  2. Just making the point that you shouldn't cheap out on a PSU. That's just what I use in my personal rig cause I got a rebate on it so it was ~$80. Love the flat modular cables.
  3. Most Z97 boards are the same, so just pick one that's available with the color scheme you like. Any ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte or ASRock will do. Relevant LTT video:
  4. $300? I'd do Z97-E ($110 USD) and an RM650 ($120). Little extra budget for other stuff.
  5. Agree with @Lotus. Z97-E. Personal opinion, use at least an RM series power supply. I wouldn't trust a CS/CX class power supply with anything but an i3 build. See: http://i.imgur.com/tgrbCnr.jpg
  6. You could try cleaning out the sockets with compressed air, I just use one of these since the PS2 doesn't output more than 480i anyways. Even classic RCA cables output 480i. BUT if your TV only has HDMI I would try to diagnose which part might be faulty. The RCA cable, the converter, or even the HDMI cable could be bad. Good luck.
  7. Does the adapter itself say it only converts the right channel, or did you just assume? It might have a broken pin or something. If its not broken you could just use an RCA to 3.5mm converter directly to some speakers.
  8. Changed to laptop. Fine Changed to WiFi. Fine Testing things I turned off QoS. Works on Ethernet now. What? Must be a bug with the Firmware detecting Youtube as an uplink source and throttling it to the 4Mbps uplink. Thanks for your help.
  9. Tried Edge and IE on Windows 10. Followed Youtube's guide for troubleshooting: https://support.google.com/youtube/checklist/3480866?hl=en&ref_topic=6077002
  10. So, I've been watching Youtube videos at 1440p+ lately, and I've been having a problem. I can't get it to playback without buffering. I have a 60Mbps connection that I confirm I can use all of it all of the time. So why is Youtube buffering? I checked my router, which is an ASUS RT-AC68U, since it has an app monitor to see what a specific app's usage on the connection is. It's showing that Youtube is only using 4Mbps, AND that its using it on the uplink, while almost none (0.5Mbps) on the downlink. That's the max speed of my upload too. It also shows 3145Kbps in 'Stats for nerds' on the video itself. How can that be when you're streaming from the servers? Thanks, and if you need it the debug info is below: {"ns":"yt","el":"detailpage","cpn":"cb0nvvxlOQUpdZdn","docid":"4d0B0Dli-1g","ver":2,"referrer":"https://accounts.google.com/signin/challenge?continue=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fsignin%3Fhl%3Den%26feature%3Dsign_in_button%26app%3Ddesktop%26next%3D%252Fwatch%253Fv%253D4d0B0Dli-1g%26action_handle_signin%3Dtrue&service=youtube&hl=en&checkedDomains=youtube&checkConnection=youtube%3A350%3A1&pstMsg=1","cmt":"55.148","plid":"AAUc-wsj4BW3uLap","ei":"CA3JVe7DKMWtqgXYzICoAg","fmt":"271","fs":"0","rt":"1371.53","of":"Y-46tEBbkDMTcW2Ic_IMcw","adformat":null,"content_v":null,"euri":"","subscribed":"1","lact":53,"live":null,"cl":"100036190","mos":0,"osid":null,"state":"4","vm":null,"volume":100,"c":"WEB","cver":"html5","cplayer":"UNIPLAYER","cbr":"Chrome","cbrver":"45.0.2454.26","cos":"Windows","cosver":"10.0","hl":"en_US","cr":"US","len":"912","fexp":"3300110,3300134,3311879,3312231,3312381,3312701,9407157,9407168,9408521,9408710,9409171,9413123,9415365,9415435,9415485,9416023,9416126,9416729,9417192,9417203,9417926,9418009,9418083,9418153,9418330,9418573","afmt":"251","at":"2_1","allowed":"1_2,1_2_1,1_1,1_3,2_2_1,2_2,2_1,2_3","vct":"55.148","vd":"912.000","vpl":"0.000-4.524,4.724-49.791,49.991-55.148,","vbu":"48.048-106.772,","vpa":true,"vsk":false,"ven":false,"vpr":1,"vrs":4,"vns":2,"vec":null,"lct":"55.148","lsk":false,"lmf":true,"lbw":"436465.184","lhd":"0.224","ltd":"222.558","laa":"itag=251,seg=10,range=2055515-2073287,time=105.8-106.8","lva":"itag=271,seg=19,range=52561513-54778262,time=103.6-106.8","lar":"itag=251,seg=11,range=2134065-2320866,time=110.0-120.0","lvr":"itag=271,seg=20,range=54778263-57314526,time=106.8-112.0","lvh":"r5---sn-vgqsener","lab":"40.001-106.861,","lvb":"48.048-106.772,","debug_videoId":"4d0B0Dli-1g","gpu":"ANGLE_(NVIDIA_GeForce_GTX_980_Direct3D11_vs_5_0_ps_5_0)","cgr":true,"debug_playbackQuality":"hd1440","debug_date":"Mon Aug 10 2015 17:06:48 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time)"}
  11. If your router has the option, check under Advanced Wireless options to make sure 'AP Isolated' is off for both 2.4 and 5GHz.
  12. I've been looking to get a Media PC for a while and this would work great! Best of luck to all.
  13. So sorry about the late update, been busy with Christmas and stuff. Turns out it was a bad card. So I just returned the EVGA and got the STRIX card. No crashes, and even got a little more overclocking outta it! Gonna mark this as solved.
  14. My case is the 380T so the card is up against the side vent so it can get fresh air. Never went above 79 thanks to thermal throttling. Even when I turned the temperature target up to 90, it didn't go above 83. I read that the early EVGA 970s had this flaw. I'm going to pick up an ASUS Strix 970 instead.
  15. Sorry for the SUPER late response. Been busy with stuff. I finally found my old 760, so I booted into safe mode, uninstalled the driver with DDU, then put in the 760 and reinstalled the driver. Haven't crashed once on this card after an hour of gaming, which the 970 would crash within 15 minutes. I guess I have to RMA my card now.
