The text in tweets was modified but the URL was not. This meant if you posted a link to netflitwitter.com it would show the link as netflix.com but if you clicked the link it would go to netflitwitter.com
    For example: netflix.com

The reason I suspect they didn't change the URL as well is because x.com currently just redirects to twitter.com anyway. There's no benefit to changing the URL to x.com since it would just redirect back to twitter.com. Twitter just wanted it to display in the app as x.com but actually direct to twitter.com

Why would that problem be unique to single letter URLs? If you type "x.com" in the URL bar it will take you to x.com. The only problem would be if you type "x" and then choose one of the suggested URLs - but if you end up somewhere you did not intend then that's the users fault for relying on the suggested URLs and selecting the wrong suggested URL. That's not a problem that is unique to single letter URLs though, or even typing just a single letter in to the browser bar and letting the browser do the rest of the work. If you type "linu" and then let it autocomplete (choose one of the suggested URLs) then you might end up at linustechtips.com, or you might end up at linusmediagroup.com, maybe linux.org, or possibly something completely different depending on your browsing history.

Can you please do something about Linus pointing to something on a screen and the camera operator zooming in just to show a blurry unfocused mess before zooming back out as they try to keep up with Linus?
To be clear I'm not blaming the camera operators, I understand it isn't easy trying to focus on to a screen or to keep up with Linus's fast pace as he moves around. I'm not sure what the solution would be whether it would be to plan the shots out in advance so the camera operators know what they're going to be focusing on so they can be better prepared, telling Linus to slow down with his presentation a few seconds when he points to things on screen to give his team the time they need for shots like that (which can be cut in editing), cutting in a separate shot from B roll/screen capture if the primary footage ends up being unusable, cutting those sections from the video if they're too blurry to be usable, or having the camera operator on the spot saying "Sorry Linus I didn't quite catch that can we run it back again so I can focus".

Too old to be useful and too new and mass produced to be interesting from a retro standpoint. Unless you have a "smash room" where you charge people to go in to a room with a baseball bat and smash some junk and need some cheap computers for people to go office space on then I don't really see much use for those old systems.

Maybe try 1080p and set the scaling to integer in your GPU drivers. Higher non-integer resolutions can look way worse than lower integer resolutions.

From a quick google search the game seems to have a resolution scaling option. If that's true, that's your best option. Set it to 90% or 80% and the game will render at a lower resolution, but the UI will still render in crisp 4K.

Spotty reacted to Other James in LMG Sponsor Complaints
    Hello everyone,

Going forward, we will be locking the “LMG Sponsor Complaints” thread. Instead, sponsor complaints can be posted as individual, standalone threads in the LMG Sponsor Discussion subforum.

Please follow these steps when making complaints regarding sponsors.

    Create a New Thread.

Title of the post/thread should be “[Name of Brand] - [Summary of Complaint]”
The brand should be a current sponsor.
Did this issue happen to you or someone else?

    Describe your issue.

Have you tried solving your issue through the brand’s customer support channels? If so, what was the result?

What would an ideal resolution of your issue look like? Please include any supplementary photos to add context and clarity.

The reason for the change came after asking ourselves what we believed the thread was for, as well as wanting to keep things a bit organized. In short, our job here is to ensure the brands we work with look after our community.

We aim to work with the best brands that we can. However, that doesn’t mean we agree with every single employee, policy, or action from that brand. We are not the moral overseers of the tech world. For example, if Apple approached us with a sponsorship for ShortCircuit, we would be open to it, despite having issues with their business model in the past (Eg. Their right to repair policy).

We want to keep the focus on helping our community members reach resolutions with sponsors they may have problems with. This means keeping a focus on those that are customers of brands we work with. We also want to make sure that the proper channels have been followed before coming to us for assistance.

This new formatting will add clarity and help us keep track of problems on a brand by brand basis. This makes it easier for account leads to reference issues when we talk with our brands. It allows us to direct our contacts to one spot to assist where they can, while we monitor the conversation so we can monitor until we see the brand find a solution we find reasonable.

When we work with brands, our scripts and talking points must properly portray a product. If the product is something that you do not like or wish to purchase, that is totally up to you. If enough people aren’t interested and don’t buy from a sponsor, they won’t want to work with us in the end anyway. Being disinterested in a product does not merit a post in this subforum.

