Most of my current rig was built with used parts.  The CPU, MB, Graphics Card, and HDD were all bought on Ebay or craigslist.  Its been a little over a year now with no issues, and I saved a hell of a lot of money. I would recommend buying used parts to anyone.  You just have to be careful who your'e buying from.

If you're recording on your microphone with your computer in the same room then no fans.

Alternatively you can put the PC in a different room or closet and run the cables you need to your display.

For one you have apt to get software e.g sudo apt install appname I would say is easier as you don't have to first open a browser, open a Search engine, type in the name, open that website and download the app. Then jump through clicking next until till its done.

For debs you just open up the terminal and type sudo dpkg -I package.deb

this might be "harder" than windows but having all software in one repository means that chance on malware type apps is extremely low.

applications and scripts need to be marked as excitable before being allowed to run and any application wanting higher permissions require your user password.

    very resistant to malware.

I can't speak to the software of the camera you are considering, but the webcam software I use allows me to save data to an FTP server or the cloud.  You're covered as long as you don't save only to the SD card on the camera.

Mini HDMI. I've gone through 2 of those mini to HDMI adapters because they're designed in such a way that the weight of the adapter and the attached cable is guaranteed to snap off the tiny connector on the adapter.

And while we're on the subject of display ports, all VGA out ports should have the mounting screw holes. It's dumb how only the professional grade laptops have this while on consumer laptops, the cable will constantly pull right out or feel like it's going to damage the solder joints of the port it's plugged into.
