Whats a good way to go about asking for payment
Cookie Monster replied to DirtyDane's topic in General Discussion
If it's something longer than about 15 mins work or they want you to drop everything and come immediately I'd charge them the minimum wage. If they complain ask them how much a skilled worker like a plumber or electrician charges. -

John "TB" Bain says cancer is reappearing
Cookie Monster replied to Michael McAllister's topic in General Discussion
To get cancer that early it is overwhelmingly due to genetics. Even if someone had a bad diet, smoked or whatever it doesn't mean they deserve cancer or shouldn't have our support. -
What do you guys use to elevate your Computer?
Cookie Monster replied to Croum's topic in General Discussion
I went to the clearance corner of my local ikea and bought a $2 cupboard door. -
Why is this in tech news? BMW are a motorbike and car company so the collapse of their CEO has a negligible impact on the tech industry.

No coupons work with it as it is discounted

You get virtually no data, pay exorbitant amounts for it; and there's only capacity for about 1 person per cell tower.

Pascal will be released as a cut down version and a titan and only then the full chip will come out.

Being on the front page of twitch obviously had nothing to do with the large viewer numbers.

LTT get most of their components for free. Where do you think he gets all those asus motherboards and nvidia graphics cards he uses in every just about build?
-
Don't be naive. Those chips will be sold at some point; EVGA will not want money sitting idle in inventory. The statement about not selling them immediately is their PR department attempting to protect their reputation and avoid a precipitous drop in sales when people realise the sheer enormity of the implications of EVGA's decision.
-
If EVGA are cherrypicking all their best chips and charging a premium for them that means the overclocking ability of the rest of their range will suffer significantly. It looks like the only way to get a decent overclocker from them will be to pay an exorbitant amount or one of the specially binned reviewers' copies. EVGA are taking a leaf from nvidia's book and screwing consumers over.

To an extent futureproofing does work. How much advancement have we seen in cpus in recent generations? Socket 1366, on the enthusiast side, as well as sandy bridge, on the mainstream, are perfectly viable today.
