 1080p60 videos we have been getting on YouTube for awhile now. The interface of vessel could also use a lot of work, finding videos that I want to watch is much harder than on YouTube despite the fact that YouTube's interface isn't that good either. So I will not be using vessel over YouTube despite the free year and early access to videos until 4k is supported.

I love the 10 second jump back feature. I'm not a huge fan of their UI though. It's just a bit clustered I think. Maybe I have to get used to it.

Cool, I'm going to give that one a shot. I tried to boot the pc and It yelled at me about the GPU not having enough power

I suggest a cheap i3, more threads (and cores) = better for streaming.

No. I liked first DA but I dont care about this at all. It doesent apeal to me one bit. I am waiting only for Witcher III now.
And I never preorder also. I dont think it has any benefits.. in fact I see only negatives if the game suck.

SeventyPointThree reacted to DigitalHermit in What is point and purpose of upgrading or buying highend Motherboard
Overclocking, expandability, more RAM channels, more stable power delivery, possibility of SLI/Crossfire.... M.2 slots, eSATA even...
It also looks cooler than a low-end motherboard, but that's just a bonus...

SeventyPointThree reacted to Sirpotatos in Choosing a Phone
No, not a phone that old! Moto G is new, but affordable. For light use, the second generation Moto G is impossible to beat like Aniallation mentioned already. Also, it's mostly stock android so easier to use than an OEM skinned version.
