  1. The PC is on and definitely still running. The PSU is 750W for a build projected to use ~550W. Nothing is overclocked.
  2. Hello, this is an issue with my roommates computer. Whenever we install the video driver the screen turns black because no signal is provided from the graphics card. Computer restart, no fix. Reinstall windows without internet works because it isn't able to install the graphics driver. We originally fixed this issue by switching HDMI cables (that somehow worked?) so we assumed maybe the cord itself wasn't up to spec (the only thing upgraded was the GPU, the monitor is 1080p60hz, so it makes no sense for why switching cords worked) (When I upgraded my setup to a 1440p144hz monitor I needed a new cord, which DOES make sense). However the issue is back. For example, whenever he starts a game as soon as things begin to get rendered and load in the screen goes back to black. The computer fails to boot into windows half the time, because it goes to black. Boots in BIOS/UEFI fine. Ryzen 5 2600 AMD 6800 XT 2x16GB DDR4 2400 MHz (no XMP) 1080p60hz monitor via HDMI Asrock AB320M motherboard Recap of things tried 1. reinstalled windows 2. try updating graphics driver 3. sometimes updating the driver outright fails
  3. That is pretty much it except I don't see anywhere that explicitly describes a table clamp as a point of mounting. I wanna be able to sit at any table and raise an arm so that the deck is at head level with me so I can program, do graphic design, etc without any strain or cumbersome setups.
  4. Alright so I've been thinking about using the Steam Deck as both a mobile gaming device but also a laptop through a hub and external keyboard/mouse. However, of course it would be insane to suggest moving a giant clunky monitor everywhere. This is where my idea comes in: have you ever seen a professional microphone setup (or VESA mount)? For some they use a clamp. It clamps between the bottom and top of a desk with an arm to move the mic around. Wouldn't it be easy to make something just like that, but for holding up the steam deck? That way you can use an external keyboard and mouse while also propping up the steam deck's screen at a comfortable distance to your head. I see this as an absolute win.
  5. I'd imagine they have every incentive to false positive flag any files that may have to do something with unofficially activating windows, whether or not it is malicious in any way. I didn't read it anywhere. It simply happened to me multiple times where well-trusted files were marked as false positives, especially ones that would jeopardize profits. I just built it in the past two years, and provided the important specs. As I already said, I have a 1TB NVME SSD. Again, already stated my specs - I don't need some 256MB vRAM GPU, because I already have a GX 1660 SUPER. I sure wish the 32GB's of RAM I had was being used to "boost responsiveness" because it feels slow as hell.
  6. Hiya. Every mainstream article on "how to make yer pc run faster!!" is the same exact boring crap. such as uninstall crap/bloat (I already have) upgrade RAM (I already have 32GB) disable "startup apps" (I already have) disable windows appearance crap (done) defrag scan for malware update OS/drivers etc My Windows experience however constantly feels terrible, despite having (what I would consider) great hardware like a 1TB SSD, OC R7 5800x, OC 1660 SUPER. I'm pretty sure this is just W11 being an awful upgrade, because the file explorer will constantly crash or stop responding, and searching for files with the windows key is a buggy mess almost 90% of the time on the first try. However, I am interested in some wacky ass no-cost edits or modifications. I remember a while ago reading about some regedit on packet sending and sending the individual bytes of data instead of a packet ??? because technically that would decrease latency on games - haven't heard of it since I read it like 5 years ago so I'm sure that was a big goofy thing that doesn't quite work. edit: I think it was this The only outlandish modification I've done to my windows is disable windows defender, because it is really good at saying non-malware is malware simply because it may hurt their profits. I'm happy to try any edits. Screw system stability or common sense. :]
  7. Hello, I use a very bulky mouse ( https://us.msi.com/Gaming-Gear/Interceptor-DS200-GAMING-Mouse ) Before, I used a much lighter, smaller mouse, and I think it felt better, and easier to control ( https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/m510-wireless-mouse.910-001822.html ). Not to mention, I think I might prefer not having a thumb rest (I thiiiiiink its more comfortable to have my thumb push into the mouse than lay on a slanted extrusion) Now, completely ignoring this, I bought a "Razer Basilisk Ultimate Wireless Optical Mouse", which seems like a sorta bulky mouse as well, not sure if it will be any better in terms of comfort / ergonomics. ( https://www.razer.com/gaming-mice/razer-basilisk-ultimate/RZ01-03170100-R3U1 ) So in case I dislike the Basilisk Ultimate, I would prefer some smaller mouse suggestions. Any suggestion is welcome, wireless is of course preferred (as I will be using a keyboard with USB ports, I figure there will be no problem with connectivity).
