  1. You're correct. I took the OMOLED description from the Verge description. My bad.
  2. With today's Windows 10 Fall Creators Update going live, virtual reality (sorry Microsoft, Windows Mixed Reality) gains another player. And with Microsoft's purchase of AltspaceVR, and tie into XBox games (Halo: Recruit as a free download), this might be interesting. I'm particularly interested in the possibility of better headset designs, building on the HTC and Oculus experiences. I particularly like the one offered by Samsung (Odyssey). At $499, it offers resolution of 1440 x 1600 per eye (verses 1080 x 1200 for Vive), 60/90 fps framerate, 110 degree field of view and an AMOLED display, plus built-in AKG headphones. No external room sensors used, just cameras and sensors in the headset. I've been holding off buying any VR headset for some time, but have preordered this one for shipment Nov. 10. Main concern is short term amount of software that will be available for the Microsoft Mixed Reality platform and whether the camera based system will work as well as the Vive room sensor system. But I will find out! Not affiliated with Samsung or Microsoft in any way. https://www.theverge.com/2017/10/17/16487936/microsoft-joins-the-vr-battle-with-windows-mixed-reality-today https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-mixed-reality https://seekingalpha.com/news/3299116-microsoft-roundup-vr-acquisition-halo-recruit-launch-date-new-samsung-headset
