Updated the repo with systems up to now. I'll generate some new lists from that.

How do you have the externals hooked up? You're not running 231TB of USB drives are you?
  3. Broken link on the first page, Floatplane.
  4. Are there any users here who are using a Freedom360 Rig using an array of GoPro cameras whose brain I could pick about your workflows? I'm curious mostly about 360 photography, but I've been doing some investigating about mixing in some streaming using HDMI capture dongles.
  5. That does seem like a much more straight forward solution. Prevent issues with the GoPro locking up by just removing the problem. I could then still use an external mic on the GoPro to capture a channel of ambient sound. It does assume I'm not going to have the same issues with the audio recorder and the inputs, but I can position that so I can see what's happening with it since it doesn't have to be in a specific location in the car. I could set it to run for several hours if I got a recorder with enough space, I tend to use the wireless remote to start and stop the cameras since there is a lot going on. I'll take a look at those brands. Is there anywhere on here that goes through and reviews some of these? I'd be looking for the ability to capture a long time, input of audio, and external power / replaceable batteries over high quality or built in mics.
  6. I've been using Hitfilm Express for editing and combining GoPro footage. I find it's pretty easy to match up multiple videos and overlay them, which is really all I've been doing with it. I've had some good experiences recently with post processing video stabilization in HitFilm since I often have some shaky bits of footage from bumpy roads. Davinci Resolve seems to be pretty popular, has anyone using that used HitFilm as a comparison?
  7. I've been using my GoPro Hero 2 cameras for a few years to capture in car video during stage rally events. One of the features of the video capture is I plug the mic jack of the camera into a car intercom to capture audio between the driver and co driver. I move the system between different vehicles since I codrive for different people, but therefore have little control over the intercom itself. Sometimes I find that when the car is started while the GoPro is plugged into the intercom it'll cause the GoPro to lock up and I need to pull the battery to get it to work again. The GoPro uses battery power, but the intercom is connected to the car's power system in different ways depending on the car. I'm assuming I'm getting some sort of voltage coming up the 3.5mm plug causing the GoPro to freak out. Is there anything I can do with the camera or put inline between the camera and the intercom that could help prevent this? It's never fun to get to the end of a stage and realize you've missed something exciting. Sample For Attention Another because theyre fun!

Almost there. I've gotten everyone's systems in up to now. I did notice something about the timeline graphs. I think they were just plotting the dates systems were entered evenly along the x axis instead of spread out based on time. Sample attached to this post. Notice 2017 in the graph on the right is much narrower than 2013 on the same graph. I've just about got it sorted out for the capacity graph and then I could merge that into the other timelines. Is there any other sort of changes to the graphs people would find interesting?

I'm going to spend some time in the next week or so to go through and updated everything again. If you've gotten some sweet black friday deals it'd be a good time to get it all assembled!
  10. That's an excellent start and I may give that a shot for my own setup to schedule backups to docked drives. Now bundle it up with maybe a two drive NAS enclosure for local RAID and a dock for swap-able disks to take off site? Or some other easy to use, reasonably priced hardware solution. Style the video like one of the project videos where they do the long distance wifi or the comfortable game room. Bonus points if it can have a home cloud option for a phone.

No problem. It wasn't that bad to figure out. You had it all hosted so that I could just fork it and go. The documentation was close enough even if some of it still mentioned PERL that I added a couple modules to my installation and it worked. The config json files were easy to figure out too. Any critique of code for something of this purpose would be pretty subjective, it solves a problem, that's reasonable code. This is absolutely one of the threads that I got reading, and still come back to, the forum for. May as well keep it going. It's a great idea building thread for something that isn't gaming.

I see what is happening with the graphs, they're hosted out of a message conversation which I can see and the mod who helped post the code can see so it looked good when we tested it. We'll find a way to change that shortly. Drive Heatmaps OS Heatmaps Rankings Storage Systems Timelines

I may miss a few people that were updates but some new systems have been added: @snortingfrogs @brwainer @Poohy14 @Lurick @TopWargamer @Nemockulous @handruin @JK Vengeance @porina @Darkside447 @GreasyGaming @deafboy @Mikensan @H3llscr3am @dkuhn @grimreeper132 @LAwLz @kiddsupreme @SakuraChan @Thorn57 @gcs8 updates: @b348xyx @AnonymousGuy @Mkvarner @djdwosk97 @Helly @Green_man_5 @unijab @Night_Rider0 @Dr_Frankenstein @dalekphalm @Jarsky I had to add a bunch of new OS and Drive types. I also am sure I missed at least one system of note that didn't have five drives. I'll go back and find that to add next time. I was able to get colonel_mortis, one of the mods, to put in the html for me into the front page. Big thanks for the help on that. I'm going to update the github repository with the updates I've made to the configuration pages. I'll keep an eye out for some updates and maybe try making another update then. Or maybe just when I add some drives to try to get a better rank myself

I'd be curious to check it out. eSATA still relies on the same single motherboard for control. It isn't just slamming external USB drives onto the system. I assume that's really what the original rule was attempting to avoid.
