  1. Hi, I'm new to the forum and would like some advice on what antivirus/protection software to buy for my PC (Windows 7). I know it's more of a matter of opinion these days cause they are somewhat similar but still I want to hear your opinions before buying one. I don't care how much it hogs the computer resources, I don't really use my PC for gaming, stability and safety is my priority. Please spare me from the "I don't use AV and you shouldn't either, common sense > AV" comments. I know common sense is the most important and I agree that if you only go on Youtube, mail and another few sites for 1h a day and don't do any money transactions on the internet an AV might be useless. But I still want the extra safety net, I often need to make online transactions using different mediums, I often need to visit sites I didn't know about before, I sometimes need to use software that I never used before, I sometimes need to use usb sticks on other computers used by people with ZERO common sense, sometimes a trusted site/software can be infected with malware because it has a single vulnerability somewhere or because of a stupid employee. Also can't use Linux because some of the software I need to use is windows only. I've been using Norton360 (licence expires soon) , and other norton AV's before that for many years just cause I kinda stuck with it after having problems with some other AV's of the time and then not having problems with norton. But recently I keep seeing people that say things like "norton isn't that good, norton isn't the best right now, norton sucks really bad" , and just my personal experience with it is obviously not enough of a sample size to be statistically relevant so that's why I'm asking for your opinions on what to buy next. Thank you and happy hollidays
