  1. Buggy? Yes(Task Man goes bye bye a lot...) Crashes? Not really, Chrome hates me more lol Should point out I also have someone using Linux who has had almost no issues, outside of the annoyances that come with it from windows (aka learning curve), system has yet to crash on them. FYI the ending with the 3 ladies the one being Mac is jealous of/has inferiority complex towards Chrome OS because instead of agreeing with Linux and Windows she stated "I hate that B", and is why Linux looked the way she did at Mac.
  2. Chihuahuas are basically the cowards of the dog world(at least the ones I've known), fear of everything and either bit or pee on fright, I always mocked them growing up till I was around them, decent pets (still won't own one tho). That said not sure if rabbits have balls of steel or are just downright stupid at times, I've had one go and bug a yellow lab that hated being bugged by anyone/thing unless it felt like it, and also went to say hi to a King German Shepperd who just arrived (who stayed for a few months till we found a new owner), it escaped from its safe area just to say hi, similarly to how we got the Shepperd (old owner didn't want to deal with the nonstop runaway)...
  3. I'm sorry gaming? You are not wrong at the last part, you do need a strong computer to do a lot of things macs are well known to do, they just have the persona that they are not meant for gaming. Personally I wouldn't run out and buy a mac just to game on it however. *Stops petting bunny while listening to music* Bunny: *CHOMP* Me: Rabbits can be some of the biggest A-holes you'll ever meet in life...
  4. Nor is it my job to prove yours, however I know yours is full of misleading claims that hold no evidence of proof, while I may not have proof to disprove yours at hand because the internet is full of misinformation on this topic, I however know for a fact you'll never find proper proof so therefore no one who every claims such as you do will ever attempt to prove me wrong because they know they can't. So yes that's how it works, you prove me wrong by proving all those supposed "sources" are genuinely true lol... The internet is in your favor on this after all so why wouldn't you try? Maybe because it's not and everything you know is misinformation aka a lie?
  5. This video had more censorship than a Japanese adult video... I understand him wanting privacy and I don't blame him, but equally choose better locations to shoot then. Less work for editors and less likely they will make a mistake giving away your location, it's really a win/win for LMG... That may be true there, but not here. Here's BCs not sure how it all works exactly but sounds simple enough under x is x amount anything more is x amount. https://app.bchydro.com/accounts-billing/rates-energy-use/electricity-rates/residential-rates.html Here in Ontario you would be smart to push all power out collected and use a battery bank charged at night to live off of since we have a 3 tier billing cycle, night being the cheapest. For me the ROI would be about 15-25 years (10-15 cheating the system) after install which is why I have not done it, and why very few have here or only have installed 4 or so panels. Financially speaking it's a bad decision for most here. Tho I should note, I think our hydro plan has changed to a flat rate thanks to the pandemic but not 100% sure, should really find out lol... However what would be great is a follow up video about this setup in a years time (1 year from move in) to find out how the whole system is working if they are on the road to ROI and how long etc.
  6. 100% how this works, if the claims are even remotely true about how reading before sleeping is actually good for you then proving me wrong should be incredibly easy. However I'm going to go out on a limb here and say those claims are no where to be found with reliable and accountable sources to back said claims up without twisting their words to meet said objectives, why else would you even reply back with "that's not how that works" instead of a well informed post with links to said references? Good luck, because reading books before bed is as useful as studying before bed for the next days exam. Works for a few but not all, prove me wrong, scientifically.
  7. Sorry, not sorry Chrome image.png.5bbf8c42bfc7976f2684547f38192344.png

My computer unlike chrome really doesn't care, 80-90% ram use tho... Computer games F.I.N.E however...

