  1. I have a gigabit connection using Centurylink and I get pretty bad ping considering speeds and what ping Ive gotten using slower speed providers. I'm not sure if there is a way to fix it or if Centurylink is just that bad.. I definitely could use some advice. I'm not sure what information you need so ask away!
  2. I've written a thread on this before, but I'm having trouble with my ping. I have a gigabit fiber connection but my ping on a speedtest gives 30ms ping.. but if I do a traceroute I get 3 ms..? Would this be a routing problem or a modem problem? My ping in games are 50ms to 80ms and that's a lot considering the timing of the traceroute. Any ideas?
  3. Oh for sure! I'm gonna put some on the desk and maybe add some accent lighting around the room. I may get something like nanoleafs but they're so expensive. If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them! I'm still trying to find things to add to the room for decoration.
  4. right, I have a less reliable ISP to begin with, but its all Im provided in my area. I will see if I can fix this and get the ping I should be getting.
  5. Thank you! It is definitely a routing problem, I'll have to contact my ISP about this soon.
  6. My problem is that I should be getting 15-30 ping in game, when the route to the servers are right I get great in game ping but 40-70 feels unplayable.
  7. Forgot to post a pic, so here's the final product! Definitely gonna need a bigger mousepad
  8. I am having trouble with my ping, I get 200 down and 300 up but on speedtest I get 27 ping to a location about 170 miles from my house. I have fiber but I dont understand why I get such high ping. some days I'll get 6 ping but most of the time it says 27-30. are there any fixes? Im putting in ethernet soon but even on ethernet I get 27 ping.. In games I get 40-70..
  9. Yeah, I have an 96x24 butchers block and have 5 legs. I used black iron piping to make a unique design for the legs. the legs are around 6-7ft in length and around 20 inches in depth. it doesn't seem to wobble so that's a plus for now! definitely an upgrade from what I had before.
  10. Quick question.. I have an 8ft butchers block that I'm gonna be using as a desk top and for the legs I'm gonna be using black iron piping. If I have the 4 legs in the corner and another leg in the back middle of the desk, will the butchers block bow easily? I'm trying to make sure this desk lasts as long as possible.
