While constructive criticism is welcome, this topic is not going in a constructive direction. Different people like different presenting styles and different presenters, and that is fine.

My best friend is such a pain, I've built 3 gaming rigs for him in the last 6ish years and he complains EVERY time! Also, reason I've built 3 is because he has issues with his job and needs to sell stuff for quick $. I try to explain to him he's wasting way more $$ having me build him a brand new rig every-time and he will not settle for anything that isn't BNIB, not even a certified refurbished item. He goes on how he doesn't want to spend too much money but is convinced he will get more system performance buying a $400 mobo VS a $150 one, feels the need to have a 750w+ PSU when running an SSD and 1 GPU, as well as RGB AIO coolers perform better apparently ....Just today I came over cause he said he needs more RAM when playing around in task manager he noticed the usage to be very high. HE HAD 30+ TABS OPEN IN CHROME AND MANY OF THEM PLAYING SOME SORT OF VIDEO as well as whatever game he was playing. fml.

Drive capacity is obviously a huge factor when buying any laptop, especially for what you intend to use it for.. HOWEVER, since Apple and other companies are soldering every component to the board now upgrading isn’t an option. My opinion would be to max out the RAM cause external storage is cheap AF. I have a couple USB C / A sticks that get 200mb R/W speeds.

or if you want to be like me an upgrade my ram in my MBP by swapping the whole logic board lol.

Good reco, I’m personally just grabbing parts that are on sale until I pull the trigger on a CPU/MOBO. Picking up parts that won’t hurt my performance when I pair them with next gen hardware. Also good to do if you’re on budget and you need to stretch your purchases across a length of time.

Its hard to sit on a Chassis, PSU, SSD, and other misc HW though without wanting to go buy everything else. Haha

I have this model, its good! Format as ExFat, you can use seamlessly with win/OSX

Edit: If you don't need the portability get a desktop version for slightly more reliability. Would be stationary on your desk so no risk of being knocked around, dropping. etc. You also usually get more gigs per $.