  8. They could be using what was lying around in the stock room instead of actually buying things (at which time they shouldn't be saying they "paid" for it at current value, but state it's current price). However I do agree with your overall point, and what I did when my board for my old i5 died, I got a 3200G with a B450M DS3H V2 (cheaper than the 10 series with board). One thing I am interested in however is how good the cooling on this thing is, also the over all vibrations of the drives being in close proximity of each other because many might just go for cheaper drives vs drives with proper vibration counter measures. Yes, then no... Yes get a big drive (and test it for issues), use it as a temp storage than rip it out and use the drive as more space within said server. I'm using Unraid one suggestion is (for unraid, not sure about others) is set up a 1 to 1 setup initially and start dumping data onto it, afterwards assuming said drives are large enough (or you can remove drives without losing data after emptying one of them) you can take the 3 other drives and either put them in as extra storage or add the largest one as a second parity for more protection, which is what I did. I started off with 3 (1 parity, 2 storage) and increased it to 2/3 with one more I've been too lazy to add making it 2/4 lol...
  9. Oh look I broke Task Manager with nearly 900 tabs open 🤣 Should really try to start closing them to at least 666...

    image.png.deff45fea110535382227dda0099645d.png

  10. Um unless it's a editing error but ONN and the Fire both have the same chipset, so multi processing should be the same outside of the 1GB extra ram and OS customizations. I too also know someone (and bought it for them) who owns both a Sammy Tab and Lenovo tablet (model I forget it's a 10" one), both sound great and both were around the $250 mark in CAD, they don't game any type of fps game so no idea how good they are for those. Should note, it is a pain in the ass at times to get the Lenovo, they sell out so fast lol.
  11. Just because you think it's not doesn't mean it's not. Someone who smokes may think it's not bad for their health does that mean it's not? There are far better options out there. Plus you are only a single person out of nearly 8 billion, and if you read books more often then most people reading before going to bed for you is doing is exactly what you stated not to get yourself into a state of sleep but into a state of relaxation which reading books have been known to do regardless of time of day, fyi you are not slowing your mind, your brain still has to process what you are reading else they become meaningless words and that's when you forget what you just read almost instantly; and why studying before bed for many is a very bad idea. I was going to waste my life in proving both of you wrong, but then I realized my time is worth more than arguing with you, so I tell you what, you prove me wrong. Prove to me that reading is actually good for you before bed. Key words are BEFORE and BED, we all know the advantages of reading, however good luck on finding a non-sponsored paper talking about reading before bed. Here's a good example of taking research papers out of context and what makes you think reading before bed is a good idea, which sums up 99% of the internet really... https://web.archive.org/web/20220123060454/https://www.dreams.co.uk/sleep-matters-club/what-does-reading-before-bed-do-to-an-adults-brain/ (their sites currently down) However if you spend a few minutes and actually research some of the claims all they have done is added "before bed" or alike when the research never stated it specifically possibly never even mentioning it once (like the Ken Hugh brainpower section). So you believe your carrot munching improves your eyes claims for books and sleep, and I'll live in reality ok? Yes I know carrots have said benefits but not to the extent that was enforced on us, same with books and reading before bed. Like I said it's not bad as in it'll kill you but it's equally something that should be a choice not forced upon. Equally look for 39% in the mentioned page, that is the number who read books before bed claiming they sleep very well, have no way to prove this as the PDF is dead, but lets put that into context shale we? That means 61% who read before bed it either makes no (or worst) difference to just below whatever is the definition of "very well" is, aka as in most people DO NOT really benefit from reading before bed, but instead if that's the only time they read books are in fact killing a very useful habit for mental health and wellbeing! Simply put prove me wrong that reading books are not good for you for sleep, not make you stupid or kill you bad but not a very good choice compared to other solutions. Reading before bed was/is also a trick for parents to get their kids to read. This is me right now sitting in front of my computer or phone till I need to go to bed, I'm also surrounded by LED lights lol... Eye strain can be bad at times but next to that I don't have a hard time sleeping. Tbh afaik only reason why watching TV is bad for you is because you are basically doing nothing for the content and likely munching on something other than carrots. Same reason why technically speaking playing games is also unhealthy/bad for you if not under self discipline.
