  1. My PC: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HBGbNN The monitor: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0714BLPK1/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=IMSW11YXHSOTN&colid=9NV01O731GPF&psc=1 So this is a pricey piece of kit, however, i really like the way that it sounds (144hz, 1440p, 1ms response, G-SYNC etc) plus its a curved screen which i've always wanted. I am currently using the ACER ASPIRE KG271 which is a 1080p 75hz monitor which i have never had an issue with, but i have always wanted to have dual monitors. I was thinking about getting a better gaming monitor and then using my current display as a secondary screen for facebook/spotify etc. Would my PC be able to run games well on this display and also would it be worth it or am i better off going with the ACER PREDATOR range or something all together different. This is the maximum i would like to pay for a display. If you currently have this monitor or something similar i would love to hear your thoughts.
  2. Yeah i would personally go dual fan either way, or triple fan, but your budget doesn't accommodate for that.
  3. Lots of cherry RGB keyboards on Amazon are currently reduced.. At least they are on the UK site. SSD Such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E250B-AM/dp/B00OAJ412U/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1513457984&sr=1-4&keywords=240gb+ssd Maybe something to customise his pc? Custom cable sleeves from cable mod? I struggle with gift giving too, thats all i can think of right now GL
  4. Would definately be worth your time and the extra cash... However, if you really cant stretch to £250 (Which i can't stress how much you should try too) then go for the palit one, hasn't got the best looks but its dual fan so should keep colder which also helps if you ever want to OC
  5. I am also in the UK... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zotac-NVIDIA-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B01I5O5AP2/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1513457540&sr=1-3&keywords=gtx+1060+6gb https://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-NE51060015J9-1060D-NVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B01IMZTEBK/ref=sr_1_19?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1513457540&sr=1-19&keywords=gtx+1060+6gb Try these, they aren't too much more and will be far better, especially in VR.
  6. The 1070ti is pretty much nearly a 1080 if you wanted to save some cash, however, if you have the money for a 1080, go for the 1080 I'd advise the strix one also if you can afford it.
  7. 100% wait and save up for the 6gb version then... seriously, you'd be silly not too EDIT: There is only like £60 difference in the two
  8. I'd prefer 1080p 144hz... However, there will be loads of people that will say 1440p, It's personal choice really
  9. The Palit one you have listed in this thread is the 6GB option... You said you can afford all of the ones you have linked? So why would you go for the 3gb option..? Plus the Palit one has dual fan
  10. Definately go for the 6gb model.. It'll be worth it 100% EDIT: The palit card you have linked there is the 6gb model anyway, i'd go for that
  11. I'd suggest picking up some 120mm fans and installing them into your case... I have no doubt that this will help cool your system a few degrees
  12. Well i mean the box will be opened... Not the psu though go for it
  13. They probably just have to use specific words when advertising them. They won't have been opened at all... @magicammo
  14. I'm sure he plays other things too?? Haha It happens dude, i'm glad its all okay now All the best
  15. Ah okay, you might need to ask if you can swap it for a new one? Maybe try another PCIE slot first, but mine was definitely the GPU unfortunately..
  16. I have recently entered the bios on my system and been through the "EZ Tuning Wizard". I have then looked on HWMonitor? How do i know what speed my cpu is running at? Is the the clock speed? If not where should i be looking to find out...? Also is 35 degrees safe for the CPU at idle? I also just noticed its spiking to 70C whilst completely idle too? Only for a second though..?
  17. Perhaps double check that your GPU is seated properly in place.
  18. I was not sure if this was part of the same budget
  19. And how does the Left Alt+Left Shift+Print Screen affect this? what does it change?
  20. Have you got a picture at all? I'm not sure im 100% understanding what you mean?
