  1. I find that hard to believe as its on the supported CPU list on the gigabyte site and rated for 105W plus the 1800x is 95W But will take this and do a bit more digging I have a Tier D mobo on the shelf so will chuck it in I will certainly be took to school if it works in the asrock board hahaha thank you very much for your reply
  2. Hi all, I have built many systems and consider myself prety good with Ryzen systems but always know there is more to learn, and i am quite frankly stuck atm, I just built a system with the follows specs: Ryzen 7 1800x Gigabyet B450 Gaming 16gb XPG 3000mgx ram dual channel Vega 56 On the surface everything seems to work fine but when testing i noticed a lower score in R15 (the same as a Ryzen 7 1700 so looked further into it, now even on synthetic tests my CPU will not go above 85% usage and clocks down to 3.1 under load, im first thought was thermal throttling but Aida 64 and HW info tell me im not going over 70 degrees no spikes im in windows performance power profile and have updated the Mobo bios so im a bit stuck! Has anyone else come across this and knows a fix? Thanks in advance
  3. I had an FX 8350 for teh longest time and its OK sort of but now I have switched to Intel (6700k) but this was before the launch of Ryzen. I would definitely change your cpu as there is no point side grading to previous gen motherboard and ram will not give you determinable performance increases. I would suggest maybe checking out the Video on the Ryzen 5 1500 as i dont think your GPU is teh problem here. GTA V is a CPU heavy game being open map so with a better CPU new mother board and 8gb of DDR 4 you should be good for a while. There is no point putting a 1069 with the FX CPU as the CPU will still be the bottle neck