  12. Ok people... STOP READING BOOKS BEFORE BED! It's actually bad for you (in a way), your brain associates reading with sleep, this means if you read at any other time (like say you take the bus/train or even driving to a new place needing to read the signs - tho this is not very likely, unless you are exhausted at which time maybe you shouldn't be driving anyways) you might feel tired after doing so, compromising your ability to function to the best of your abilities! Reading before bed is while a good thing to tell your body it's bed time, so is going in for a shower brushing teeth and doing an actual nightly routine, reading a book before work will stimulate your brain far more than reading at night, trust me if you are that kind of person who likes reading don't read before bed... If you don't do any sort of reading outside of night time, by all means it's a great easy cheap way (actual books not estuff), but seriously try reading in the morning and find better habits for night time... Making your brain active while you sleep isn't needed lol... I used to read books before going to bed then stopped, I now enjoy the books more than reading before going to sleep. I get it for kids, but it's a habit that doesn't need to exist, kids should enjoy the books not associate them with sleep. https://gmlupo.com/books-by-g-m-lupo/ I think these, but not 100% sure. Knowing a few accountants, firms are great but they don't always pay the best. He likely join LMG for the steady work equal or better pay and maybe better benefits or closer to home. Working for a firm can also lead to significant overtime (or very large companies for that mater) esp at years and months/quarter ends, this leaves minimal time for his other clients, so by working for one place even if a little less, keeping his side clients could mean more money in the end with less stress etc. Personally I've gone triple, and I can agree I won't go back, but equally I don't understand the hate Linus has towards the 24" esp for a triple setup... If you want dual go bigger if you want single go insane, but want triple? Don't go higher than 27 imo esp if you're not going high pixel count, when I set mine up I became even more confused as to why Linus would mock a 24" triple for home use. I'll take detail over size any day as a gamer. I'm guessing you owned 2 same sized monitors and the "oddball" 27"
  13. Possibly, there's 3 possibilities for the move. First is personal choice to go next level, other is with all the people he had no choice (living and working makes a house crowded with one/two people but with 4+ it's almost impossible, last videos there it was very crowded looking), the final option is their neighbours complained it was a cul-de-sac after all and with enough cars it becomes an issue. People usually move to cul-de-sacs for the false sense of safety (statically kids were more likely to get hurt or killed there by cars, at least in the USA) so when they see several cars show up for work they may panic and complain...
  14. Nope, maybe tax laws but that's why you hire an accountant every year and toss them your disaster of bills and invoices I guess Linus got yelled at one too many times and decided to hire one on full time (likely cheaper too). So yea, a college drop out is fine to run a business, so is a high school dropout, no requirement necessary outside of money, said venture being successful? Not mandatory either. Yvonne did the bookkeeping initially and how Sarah got her job if I remember correctly. For permits typically contractors can get those for you outside of the initial building permits (building uses are typically zoning bylaws and a nightmare to deal with, easier to look elsewhere, house ran businesses are typically fine with no rezoning requirements, to a point), but building permits are fairly simple here so long they are not structural in design.
