  1. Give that a try. You can force G-Sync on in the nVidia Control Panel.
  2. Are you running your games with G-Sync turned on?
  3. I've been going for 2.5+ hours now, and it's not done yet, but it hasn't found anything new yet. The entire C drive has come back clean. Edit: The scan finished, and it didn't locate anything. I did make sure it was checking for rootkits too. I'm gonna give it about a day and see if it keeps doing the thing.
  4. @ManyCoresGuy Do I need to be in a specific version of safe mode to run a Defender scan? I opened the security settings, but it's just a blank page. Malwarebytes will scan, though.
  5. I'll try it, but I've run Malwarebytes, and it didn't find anything except some adware installer in my Recycling Bin Registry.
  6. It's barely being used. My RAM is taking a little bit of a hit with Chrome open though.
  7. Right, so, I've started noticing that recently my computer has been pretty laggy and stuttery for no apparent reason. While sitting on the desktop, I'll try to move my mouse, and the whole thing will freeze up for a moment, before finally responding. Sometimes it'll freeze up a couple times in a row before responding properly. I'm not sure what could be causing it, as I'm fairly certain there isn't really anything happening in the background that I don't know about. Task manager says the 2 most intensive things happening on my computer at any given time are Chrome and the Anti-Malware Exe from Windows Defender. My drives seem to be reasonably performing. My SSD has 113GB remaining (My OS and primary app drive) and my HDD RAID has 253GB left. The rest of my specs are in my Signature. Even as I'm typing this, the cursor keeps freezing as I'm hitting keys, but it never misses a keystroke and it always catches up. It's just super frustrating to deal with, and I'm hoping that someone might have an idea or suggestion that can help me fix this, or at the very least find out what's causing it. Many thanks in advance!
  8. Did some checking, and apparently my MoBo (AORUS X470 Gaming 5) doesn't have load line calibration.
  9. And how do I go about doing that? I'm using Ryzen Master, but I could swap to the BIOS if need be.
  10. Basically, I'm curious what voltages I should avoid in overclocking my 2700X. It's currently at 1.45v and I have it pinned to the boost speed of 4.3GHz. I'd like to get more out of it if I can. Should I give 'er more, or am I pushing it? And on a separate note, is it strange that my computer crashes when I try to run Cinebench, but it seems like everything else is working just fine? Even Minecraft, and from what I understand, it typically is pretty heavy on CPU. Any way, thanks in advance, all!
  11. Considering I'm still under warranty as this is a 1 month old RMA card, I'll probably just RMA again unless I find a slightly less drastic solution.
  12. Drivers were fresh when I first installed it about a month ago, and now I'm running whatever drivers were available when I updated yesterday.
  13. I dunno, it's kinda strange. I had a GTX 1060 SSC before that would boost as advertised, and would really easily overclock to 2100MHz-ish. That card had the DP failure that I see several people on the EVGA Forums post about, and I had to RMA that card. Now the new one is here and it doesn't even boost up to the 1800MHz-ish that is advertised. It's pinned at base clocks, regardless of what I'm doing with it. Does anyone have any ideas as to what my problem might be? I'm super wiped out, cuz I went on UserBenchmarks dot com and it said I performed in the 23rd percentile of 1060s. Essentially, A properly boosting, slightly overclocked 1060 3GB could outpace my card right now. Specs are below, not sure if they matter or help: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 4.15GHz I believe, Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 X470 MoBo, 2x8GB @ 3000MHz V-Color Skywalker RGB RAM, EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC stuck at stock, Cougar CMX1000 1,000w Semi-Modular PSU. I'm booting off a Sandisk SSD Plus, and have game libraries stored on 2 Hitachi Deskstar spinning irons in RAID 0.
  14. It was GPU. Don't know how, but I fried the DisplayPort controller on the card and had to RMA it. I chalk it up to the age, the use, and the fact that I had also overclocked the monitor's refresh rate.
  15. I like the Matias Clicks. They're nice and crisp. Motherboards with them seem to be either expensive, or tend to be 60% or less.
  16. So, I absolutely love the Box Navy's click, by I can't find an RGB motherboard with those switches preassembled. And I don't exactly have enough/any experience to build my own.
  17. It's not so much the feel I'm worried about. I've tried quite a few clicky switches, and I haven't really found any I don't like the feel of. I like the satisfying click, but I don't like the thunk of key caps hitting a backplate. Ideally I'd have the incredible click of the Ornata Chroma, with RGB backlighting, but a nice, tactile clicky mechanical switch instead of membrane. Hence why I posted about the sound I'm looking for, not the feel.
  18. So for a while, I've been playing and typing with a Rosewill Apollo with a red backlight and clicky tactile switches. So I ran across an ASMR video where the ASMRtist was typing on a few different keyboards, and the Razer Ornata Chroma was one of them. I fell in love with the sound, but I'm wondering if there is a mechanical equivalent in sound. RGB is a bonus, because I'm trying an Orange AORUS theme in my rig. I'll take any suggestions. And if anyone owns the keyboard they recommend, I'd love to get an audio clip of some typing on the switches. Thanks in advance!
  19. Funny, that's actually why I replaced my previous unit with this one I bought new a year ago. At that point in time, I had an R9 Fury. I have since had no such problems with it, but who knows. This is true. At least the molex power cables aren't permanently attached like the last one I had.
  20. How do you figure? Is 1000w not enough? Or are we worried about efficiency?
  21. So I wonder, would I then be able to get as much use out of a Vega FE? Also 16GB, as powerful as a Vega 64, roughly the same price.
  22. And you'd be correct. 12 is still more than 8, though. XD Your thought process is quite logical. Exactly as mine started out. I'm probably gonna backtrack on my choice later and just pick up the 1080 ti when the price drops a little more. I remember when it was regarded as the only option for 4k60 gameplay. Also, Titan V is absolutely out of the question. For 2k, I may as well buy a Miata.
  23. While the Xp and 2080 are comparable in performance, the 50% extra VRAM will be quite helpful in higher resolution applications. I do occasionally find myself wanting to run maxed out 4k just because I can. I have thought about Vega refresh, by the time I both have the money for it, as well as an in stock source for the VII, Navi will probably be available. I may see what comes of that. And just for the record, who doesn't want to tell their friend they own a Titan? XD It's a CMX1000. 80+ Bronze. Semi-modular. Nothing special, but quite capable.
  24. Specifically, wattage is no issue because I'm running a Cougar 1000w PSU. I agree with you on the Titan being generally overpriced, but eBay has some very nice deals on used Xp's. (Figure selling between 750-900 bucks.) I have considered Vega. Here is my thought process up to this point: 1. This 2700x is great! My 1060 is struggling here, though... Maybe it's time to upgrade graphics too. 2. How cool would an all AMD build be! I'm gonna save up for a Vega 64. 3. But 1080 tends to be a little quicker for similar money. 4. And then, used 1080 ti's aren't really that much more expensive... 5. Rabbit hole 6. Wrong turn at Albuquerque 7. Lost the map; also my mind 8. I now am legitimately considering purchasing a used Titan Xp for 800 plus...
