contacting linus personally, and resolving it quietly. is the exact opposite of "proper journalistic practices", what an absolute narcasistic arrogant buffoon

So TLDR, you hate ads. And thats about it.

Either you have very sugar-coated memory of past WAN Shows, or you take any change as a shock. And I say that as someone who has very clear idea of content they like to watch.

WAN Show has changed many times over the years. From Fiday Livestream by Linus with crappy laptop webcam just chatting to the friendly tech podcast from company to its fans its now. In there, they have had the "Brotime" you seem to have as highlight, but also bad sponsors like Razer Comms. VERY long period of bad audio quality and setup, something that was made meme rather than fixed (seems to be LMG tradition when you think of all the other things like that). They also tried to make the show 100% about news at one point. That was the point when I was very close to just stop watching. But I really don't like the "Brotime" either because for me it ties too much to that kinda unprofessional era (be it in the garage or with old office and couch, or even at new office before the world map set).

I kept watching because for me the show was from start 50% tech topics, 50% of what happens behind the scenes. I don't mind ads, as long as they aren't badly acted and forcefully scripted. Which seems to be 80% of ads in US and Canada (if someone can find the cringe LTT ad with "camping with creepy relative" you understand my point). I also watch other tech podcasts. Like Level1 News for almost pure news, or whatever Jay thinks he can keep somewhat at schedule for 4 months.

I don't think relationship between Luke and Linus have changed as of late. Luke is founding member of LMG. I'm pretty sure there hasn't been time during his and Linus' partnership where they haven't had employer-employee-esc relationship. The difference is that they don't work daily together, or even with same projects. I think that might be the thing where you see them loosing some common nominator, which makes it feel more distant. It has become more like with many other podcasts with regular guests instead of regular hosts (for example Tested.com podcast). I don't see that as such a big deal. it means more catching up on BTS stuff (which includes store showcases).

Last, the store shoutouts. There has been evolution of these too, and I do agree with you that we should have less of them. Taking 30mins is too much. That could be cut down by just leaving the product list out, unless person has it written in their message. But I'd be fine completely without them. Then again, I have personal "Thank You" video by Linus for funding their (then-new) current office. So guess I'm biased. But overall the current system might just be the best version. The first iterations of Twitter lighting round was pretty pointless as most of them were asking build and buy opinions, something for which then-new forum was made for. Transitioning to just comments from Twitch and Youtube chats, with Superchats becoming a thing (they really can't be turned off?). Imo reading ton of those is just same as celebs writing autographs to waiting fans. You stand hour(s) in rain for a chance. You may not get it, but do you go on blaming the celeb when they don't choose you? Or does celeb care that they can't reach all, just those they can do in 2 minutes they have to spare. This is imo same thing. One shoves their money in hopes of 2s of fame. Some get it, some don't. There could be couple, maybe even curated ones (idk how this would work with store things), but not 30mins worth of them. At that point, you could do whole show of just reading them.

All-in-all, if you don't like the content, don't watch it. If you have issues, complain. But don't, please just don't, try and make this about you. This reads out like "Goodbye, I'm leaving" thread. We don't know you, and one less viewer on WAN when you pay for FP doesn't really change anything.

They're not requiring it for computers upgraded from 10 to 11, but they do recommend enabling it.

All we heard about in regards to 11 was how VBS will increase security, only for them not to enforce it on upgraded systems, this causing 11 to have two different levels of security (systems with VBS enabled by default and systems with it off).

A feature like this only really works if it's 100% enabled by default on every system.

All the cables: Go into switch. Router: Either plug it directly into the switch, or plug it into one wall jacks that now leads to the switch.
Something like this will do you just fine: https://smile.amazon.com/Ethernet-Shielded-Optimization-Unmanaged-TL-SG116/dp/B07GR9S6FN/

Honest to god. Buy a 10-12 port switch. Plug them all in. Plug the router into the switch too. Good to go.

But I'm pretty sure having that data on your personal laptop is a big no-no in the first place, either it should be only held by the company on-premises and you working through remote access or the company should supply you with a laptop that is properly configured for such and contains nothing but what you need to work.

Going off of what I know from experience, you probably shouldn't be storing any sensitive data on your personal computer. My mom works at a major hospital and with her position, she can work from home currently. She can't have any work-related data on her computer. She can only access anything work related through a virtual desktop while connected to a VPN.