  8. I'm having this exact problem except on Unturned, another BE game. its a shame this wasn't solved. I'm quite upset about this. The game launches just fine without BE, but with BE it gets stuck
  9. Can't be the GPU since I have never ever had a ghosting problem on my former monitor, a TN panel. yeah I was specifically looking for a monitor that had 1ms latency. if you consider the darks ghosting this horribly bad as bad latency then yeah sure, this is BS advertising.
  10. busted out my DSLR to showcase just how horrible the ghosting is on the settings that I personally think produces the best picture quality, compared to a setting that essentially adds a bunch of gamma via "shadow boost" option on the monitor.
  11. I tried "ELMB SYNC" to reduce ghosting but it didn't help. I'm using factory default "60" for overdrive, because 80 will give coronas in some circumstances and anything less than 60 (40, 20, 0) don't give any benefits. I'm not sure what to tell you. I tried w and wo freesync. The absolute only solution to ending the ghosting is by blasting my gamma way up, which I do via hotkey through a super old program called Gapa. I'd use it to make vieeing in darkness / night time in games easier, but given this new monitor, it's a must-have-enabled in order to play without giving myself a huge headache. of course, at a loss of picture quality. if you have any recommendations for settings, or suggestions in general to combat ghosting, then go ahead. but doing more research makes me believe I'd be better off trying to take this monitor back and getting an IPS panel on par with these specs. idk...
  12. I bought two monitors at the same time with the same specs listed in the title, tried both out, both had horrible ghosting. I sent the one I thought was worse quality ( https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TPw7YJ/msi-optix-mag321cqr-315-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-optix-mag321cqr ) back for refund, and I've been using the other one ( https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KBcRsY/asus-tuf-gaming-vg32vq-315-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-vg32vq ) for 30 days now. I really don't like the ghosting at all. The difference between standing still in Minecraft for example, looks great and highly detailed, but moving at all is so blurry it gives me a serious headache. I figured I'd get used to it, maybe overcome it, but I literally can't, but I'm already past the 30 day return period for Newegg. The monitor I kept had a ridiculous 90$ off sale for just the day I intended to buy, so I got it incredibly cheaper than it was supposed to be. I chose a VA panel because my friend said it would be better than my TN panel. When I told him about the ghosting, he said that he thought it was just his monitor - not a problem with all VA monitors. I looked around online and some forums claim that some VA panels have horrible ghosting while others have minimal ghosting on par with TN panels. This monitor's color choices are also difficult as well. With my TN panel there was one clear choice that gave the most colors, but with this new monitor darks are so bad on "scenery" mode, and the next best mode "racing" makes everything look a lot lighter and not so great. My question is I suppose, what IS a good monitor with the spces in the title that DOESN'T have ridiculous ghosting. 1440p, high refresh rate, huge 30 or so inch, curved, low response time, better colors, so on. I figured 300$+ would be enoigh for a good monitor but idk.
  13. well that blows because I seriously cannot remember if there are any important files on the phone. thanks.
  14. Title. Phone does not turn on. There is no way to do the conventional method of file transfer. There is no power in the phone. Of course I imagine the solution would be, probably, very hard, maybe even out of my realm of potential. I'm wondering if there is any way to get the data without doing something extremely costly, like taking it to a shop, or having them repair whatever part of the phone wont let it turn on (to then do file transfer) Thankyou.