  15. Working on the tech doesn't make you a knowledgeable person about it lol... So yeah not very relevant... Here I'll prove it: https://web.archive.org/web/20151130212029/http://www.linusmediagroup.com/history/ enthusiast can mean many things, but it doesn't make you knowledgably or accurate. Being an enthusiast could be what I do which is build my own computers helping others with various issues etc, but never dab into the technical aspects of said products, therefore knowledge can be very limited. Sales Rep aka numbers mater more than knowledge, like I said being knowledgeable doesn't make the company money, selling the most profitable items within the persons budget does. All a sales rep needs to know is this in a tech store: AMD socket for AMD processors same for Intel, RAM version for the board in question, and CD/HDD connection types (at that time IDE was slowly dying but still a thing). You know, the information on the box, quick google search etc. Simple things, minimal knowledge required. High end systems designer, aka PC builder, aka someone who can screw screws insert things into sockets, design and maximize the profits within the clients budgets while making everything work and the company mad money. This only needs basic knowledge of computer building and know how to read the QVL, you know something that common home PC builders do, but on a daily bases. You don't need to know much more than a home builder who has built at least 1 computer to do this job. Product/Category Manager, oh boy these are fun ones... You don't need to know jack shit for these jobs, you just need to know how to do your job, experience in the industry is a huge advantage however, but knowledge can be basic... You need to know what products sell, what don't and what are needed to be kept in stock regardless of sales numbers (like thermal paste). You don't need to understand the tech side of things you don't need to know anything specific outside of what a sales rep does (beneficial, but really not needed) about said products (as in you don't want to stock Intel chips and AMD boards only), your main goal here is to make the company money by maximizing shelf space with the most profitable products that have a high (or as high as possible) turnaround time. Don't know what a turnaround time is? It's the timeframe of how long it takes to cycle said products stock so something that sells once a month has a low turnaround and you may not want to stock much of it if at all (special orders exist as warehouse space is cheaper than the storefronts), whereas something that sells daily has a high turnaround, you want most of your store with a proper mixture of both that brings in the most amount of money with minimal waste. Simply put you need to know what your market will buy and stock that at prices that will sell and make the company money, someone with 0 tech knowledge can do these jobs. Simply put working at a computer parts store doesn't make you knowledgeable regardless of time and position there, it just makes you a good business person if you have high sales numbers and go up the ranks like Linus did. Did he learn a thing or 2 from working there about computers? Sure most likely, but not the amount that people keep claiming, he likely learned far more about how to not run a business by working for NCIX (esp his last year or 2) than learning about computers and the tech inside them. If he learned way more than what is logical it was via self improvement and not on the job, but once again that then has nothing to do with where one works but everything to do with how one spends their time off from work. Linus during his downtime at NCIX was likely doing other things more than looking at spec sheets about Intel's latest greatest architecture, like oh idk pushing products up front on the shelves to make them look full, restocking etc. You know the basics of working at any B&M storefront... The company doesn't care about spec sheets, they care about sales and what the store looks like and likely expect you do other things instead. Also FYI Linus was a floor sales man, he didn't just jump into some of the highest positions within the company by Thanos snapping his fingers as a College dropout Maybe read up on your history before making bold claims, also even at those positions you are still a sales person esp if staffing is short that day, my local CC I see the supervisor all the time on the floor helping customers, regardless of position you are still a sales person in those stores, unless you sit your ass in a office all day and never leave.
  16. It was interesting to watch but... I'm guessing this is every LMG employee right now: Also they've done this in the past, I don't recall this being brought up then. If it don't say, no exemption exists. Tho I think they did put the same warning in this video, but still.
  17. buddy that isn't how everyone learns, there are at least 2 types of learning study and hands on... Give me a book with stuff in it about almost anything and I'll literally ask you if you want me to beat you over the head with it, instead of reading it trying to understand it. Equally no script one takes? Sure, maybe on camera, but realistically? Do you think someone even Linus would really walk in knowing little to F all about what they intend to talk about and do a one take video? If you believe that I have prime swamp land that you can build the 55 million dollar mansion (I'll literally pay for it, even tho I don't have swamp land nor the money) you want on it and it wont sink, EVER! If you somehow have proof of your claims of him not practicing pre-recording from his past videos please do display evidence, creeper/stalker, because realistically that's the only way you would know if he just walked in front of a camera yoloing the video. I remember some of his old videos they had notes on paper, he would review them likely beforehand as well, nothing with his videos were YOLO outside of live stream, but even those had a goal and talking points. TL;TR is anyone who has done business, sales, or marketing (you clearly haven't) knows the best person to present shit is the one who can remember the shit that needs to be presented with or (best) without notes or key points written down, and can present it in a fashion that people will be willing to listen to. So sure he one took videos with or without notes, but don't fool yourself he was prepared before that record button was hit, most informed? No, but prepared to the best of his abilities? Yes. The point is because he can confidentially speak in a single take even back then doesn't mean he knew his stuff, let alone remember it now. No one I repeat NO ONE who took/takes YouTube seriously has ever walking in front of a camera (or mic) and spewed what they knew without preplanning to some degree, well at least channels like LTT etc. Gaming and alike channels frequently YOLO their stuff then once popular they start tuning their videos for views, you can see this with channels like GreyStillPlays where a few years ago he would randomly play games to preselected ones that have proven best for content and fast to produce with lots of personal stuff being left out. Another is lets game it out, tho he is more freelancing his videos, but he still has a plan/goal in mind.