Our goal has never been to burn bridges with brands. Just because we’ve stepped away from sponsors doesn’t mean we’ve cut communication with them. We believe it’s beneficial for everyone if we work with the brand to fix whatever it was that made us step away from them. Some things we know take more time, such as full-on platform changes or reworking customer support systems. We care more that the brand is doing right by its customers and striving to fix issues, rather than “fix it now.” If we see enough improvement from a brand, we are open to resuming partnership with them. Our company isn’t perfect, and our brand partners aren’t always perfect. We care more about seeing improvement, and our partners taking care of the community.

The purpose of this update is to clarify what the Sponsor Complaints thread is for and to cut down on posts that make it harder for us to help you. This board is a place for problems and solutions. To reiterate what Colton’s original post on the thread says:

“This thread is focused on sponsor complaints related to personal product purchases, or first-hand experiences with one of LMG’s active sponsors. We will make every effort to help address these issues, but please note that we can’t respond to and help with everything, and some resolutions will take significant amounts of time to resolve.

While LMG greatly appreciates and respects community input, we reserve the right to partner with the companies we feel right promoting. We'd like to thank everyone for all the support.”

Any posts that do not follow the guidelines outlined in this post are subject to removal.

These are scam websites. They have no affiliation to Vessi. Only purchase from vessi.com

If they do not ship to your country reach out to the customer support on the official site https://vessi.com/pages/contact and ask if there are any authorised sellers. As far as I know they only sell within North America. They also have a list of authorised retailers (NA only): https://vessi.com/pages/retailers
If Vessi does not sell in Europe then any website claiming to be Vessi selling in those regions is a scam.

I have seen several complaints regarding scam websites impersonating Vessi. For whatever reason the Vessi brand seems like a popular target for scammers. Likely because they're a brand that is heavily promoted on social media and by influencers and likely also because they aren't available in all regions creating demand for the product in regions they do not ship to that the scammers can market to.
Here's an older post on the forum from somebody who was scammed by one of these websites. Instead of receiving shoes they received a cheap hat. It's not the only case of scammers impersonating Vessi I've seen though.
    https://linustechtips.com/topic/1428939-lmg-sponsor-complaints/?do=findComment&comment=15996291

There's only so much LMG (and Vessi) can do to stop scammers impersonating the brand, but like you suggested I think it would be worthwhile calling it out and mentioning to only buy from the official store.

Likely your email address was exposed in an unrelated breach and now attackers are trying that email and password combination to try and access your account. Hopefully the reason it's unsuccessful is because you're using unique passwords.

For extra protection you should enable MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) to the Microsoft account.

Yes. You only need to use the adapter cable that goes to 3 PCIe cables if your power supply does not have a 12VHPWR cable. Since your power supply has the 12VHPWR cable you can just use that instead of the adapter cable and PCIe cables.

Oof. At least they encrypted it, I guess?

Also looks like - for the birth dates at least - the encrypted data wasn't salted. The dataset has birth dates in an encrypted state. It includes a separate file (rainbow table) for birthdays which just includes every possible birth date combination and its encrypted value. It's possible to compare the encrypted value from the dataset to the table of birth dates to get the true value.

I'm actually surprised that birth dates were encrypted at all.

2021 was when an attempt was made to sell data stolen from AT&T. Apparently this data has been confirmed by AT&T to be from 2019 and include data on current and former customers from 2019 and prior.

If it was 2019 then the attacker would have generated every possible birth date combination since 1900 (1900 - 2019 = 119 years).
I wonder if that is also the same for the SSNs, since that also includes a separate table for decrypting the values. If SSNs weren't salted and they had the encryption key they could have just generated a table of every possible social security number and their encrypted value.

It's stated on the store page that the images are a digital mock up.

For limited edition t-shirt prints they will do a digital mock up of the design and only print the t-shirts after all of the orders have been placed. Printing the shirts after selling them allows them to produce the limited edition shirts in smaller quantities, in a single production run, and with minimal excess inventory. It also allows for a faster turnaround from design -> sale which is usually essential for their limited edition runs to catch the demand while whatever topic is still relevant (in this case April Fools).
They've done this for their previous limited edition shirts such as the Gone Phishin (LTT hack) shirt and more recently the Tax Write Off shirt. Digital mock ups allows them to quickly design a shirt and make it available for sale, sometimes within a day, whereas designing a shirt and sending it off to the printer and scheduling it in to be printed, printing samples, receiving the samples, and doing modelling shoots could take weeks to organise by which time they've missed the hype. There probably wouldn't be as much demand for an April Fools shirt sold in June.

I believe they're printing the shirts on their standard LTT shirt. If you've purchased any of LTT's shirts recently it should be the same blend. You could also view photos for other shirts, though I'm not sure how much information you could get about the blend from a photo.
