  1. So, the setup I'm looking at is a Synology DS418play and two 4GB Seagate IronWolf drives. It's just going to be used by me for now, so I don't think I'll need the Pro drives. I've never had a NAS though, and am looking for whatever experiences people have with the drives, the NAS itself and the Synology OS. I know a 4-bay drive might be a little overkill for one person, but this is a much a desire to get into it and tinker with it than it is about the storage space :-)
  2. I was very confused by this reply until I noticed the post is from 2015. I agree though, Device is great. Generally I'm a big fan of Astralis and their core (Xyp9x, Dupreeh and Device).
  3. I do the exact same thing. I've had my 7 for about a year now, and I haven't once felt I needed the dongle at a time where I didn't have it with me anyway.
  4. Well that just means they have no idea what they're talking about though...
  5. The guy asks whether or not he should switch to the current gen iPhones or wait until next year, and immediately people argue why he should stick to Android. That's not the question he asked!
  6. I'm looking for a switch for my apartment. Currently I'm using the standard router my ISP provides, and that's working fine (if anyone has a suggestion I'm open to it though. It's mostly used for gaming), except the fact that there are only two ports on it. I have my PC and Philips Hue bridge connected to it right now, but in the future I'm looking into a NAS, possibly a second PC I have lying around, and a Raspberry Pi. In the interest of future proofing I think I'm looking at 6 or 8 ports, but I know literally nothing about this (or routers, hence suggestions welcome). I'm flexible on budget, and at a quick glance I'll be able to get a lot for less than $100 (please do note that I'm not in the US though, so stuff is probably about 20 % more expensive). I hope some of you fine folk are able to help me out :-)