  18. Can't one argue it's both? It's the responsibility of the company to hire competent people correct? Yes but if that clueless person knows how to sell swamp land as prime real-estate they will make you a butt ton of money, hence no incentive to hire competent people who know things. There's a reason why NCIX went under (and why Linus left before hand), just because he worked in the industry doesn't mean he learned a damn thing from being there about the products outside of the basics that Google could have easily taught you as well. Trust me, I saw NCIX fall just like Linus... They went from good to shit, almost over night it seemed. True, but that doesn't mean sales necessarily, for example if I walked in acting like a complete numpty I would be taken for a ride buying the most profitable crap on the shelves, at either NCIX or CC even when/where Linus worked. Why? Knowledge doesn't produce numbers, selling the most profitable item (aka the i9 series with top tier board ram and gpu) is... So someone who knows how to hawk crap will have higher sales but lower customer satisfaction (doesn't mater when you basically dominate the walk-in PC components industry, they'll be back), vs someone who knows a lot will possibly waste time with each customer getting to know what they want to do etc with higher customer satisfaction but lower sales number which the company does not like. Simply put a knowledgeable person would likely be sacked due to poor sales.
  19. Walk into any Canada Computers and this will be proven to be a meaningless statement lol... Esp higher up you go in the chain. Trust me NCIX, at least in Ontario was no better, they are sales driven not knowledge... I wouldn't trust a single thing younger Linus working at NCIX would have said unless I researched it myself before asking and double checking with them before purchase. Tho that is still good practice today, so you don't get screwed by corporate greed and sales numbers... I was in the local CC not to long ago where they were hawking about a 2060 (not super I think) trying to push a sale with a 6600XT right next to it...
  20. It's called a teleprompter without that he's no different than Elon Musk and SpaceX... He'll learn things by being around people but by no means is he able to tell you about it without help.
  21. Yvonne was his tutor in College correct? I forget what she tutored him on, if one was English that would explain the bulk of the issues here... Pirates who think they are doing the world good by saying F the big boys they don't need more money, those kinds of people will defend Linus (and people like him) to the ends of the world and I doubt anything on their computers are actually bought and paid for, legitimately, G2A keys don't count people...
  22. Yes, but in order to prove you bought the product (aka not stealing) you would need to activate the license correct? Linus doesn't do this. So how can you or I say he actually owns a key for his test benches? Yes, but in that case he should have stated he has corporate licensing, which he hasn't, remember if he doesn't say it chances are he doesn't have it knowing him, don't assume he is playing fair because he clearly doesn't. Yes and no, you are still required by Microsoft to activate your key asap, equally if MS wanted to be pricks about it every third build they could demand payment of a new key correct? Once again if he had corporate licensing he should have just stated so, but the fact he hasn't means he is either abusing the single key (as in how many windows installs does he actually have with that key on drives, they don't have to be simultaneously on, it's still a violation of use) which is against MS's terms of sale for the key, or he doesn't own a key for the benches, which is more likely based on his past behaviors.
  23. Wow, NO to trial windows is to trial the operating system, LMG DOES NOT DO THIS! How hard is that to understand? LMG using windows to install and run software to test the hardware, NOT for compatibility with WINDOWS but to test the limits and ability of the hardware installed. THEREFORE THEIR USE IS NOT WHAT THE TRIAL VERSION IS FOR. EULA is not law you are correct (but doesn't halt legal actions), however by never intending to buy a license doing so is still a form of theft, piracy is a form of theft correct? While you are right what they are doing is not piracy, it is still theft as they require a key for what they use the software for and failed to buy one. FYI because it's theft at that point anyone can tip the police off at which time an investigation could happen, the police do not need MS to agree with their investigation, they would just need them to hand over what they know. Also FYI downloading and using a trial version with no intention on buying the final product (by bypassing trial restrictions including day count) could be seen as a form of piracy, you don't need to download it illegally, you just need the willful intent to not pay for what you are using. Occasionally there are bugs and glitches out there, WD had one not too long ago for Canadian residence (enterprise drives for stupidly low money, they canceled the abusers but shipped the one or 2 drive orders), where you can get things free. These glitches typically don't have legal consequences, they can however have legal consequences if abused, sought after, forced etc. Esp if it's classified as an exploit, and by reinstalling Windows to bypass the 30 day limit deliberately would be seen as a exploit correct? This is because you are deliberately avoid the day limit by abusing the fact it resets upon a fresh install. Piracy = Microsoft has to trigger it Theft = Anyone can. The question is which is it? Theft or Piracy? That could happen one day, but if they feel court action is needed it won't be buying anything it will be served with something worst lol... At which time LMG could be on the hook for a license every time a unlicensed version of windows has appeared in a video. His risk not mine. So I actually don't care what Linus does, he clearly likes playing with risk factors that most in his position would not want to do, esp publicly. Like I said that's on him, what he does is his business, my point is you are wrong to say he's doing nothing wrong because only his viewers and not the creators of the software called him out on it. That's simply not how the world works, maybe to you it does, maybe you've successfully ran over 5 people in front of a cop and get away with it, but doesn't mean what you did was any less illegal than the next person who gets caught at the same location doing the exact same thing. No sh*t Sherlock, every person on this planet is a hypocrite at least once in their life (usually daily at some point). My main point is just because one doesn't care doesn't mean it's right like you think it is, if Linus wants to risk a lawsuit that's on him and if it happens (doesn't have to be MS) I'm going to my pants laughing.
  24. Except they are not testing the new hardware for windows compatibility but using windows to test the hardware with software therefore, they are misusing the trial version of Windows at said time. Once again just because they don't care doesn't mean he shouldn't. Equally just because they don't care doesn't mean he didn't break any laws. With that logic running a red light in front of a cop going to bank robbery would be perfectly legal even if you ran over 5 pedestrians and kept driving doing so... Simply put just because it's not enforced doesn't mean it's right, or not illegal. That's not how the law works, everyone including me break some sort of law on a daily bases since we are not perfect, but just because said laws are not enforced (or frequently) doesn't mean our actions are not illegal. Right, so why doesn't Linus do this? One time fee call when their system demands it done. That way he can say gtfo to everyone MS has been paid and is fine with it. Simple right? Apparently not.
  25. I'm sorry but YOU are wrong. That 30 days is for trial use only not to install for test benching purposes, while you can technically extend or find ways around it you would be effectively using the software outside of the terms of the trial version of the software. Linus clearly doesn't use Windows for trial purposes therefore he should purchase a license in that case. So you are a hypocrite then as mentioned by the guy in the very video you posted? Also using said program for such purposes as LMG does is likely against the terms of the program itself. Just because Microsoft doesn't care doesn't mean Linus shouldn't either and continue said practices. My Windows XP Pro key became a unlimited activation after the 3rd time and a quick email chat with MS, I'm sure they are more than happy to do the same with Linus... It's not like Linus is poor, he can afford the key...
